I did my first class at 9Round via Class Pass. I arrived for my appointment in the morning and rang…read morethe doorbell. The trainer let me in, instructed me where to put my stuff, had me fill out some forms, and gave an overview of what to expect. I honestly did not know what to expect when I first arrived, but I was not expected to jump into the workout immediately. He explained what to expect in less than three minutes. I was given maybe less than a minute to stretch and get ready before my first round was up. It was nice to be able to see the workout on the screen and get some help from the trainer when needed. The staff was really nice and gave me tips when I hit the kickboxing rounds. I learned that you could drop in whenever you wanted, and there weren't structured times or appointments required since all of the workouts were on the screens. I found that I enjoy workout classes that have an actual instructor more so it wasn't for me.

It was hard but my lungs feel like they expanded after I did the workout. I liked circuits even if it was hard. Instructors on the TV at each round. It's quick and easy. The in person trainer was courteous when instructing me on exercises, kept me safe during punches and kicks, and answered my questions on boxing gloves. 3 other adults came after me and the other 2 in front of me exited the gym after their workout. I am shopping for gyms to keep a work life balance during the winter season. So 9round was first on my list. I found this place through classpass and enjoyed my experience.

All I ask from my sons is that they put in the effort and improve just a little more every time they come to class. We've seen those small improvements that end up being big improvements when added altogether. Overall very happy with Roots. Impressed how much you can get for the price - and we only go to the Muay Thai classes. The only downsides I can think of is - Limited parking - Pretty crowded classes (but not overly) - very small entryway. Hard to get in and out But those are all negligible tbh.

Before Roots, we spent several years at another gym, but when it shut down due to Covid, we decided to give Roots a try--and it turned out to be the best thing that came out of the pandemic. Roots is more than just a gym; it's a family-friendly environment where both adults and youth can learn authentic Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, all under one roof. The coaches here are phenomenal--highly skilled, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about martial arts. They provide structured material and a clear path for learning, making it easy to see consistent progress whether you're a beginner or experienced. One of the things we love most is how inclusive the gym is. Whether you're single or have a family, Roots has a place for you. For us, it's been incredible watching our youngest son thrive. He's not only learning the true discipline of martial arts but also gaining confidence, focus, and life skills that will stay with him forever. If you're looking for a gym where you'll feel supported, challenged, and welcomed, Roots is it. We're so grateful we found this place--it's truly one of the best decisions we've made as a family!

I was taking muay thai classes for years but he was able to help me with fixing my bad form. He's definitely the person to see if you want to become better with your technique in all the different moves in Muay Thai. He's also very good at communicating and patient. He definitely knows what he's doing and is able to communicate it to any level fighter. I definitely recommend anyone to take lessons from him, he's worth it!!

The advantages of getting private Muay Thai instruction as opposed to just taking a class at a gym is the hands on, one on one instruction you are getting. Especially from someone like Lawrence, who is constantly looking over you making sure you are doing things the correct way. You can tell he wants you to get the technique down the right way. He also works at a pace that you're comfortable with. Other things I'd like to add are that Lawrence does not have an ounce of arrogance in his body and is very down to earth. He never talks down to you and to some, that means alot. Anyone taking any type of Muay Thai should definitely check out The Machine Private Muay Thai Instruction.

I enjoy that they offer heart rate monitors and gamify the session because I'm competitive and end up wanting to beat my previous scores, and the post workout email is fun to look at. I always leave 9rd feeling better than I went in. Highly recommend, and also convenient that it's inside 24 hr fitness because I'll get a nice warm up and stretch in both before and after.

The Fremont location of 9Round is such an amazing, inviting place to workout. I've been coming to…read morethis 9round for about 6 months now, and I go about 4-5 times a week. The premise of the entire workout is that you have a 30 minute kickboxing workout without having to make an appointment, so you can make it work around your schedule. This location is open from 6-10 am and 5-9 pm on weekdays, and 8 am - 12 pm on weekends, making it perfect for early risers and night owls. While the workout itself is about 30 minutes, I usually am there about 45 minutes, with about 15 minutes allocated for getting my wraps on and doing a short warmup, plus packing up after the workout. If it's during a particularly busy time (think between 5:30 to 7ish on a workday) then I would add about 5-10 minutes to that. The trainers do a good job of moving people around if need be, but if you want to start at Round 1 they accommodate that, although you will have to wait. I've seen people of all ages and ethnicities come in to workout, which is always really great to see. The rates ranges from $79-99 per month depending on how long you sign the contract for. There is a one time fee for the gloves and wraps (although this varies based on the promotions they have). You can go an unlimited number of times per month. The logistics are obviously great for anyone who is looking to fit in a workout, but what makes the Fremont 9Round stand out are the amazing trainers that make you want to come in just to say hi to them (meaning you have one more reason to do your workout)! Jhayden, Nic, Jacob, Chris, Faye, Dana, Titus always have such an amazing, positive energy that whatever your day looks like, coming into this 9round and sweating it out with them is bound to make you walk away with a smile on your face. The trainers also adjust the workouts according to your skill level and keep an eye on if you need to stop and take a breath. Even though I had been working out regularly for 2 years prior to joining 9Round, the workout really does kick your a**. I also appreciate that once you start getting more accustomed to it, the trainers provide small tips to improve your stance and form so that you don't injure yourself. I'm honestly surprised that this location doesn't have a ton of great reviews, because the entire experience is probably one of the best gym experiences I've ever had. Unfortunately I'll be moving out of the area - gonna miss 9Round Fremont!
