My ultrasound baby measurements

I love Dr Moniak and his staff for have been going to Dr Moniak office since I had my first period he's delivered all my babies. I have never met drs in an office who were always so concerned about my health during and before and after pregnancy. The front office staff always sweet when I go in they love my kids. I definitely recommend office to anyone looking to have or receive wonderful care from a Dr

Raevin R.

Never thought I would enjoy going to the doctor till I found Dr. Moniak. The girls both front and back office are absolutely amazing. They are super super sweet girls very attentive. Always have got me back on time always have gone the extra mile to make sure my & my fiancé schedule was accommodated. And always responded to my emails when I needed a doctors note for work, etc. Dr. Moniak is the best, he always sure that I was very aware of what was going on and how I should be feeling, always answering my 1 million questions and concerns. He was there with me through the whole process & each appointment to make sure I felt comfortable. My daughter was breech and a little underweight so I was recommended to do monitoring. The hospital would not take up the insurance I had at the time, so Dr. moniak was kind enough to do it in his office so there was no additional stress put on me. He performed a C-section as he didn't recommend an EVC which ended up being the best decision as she had the cord wrapped around her neck, one time & flipping her could have caused harm. At first I was a little taken back as I was expecting a vaginal birth, and was willing to do anything almost to accomplish that BUT he said it was a bad idea (which in the end he was 100% correct) ; so listen to your doctor there is a reason you don't have a PHD. The C-section was smooth, he had her out and me all stitched up in 38min. Recovery process was good & my incision is still slowly, but surely healing, and if I may say so myself looking quite good! I will define going back to Dr. Moniak as my OBGYN as well as if I have any future pregnancies! Thank you ladies and Dr. Moniak!

First time here.

She is compassionate, efficient, knowledgeable, and joy to visit, which I say a lot when you consider that no one likes going to the OB/GYN. I love how good attack the office is as well - they are on top of things, they have a portal, they do telehealth and there's no issues that I've had with that either. They are located conveniently to the other medical buildings in Newport. If I have to go to the OB/GYN, might as well get some beach time or yummy food lol.

I also had the pleasure of seeing Tabitha Indries, NP, for a couple of my appointments during my most recent pregnancy, and she was kind, genuine, personable, and went out of her way to discuss and address all of my questions and concerns. Lastly, their patient portal is very convenient, and Dr. Mahller answers questions through the portal extremely quickly, which has been SO helpful and appreciated!

Words cannot express how deeply grateful I am to have found Dr. Marinescu. He was my second opinion…read moreafter I was diagnosed with a massive 14 cm dermoid cyst on my left ovary -- which had doubled in size during pregnancy -- along with a new, smaller cyst on my right. My original surgeon panicked, telling me he could no longer perform the surgery laparoscopically, that it would need to be open surgery, and most devastating of all -- that saving my left ovary would not be possible. As a brand new mom with a 3 month old hoping to grow our family, this sent me into a spiral of fear and heartbreak about my fertility. Dr. Marinescu was the complete opposite: calm, compassionate, and confident. While he was realistic that there were no guarantees, he believed there was a good chance he could save my ovary and even do so with robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery. After days of tears, the moment I met him, I felt a sense of peace. I knew I was in the best hands. My experience with Dr. Marinescu and the entire Hoag Hospital system was nothing short of exceptional. I never waited more than 10 minutes for any appointment, lab, or scan. Everything was organized, smooth, and patient-centered. The surgery prep was seamless, the staff were warm and reassuring, and I went into the OR feeling truly cared for and at peace. When Dr. Marinescu came out to tell my husband that the surgery had gone great -- and that he had saved both of my ovaries -- my husband literally cried. It was such a relief that this was all behind us. My only regret is that I don't live closer so that Dr. Marinescu could be my OB for future pregnancies. We live in Ventura County and gladly traveled the distance because we knew this was the doctor we could trust with something as precious as our fertility. Thank you so much, Dr. Marinescu. My family and I are so SO happy that we found you and trusted you with this surgery!!! Brianna

I had no problem with his accent. That is all for the positives. *If you value your healthy reproductive organs, be warned. This doctor seems a bit too eager to part you from them.* Despite no other patients, I waited a very long in the waiting room and again in the examination room. This gave me the opportunity to closely observe that his examination room was dirty, with dusty equipment, old dust on devices, between buttons, in corners. After sitting through all that, I was handed consent forms for an invasive biopsy without proper explanation. I protested. Only then the doctor came in and informed me he was diagnosing me with adenomyosis, just off a general ultrasound ordered by my PCP. He immediately pushed for a hysterectomy. When I said I still wanted children, he discouraged me heavily, saying I would have a hard time conceiving and then carrying a healthy pregnancy given my age (40) and the condition of my uterus. When I said my prev pregnancy was a quick natural conception and easy, he brushed it off as a fluke. Dr. M. kept pushing hysterectomy, telling me how skilled he was at performing it laparoscopically. I left the office confused. When I later requested an MRI (the gold standard for this diagnosis), it showed no indication of adenomyosis. The office still pushed for surgery, so I cut contact. Two years later, after unrelated surgery, pathology confirmed my uterus was completely healthy and capable of pregnancy. Dr. Marinescu's rushed diagnosis and mistaken pregnancy prognosis (the claim I couldn't not conceive) was a factor in my decision to include hysterectomy in my other procedure - a decision I now regret. To make a long story short: Dr. Marinescu pushed unnecessary sterilization surgery. His office was dusty. Stay away.

Every contraction made me less confident that I could do it, but Dr Lao was one of the 3 in the room who reassured me and helped me through! My biggest praise has to go to her CALM CALM demeanor. What a difference that made! She was incredibly patient with my indecisiveness, never pressed me for what she wanted over what I wanted, but also (so) kindly gave her recommendations and gave me both the space to think things through and all the options before me. She also took great care and extra steps in physically delivering my son, and honored my wish to delay cord clamping until the cord turned white. Never with a hint of annoyance either. Thank you Dr. Lao!!

I was very excited and hopeful to see Dr. Harris after struggling with significant PMS and PMDD…read moresymptoms. My first consultation was honestly excellent. She took the time to listen to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and I was pleasantly surprised by how knowledgeable she was about supplements and even peptides. She ordered comprehensive blood work, and I left that appointment feeling optimistic that I had finally found someone who would help me get to the root cause of my symptoms. Unfortunately, my experience changed after treatment began. I explained that my menstrual cycles are typically 30 to 35+ days and that I have a history of delayed or absent ovulation. Despite that, my progesterone level was checked on cycle day 21, assuming I had already ovulated. I felt that ovulation should have been confirmed before interpreting those results. Based on those results, I was instructed to begin oral progesterone on cycle day 10. As a 32-year-old with longer cycles and suspected anovulatory cycles, day 10 seemed early to me, but I trusted her medical judgment and followed the instructions exactly. By day four of taking progesterone, I developed severe cystic acne unlike anything I had experienced before. Around the same time, I also began experiencing significant anxiety that eventually progressed into what felt like severe depression. It was frightening because I had never experienced anything like that before. Because the acne became so severe, I contacted Dr. Harris, and she prescribed spironolactone. While it appeared to help my acne for the first couple of days, by the third or fourth day I became extremely dizzy, my blood pressure dropped to approximately 90/50, and I found myself in one of the darkest emotional states I have ever experienced. I was genuinely scared, had to take time off work, and felt like I was in a very dark place emotionally. When I called her office crying and explained everything I was experiencing, the immediate recommendation was to start an antidepressant. I had to advocate for myself because I did not believe I had a primary depressive disorder. From my perspective, these symptoms began after starting the prescribed medications, and I wanted to address that first rather than add another medication. Looking back, it was alarming to realize that within about 10 days of becoming a patient, I had been prescribed progesterone, spironolactone, and then an antidepressant. After I declined the antidepressant, I was prescribed yet another off-label medication for acne, which I ultimately chose not to take. What disappointed me most was what happened afterward. After telling my doctor that I was severely depressed, crying, unable to work, experiencing dangerously low blood pressure, and feeling unlike myself, I never received a follow-up phone call or message to check on how I was doing or whether I had recovered. What I did receive, however, was a $100 bill for that 15-minute phone call. I completely understand that physicians bill for their time, but it was difficult to receive an invoice after reaching out in crisis while never receiving a follow-up to see if I was okay. That left me feeling unsupported during one of the most difficult experiences I have had. I understand that every patient responds differently to medications, and this is simply my personal experience. However, I wish my treatment plan had been more individualized to my cycle length and ovulation pattern. Looking back, I believe ovulation should have been confirmed before prescribing progesterone so early in my cycle, especially for someone with consistently longer cycles. I also believe that patients reporting severe emotional side effects deserve proactive follow-up. I truly wanted this treatment to work because my first impression of Dr. Harris was so positive. Unfortunately, my experience after starting treatment left me feeling unheard, unsupported, and much worse than when I first sought help.
