The store has some good bargains, and can knock pounds off some stock compared to ther shops. The shop sells everything from furniture, to knitting wool, to bottles of pop to nappies. The store has the new style baskets on wheels, the only problem with these is that when you get to the till you have to lift the basket up, not always practical. The staff are friendly, not always very knowledgable about products and product location. This store is ideal to visit for christmas shopping.

I suppose their "get out of gaol free card" is: subject to availability. This sort of thing does more damage to a company's reputation than not offering something for free. I suppose the old maxim still holds true: "There's no such thing as a free lunch." :-)

It now carries perfumes and cosmetics, clothing, and a small homeware section. The perfum section competes poorly with the likes of Superdrug and the Perfume Shop, and the homeware section contains such a limited range of goods that the local Tesco eclipses it in usefulness. The restaurant is merely average, with no outstanding features.

The material rolls section is brilliant, and there are some really good bargains in the clearnace section. I also thought that the section with linings and furnishing bits (tassles etc) was really good and very good value for money. I loved the blinds section, and am currently measuring up to get the horizontal leather covered blinds in my lounge. I've never seen blinds like these before, and have been assured by the staff that they dont fade in the sun. Looks to be very good quality throughout the store, and the staff i met were very polite and helpful. Looking forward to getting my blinds in now! They will also make curtains to order

There is a custom made curtains and blinds section, and from what i overheard from other people, this service does not cost much more than just buying the fabric and making the curtains yourself, but obviously takes out a lot of the hassle. It is located outside of newcastle town centre, so is most defnitly a 'drive to' experience, but parking is plentiful, and right next to the store.

It may not be quite in the price range that you were hoping for, but you can't have everything. If you are a grannie then this place contains a lot of your grannie needs - i.e. stuff that promises to make your life easier but in reality is just one more thing to try and keep clean and avoid falling over it. Seriously - there is a very fine line between useful item, and something that will end up being classed as junk. For those of you with well heeled friends they also sell a range of unique food items that are ideal for gifts as a) people dont' tend to buy them for themselves b) you couldn't get away with giving someone 1lb of Saxa table salt, but you could get away with giving them 1/2 lb of sea salt in a nice bag. My family have used it for years, you can generally pick up decent quality furniture at very good prices, ranging from beds, chest of drawers, wardrobes, suites and the like. The service has always been very helpful and in their sales you can get some absolute bargains. They have a large car park out the front and are conveniently situated on the main Holyhead Road through Ketley.
