I only had them on weekends and a short time but they actually care about their caregivers and…read moreclients! My only regret is that I didn't find them sooner

This place went downhill the last year my mother was there. I see they are having their employees…read morewrite reviews now, example, "Maria H." My mother had overnight care and at least 10 times the workers never showed up. Family members had to come in at 11:30 pm. when their shifts started at 11 pm. The only employee I trusted was the poor overnight dispatcher who couldn't really do anything and had to profusely apologize/pass along the message in the morning because this agency A. DOESN'T HIRE CNA AND, B. DOES NOT HAVE OVERNIGHT SUPERVISORS. ONE OF THE SUPERVISOR, MONA IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. THE CNA THAT WORK at Family Resource HAS TO CONTRACT WITH THEM TO PAY THEM THEIR DESERVED WAGES. They hire retired CNA with no licenses or ones who barely have their licenses/lost them. Most of them have no common sense regarding ADLS or DAILY LIVING SKILLS. They don't know how to clean properly or what to do in an emergency. Our family finally told them to call 911 if they were clueless about a situation with my mother who was 94 at the time. She was a fall risk and fell several times where the supervisor did nothing about the worker, no extra training or anything then, would send the same work into the home. I finally reported the last worker to the WA DOH as she let my mother fall overnight then, lied about it. I found she was training to be a CNA and not licensed yet. Terrible place, don't waste your parents or your Long Term Care insurance there. Call PIERCE COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES FOR LONG TERM CARE FIRST!!!

I am 34 years old and just starting my journey on hospice care. Despite a year-long and strict "no…read morehospital trips under any circumstances" came to Franciscan Hospice House because my pain was unmanageable, which I have previously gone to ER's to aid in getting some relief, but was the only met with indifferent, yet judgy doctors who labeled me as a drug seeker, and didn't care if there was anything wrong with me. Especially considering I have an issue where I metabolize medication too quickly, making it far less effective, and making me need higher doses of everything, which does not go over well in the ERs. I had to become used to the fact that if I were going to an ER visit or a hospitalization, I was going to end up going home in worse condition then when I had gotten there, pain-wise. I was told that this place would be different in hospice is different, but I still expected it when I came here a couple nights ago. I was met with absolutely nothing but the opposite of everything I just described. All this time, I've been wondering where all of the good-hearted people, who got into medicine to help others to heal their pain, judgement free, had gone, and I seem to have stumbled upon them right here at the Franciscan hospice House. I can't say enough how amazing each and every person who works here is, and I wish I could recognize it in a way where I'm able to give back some of what they've given me, but posting my truth on the on this internet website will just have to do. All my dozens of ER visits and hospitalizations I have experienced in my adult life, made me feel like I was doing something wrong when I needed and asked for some kind of pain control, to the point where I was ashamed to even ask. I unlearned that behavior here, and I don't know if I could have gone on without that changing. I found no nefarious actions, or questionable intentions in anything that is done here by any of the people who work here, it's just good people. I was unaware they still existed. It's like finding a freaking unicorn on a bit stunned and unsure of what to do next, but this seems like the right step. I almost don't want to make any sudden movements and in fear that it might spook them and everything will go back to the hellish ways that I'm used to. If you're considering getting their services, my only advice is stop waiting and just do it, because for me, nothing but good came out of it. Your life might seem like that too, but if anyone were to pull out some more good parts of life, it would be them, and it would be here (I'm actually still a patient here as of right meow

I'll start with it's a nice clean facility. And some of the staff are angels here. But I was a bit…read moreuncomfortable on how much they drug up the patients here. My family clearly specified to not raise the Fentanyl and the sedative dosages on my mom without notifying us and they still did it behind our backs. The doctor just kept on apologizing when we complained about it. One nurse raised the dosages right after I went to the bathroom, it felt sneaky! She also kept pressuring us to press the button for more drugs when the patient was already comfortable. Also, the nurse on duty when my mom died was a bit inexperienced. We had to keep calling her back to point out that her breathing changed and she kept saying she's not leaving yet. Maybe the staff and this place should be more monitored/audited here.
