Fabio Dasilva showed up and was very informative and was able to pinpoint the issue. He also was realistic and told us that the heater was way past its life expectancy and we should think about a replacement. Did not force a sale or anything but did give us a quote for a replacement. The next day we decided to call back and just replace the system to avoid going through this again. They came in the next day, replaced the system and took care of all necessary permits. We needed a new boiler and based on AI, their quote seemed to be in the right ball-park. We decided to go check them out further. After they examined our system in more detail, we were givren a quote of $16k, which seemed in line according to AI. When they came to fix the unit, they they determined that a whole new system would be far more efficient and easier to maintain. What a pleasant surprise to end up with a more efficient and easier to operate furnace. And, here's the kicker... The final price was 25% lower than the original quote. The only negative I can think of is that I have to go make another trip to my bank to deposit the money I didn't need to use on the purchase of my new system.
