We found solutions and her fee for service was extremely reasonable. Her credentials are top notch - IRS Enrolled Agent (EA). For my 2023 policies, my homeowners insurance carrier stopped offering policies in CA, and I was forced to switch over to another provider. I made the switch through Stone Creek but they never notified my mortgage lender of my new policy / carrier, so the lender thought I didn't have a policy and charged me for one of theirs. It took 6 months before I noticed and had to work with them to get a refund. My renewals for 2024 are actually coming up in less than 2 weeks and I have yet to receive any updates despite multiple attempted reach outs to my account manager (Robin). Ironically, I've been trying to get in contact with her for over a week (called and left a voicemail, left messages with two different receptionists) and it was only after I posted this review that I received an email from her. I shopped quotes with the same carriers directly, and am getting lower quoted rates, so at this point between the total radio silence and the higher cost of doing business with Stone Creek, I'm uncertain what SCIA's value add is. Ultimately, I ended up switching over to Jeff Wong out of Bencia and ended up saving $600 / year on my homeowners insurance alone with same carrier (Mercury). I swapped my Umbrella policy over as well, but kept my auto insurance as is as the carrier (Oregon Mutual) was still the best option.

But lately customer service is horrible. Sure, they respond quickly when you say you want to open a new policy for something. But have a question? Need other assistance? Just crickets. I think they had major turnover since the height of the pandemic and nobody seems to be local anymore. When I do talk with anyone, it's always a different person from out of state. Worse of all, when I sold a rental property and requested to cancel the policy, they cancelled the WRONG policy and I went almost 6 months with my home not being insured! I didn't realize it until much later of course because every single time I asked them to confirm my policies, they never responded. It's time to find a new broker. So sad because they used to be fantastic.

We had the pleasure of working with Jill Finn of TANGERINEdesign LLC when our longtime designer was…read moreunavailable -- so she walked into a situation where we were already feeling a bit off balance. But from day one, Jill exceeded our expectations. The project involved tearing down an old, dilapidated screened-in porch that had never really worked for us -- too cold in the winter, too hot in the summer -- and transforming it into a usable interior room. We wanted to keep the light and airy feel of a porch while gaining insulation, comfort, and year-round usability. We also wanted ideas for built-ins: maybe a window seat, maybe bookshelves -- we weren't quite sure. Other contractors over the years had taken one look at the porch and declined to get involved due to its age and condition. Not Jill. She had ideas right away. Jill brings so much energy, creativity, and practical knowledge to the table. Even while juggling big personal commitments (like her son's graduation across the country), she delivered several strong design ideas within a few weeks -- and they were fresh, inspiring, and budget-conscious. She collaborated easily with our civil engineer, adjusting her drawings quickly to meet his needs. She also understands our local codes and regulations really well, and met directly with our contractors to make sure her designs were realistic and executable before we got too far into the process. On top of all that, Jill has a fantastic personality. She made the experience fun and engaging, and she brought a sense of momentum and confidence that really helped us move forward. I can't recommend Jill highly enough -- her creativity, responsiveness, and enthusiasm make her a true gem. If you're considering working with TANGERINEdesign LLC, you're in excellent hands. Lastly, we loved tapping her creative mind; she has the ability to look at a space and give you plenty of ideas for it that you might not have even thought of! Firstly, I was super busy flying for work when I remodeled my condo. I talked to several contractors before I came across Larry/Jake, and immediately I knew I found the one. All other contractors asked me what I wanted to do with the condo. Larry/ Jake saw my place and gave me a list of possible improvements. I told them I'm busy so they took the initiative to be more proactive. They asked my design taste, and they came up with everything and all I had to do was "yup I like it" or "nope let's try something else" (99% spot on!). Secondly, they are very professional. Once remodeling started, Jake was very good about communicating progress and giving me detailed updates. This isn't the first time I'm remodeling a place, so I know how things can quickly go wrong- Jake and his team was extremely detailed and particular about how to do certain things so the end product would look great. And it does. AND I get all the credit from my friends who visit my place! Thirdly, they are flexible with budget. I could tell they are all about "quality" not about being the most cheap. When I expressed my concern around budget, they came up with many many ideas to fit my design needs yet wallet too. For example, instead of covering the entire bathroom wall with expensive tile, just cover one wall so it's cost effective yet makes a statement. For kitchen appliances, Jake went far and beyond to find stainless steel appliances that look good, got good reviews, fit the original size, AND super affordable! I can't imagine how many hours it must have take him to do that. Larry and Jake, thank you so much for all your hard work! I love my place!!
