This all just seemed part of the service, after cutting my hair the barber pulled a hot damp towel from some drawer especially designed for this purpose and rubbed my whole head with it. Then he put some strange massage thingy on his hand and I got a head massage that felt like I'd pressed my skull to a rubber Harley Davidson. It was funny and marvelous and like being instantly drunk. If you can imagine what it must be like to be a coffee ground getting steamed in an espresso machine in a Saturn 5 rocket on take-off, it would be something like this. Most invigorating.
