I discovered this place through Google maps (the only way to find businesses out here because Yelp…read moreis scarcely used). It was my first time in Hengelo and I had biked there from Enschede, hoping to buy some concert tickets at the Metropool...but I was an hour and a half early. I had to kill some time. So I hung out here! Being a student, living on campus with only a Starbucks being the closest, I am always dying for good coffee (the vending machine coffee is crap and doesn't take my card, and the coffee you get in the cafeterias also sucks). I ordered a simple Americano with a lemon poppy muffin. The 2 complemented each other SO well! This was probably the best Americano I've ever had as well. It had a good espresso tang without being overly sour. Their coffee menu was probably on the more extensive side too, they had the seasonal pumpkin and chai flavors. The atmosphere is very casual and quiet. I'm not sure if it gets busy (this is tiny Hengelo after all), but there weren't too many people crowding the area. The person working was very friendly and struck up a conversation with me too since it was so quiet. There are a ton of places to sit, mixture between small tables, comfy couches, and outdoor seating (when it's not raining!!). They also have wifi, so it's a great place to study!

The ample spaces and the limited amount of seats gives it a wonderful grotto feeling! As for the menu expect a bit of the basics, coffee tea, cappuccino, you know the basis... When your eyes adjust to the light, you can see the multitude of seating; there's small tables big tables, chairs, loveseats, a rocking chair, a small bookcase with titles solely from Clive Cussler (?), and some magazines. It's all very atmospheric. Onto the coffee. There's different ways and kinds available to choose from, the aeropress, v60, chemex. I chose the Rwandan coffee through aeropress, and boy was it delicious. You get a card with information about the coffee in both Dutch and English. It's all served in a classy way, and the staff is friendly. If I lived in Arnhem, I'd be going here a lot more often. Sadly, I live more than an hour away. I think that says enough about the kind of place it is. Note: I don't think the cave is accessible by wheelchair, but I could be mistaken. The coffee is great enough to just get it on the go too, but sitting here is very relaxing.

They told us beforehand that the pin device wasn't working and that we had to pay cash, but we didn't have any cash with us. They told us it was ok and we could go to an ATM after lunch to get some cash and come back to pay. The menu is very extensive, a lot longer than most restaurants on the city. Everything sounded good and prices vary from just a few euros to more expensive meals, which are about €10 - €12. I went for a week special wrap which you can see in the picture. It was €9,95 and it was so worth it! I rarely have such an amazing meal at a restaurant! I think this is one of the best places in Oss to have lunch and I will definitely come more often!
