I can't believe that no one has reviewed this marvelous store!…read more Bay Used Books boasts over a quarter of a million used books on its sign, and there is no question that this is the truth - once you set foot in this expansive store, there will be no doubt in your mind that this place lives up to its promises. Stacks are well-organized by genre and shelves have large alphabetical tabs to ease your searches. There are, quite literally, books everywhere: under the stairs leading down to the basement, in closets, in bins, on carts, etc. Posters, CDs, DVDs, and other non-bibliographic goods can also be purchased here. The staff members are friendly, pleasant, and more than willing to help you find what you're looking for. As an added bonus, you can visit the store's website for an up-to-date list of inventory and even place holds (I believe) on items you want. Prices are very reasonable. My mother and I spent close to 2 hours browsing and enjoying the music piped throughout the store. We both found several items that we liked and were pleased to hear that Bay Used Books enjoys a good deal of business - used book stores in Nova Scotia certainly don't seem to do so, which is a dreadful shame. I will most certainly be returning to Bay Used Books if and when I return to Sudbury.

Been going to this spot since 7-star in the supermall. Between Mark, Doug, Fred...Idk who owns it…read morenow? Maybe Darryl? Anyway, we would go here from 11am till close, shooting the shit, playing 40k, and being rowdy kids (as much as nerds in 2001 could be). Good place for comic and comic book accessories, MTG, DnD, whitewolf stuff, and of course, good ol 40k. This was then. I picked up a few blisters in the last...oh man, maybe 10 years? Darryl was running it. Same feel. IDK what the 40k community is like up there now, but I know there are a bunch of 30+ers who remember Dark Millennium. Vortex grenades ...so on. Anyway, good place.
