I love Chapley Gardens. So helpful and knowledgable and friendly. I visit every year for one thing or another. We got a lovely small granite slab, like a grist mill slab, for a water feature with a reservoir below ground and black river rocks to lay over the water return grid. It's lovely, has a soothing sound, and the birds love it. So does our dog. I've bought a number of water plants for my tiny frog pond there over the years as well. The gardens out back are delightful - nothing is tidy and it's perfect for wildlife. The lotus pond out front by the entrance is stunning and they have a good variety of perrenials as well. We have gone to Chapley Gardens for many years for plants and fish. We went this year to restock our fish pond with fish and plants. The property is clearly going down hill and many of the garden areas are over run with weeds. They had very few fish and water plants. However, their plants are still awesome and we are happy with what we bought. read more

They sell annuals and perennials but they also have a pretty cool line of water plants, for water gardeners. They also have a decent line of water garden items such as pumps, liners and pre formed ponds. If you are into water gardening, this is the place for you. read more

Chappley has an interesting variety of plants and I was not buying water plants. The selection included useful standards like phlox, salvia and daylilies and some more unusual items. I bought several echinaceas and some helebores. The plants were large and healthy. read more

Visited on 7/29/14. Overgrown with weeds and very poor selection of plants, ponds filled with scum. Sales woman/owner? dogged us (client and I) to the point where we left. Yes, they had supplies for pond construction, no they didn't have any clear construction examples, diagrams, plant lists....I'm a MA certified arborist with 30 years of landscaping experience, but nothing I was telling my client was correct enough for the sales person, even though I was being kind about my observations. Prices for plants were average, no specials observed even though we're well into summer and most of the perennials had gone past flowering. read more
