Beware, Chaparral Farm is in deed scamming! I am the former employee that they spoke about. I only help out at kennel 12 days. There WERE many puppies that Karen said were wolf. The only thing I said wouldn't do was clean the piled up shit in their hen houses. I wasn't permitted to have a phone, walke talky, or any way to contact Karen in the house if there was problems. Jim on the other hand had a gun, walk talky and phone. I was bit by one of their wolf dogs and many times by farel puppies Karen had me try to worm. Karen can not be trusted. read more

Just over three years ago my ex talked to Karen about obtaining a puppy for us. Today I have the best dog and companion anyone can ask for. I joke that she is a strong independent woman with love for only one man. I frequently receive compliments for how well behaved she is from other dog owners and people on the street. She is sweet, friendly, and it is clear who she knows and trusts. I can't talk about genetics on what she is because I don't care about that, she is my phenomenal dog. The only accidents she has had has been from poor ownership on my part. She came fully house broken at 8 weeks. She has never destroyed anything except for one pair of shoe laces. Today she knows sit, lay, roll over, spin, around, fetch, stay, off leash heel, and a few others. Storm has converted me to a shepherd owner from the labs I grew up with. These animals are incredibly willing to please and learn. She blew out her CCL which was an expensive surgery and I've dealt with that in the past with other dogs. I wish I took the drive to pick her up and meet the people who bred my best friend. I know another White Shepherd from the Farms as well and that dog is great too, there are no injuries on them. I would love to have another dog like Storm and will in the future when the time is right. I know she will help me raise the next pup I have. Shepherds aren't for everyone and she has not been the easiest dog to raise, but she's easily the best. read more

In 2004, I got my first wolf hybrid from Chaparral Farm. He was the best companion in the world! He was healthy, extremely intelligent, gentle and a huge lover. He passed away in early 2016 due to old age. I got another puppy from Chaparral in late 2016. He is now 3 years old, and is another wonderful, healthy, smart, loving dog! Chaparral raises loving puppies that are very family oriented. They are companions, not pets! I have visited Chaparral Farm on three occasions. This was a great place for the first three years we had our dog. He was given the "vitamin supplements" that was recommended, feed "Blue" food, and given the best vet care money could buy. However, after two years he had to have both meniscus / knees replaced due to bad joints. By year four he had developed heart cancer ( the vet said it was due to extreme inbreeding). After doing additional research this puppy farm has cycled through several dig registration organizations. There are many other owners that have had similar problems. Do your homework on these guys there are tons of postings all over the internet (rip off report, bbb, http://realwolfdogs.tumblr.com/wolfdogbreeders, ect). I wish we had! Spoke the Highland County Humane Society and the Department of Agriculture who informed this establishment has been under review multiple times. They are a puppy mill and treat their animals in an unethical, poor manner. I saw another reviewer comment how sick his dog was after adopting here and read the owners response. The owner fails to realize on multiple sites, including ripoff and google reviews, there are numerous customers claiming their dogs were/are ill and that their DNA results came back showing they weren't the breed the purchaser paid for. It is pretty sad when two agencies inform me that this is a terrible organization that has gained business via false advertising on their website and has preyed upon consumers who don't do their research and trust only what they are told. I picked up my high content wolf dog pup in Feb. 2008. After looking at many Native American tribal names for wolf, I ended up naming Bluess I am a Michigan alum. Blue is now 10 1/2 and still runs like a pup. He is well known in my city and is wonderful in every social situation Karen said to socialize him, he is always with me. We recently did a Meet the Wolf night at a Zchick til a. Over 300 people came. Blue also goes to aretirement home every Sunday we are in town. We due wolf programs elementary schools, And two years he has been the wolf in productions of Peter and the Wolf. He was featured several years ago in the Zionsville In Current newspaper. Blue has been perfectly healthy except for a fatty tumor removed 4 years ago. I had to comment after seeing negative reviews about Karen and Jim. From picking him out at 2 weeks, bringing home at 5 weeks , his training by them, everything was done kindly and professionally. I'll end by saying Blue's favorite night is Halloween. Visited an Amish feed "store" today and out back there was a greenhouse where I could hear barking. I asked if I could see the dogs, and was permitted. It was awful. The kennels were so packed with mud and feces it looked almost like concrete. No food in a single bowl, very little water and the ones who did have water, there was green muck floating in the bowls. The animals were definitely in need of medical attention, but especially one shepherd female. The dog was beyond skinny, it was close to death. I asked about her and was told she was "just old". I asked if she was ready to be retired from breeding, but he responded that he lost money on her so he wanted at least one more litter out of her. I asked where he got the animals and surprise surprise it was Chaparral Farm. They have been to this Amish feed store i know for a fact. They know exactly what is going on there. If you truly love the breed, this wouldnt be happening. You should be ashamed, you portray compassion and are nothing more and no better than the puppy mills you supply!!!! read more

I have searched for white German Shepherd for months and finally reached their website recently. When I went through their web site page by page. They are very clear to inform the audience what they are offering. After the first time spoke with Karen, "I" really wanted a wolf dog. But I still needed my husband's commitment because get a puppy is really like a matter of having a baby. It is a lift time commitment. My husband first of all didn't feel comfortable with "wolf" dog because there might have a lot of uncertainty in their gene. Therefore he did tons of research about wolf hybrid. After that, our family spent hours on the phone with Karen to consult more information about their wolf dog and white GS. Thank you very much for Karen's patient. She answered us all the questions professionally. Through the conversation, we found out that Karen and Chaparral Farm is very responsive and experienced. We also checked with them about the coming litters parents' bleed line information. Karen could answer us quite clearly about the father and the mother's far back history. Think about that they can run their business for decades, they should have a great reputation. Therefore we finally have decided to adopt the puppies from their upcoming litters.
