Hello,
The reason for this email is to inform you of why I am going to be cancelling all future appointments.
I came to ChangePoint on a recommendation from a close friend who lives out that way. I currently live in Rowlett, so it's just over an hour round-trip for me when I have an appointment. But I was okay with that, considering how highly recommended Dr. Strahan came.
However, what I have learned through my sessions with Mallory and Dr. Strahan is that I am worthy of respect and my time is valuable. I find this to be counter-intuitive, as I do not believe your practice is run in such a way to make your patients actually feel valuable and worthy. Rather, we are punished.
I had a counseling session with Mallory scheduled on Tuesday 8/13 at 1:00pm. I woke up vomiting with a migraine at 8am. I immediately called and explained. I was immediately charged $75!!! All because I was not able (due to my lack of psychic abilities) to let you guys know 24 hours in advance that I was expecting a migraine. I understand that the doctors time is valuable and that you have this policy to prevent no call/no shows. But I also believe that if you have a patient with NO history of missed appointments, you shouldn't charge them for getting sick and being unable to drive an hour.
I also requested an appointment with Dr. Strahan on Thursday, 8/22 at 8.45am. I know I requested Thursday, because that is my day off. I showed up and was told that my appointment was on Friday. This was an error on the part of your office, but I was not given $75 for MY time. I had to cancel the Friday appointment. The reason I did not schedule an appointment on Friday was because I had to be at work at 8am. This time, luckily, I was not charged for the cancellation. I rescheduled for today, which required me shifting my schedule around, so that I could come to work at 11am. I was called into my 9.45am appointment at 10.15am. Again, I was not given $75 for MY time. I would need to leave your office at 10.15 to make it to work on time. So at this point I'm already late this morning! But I wasn't about to cancel and be charged! Dr. Strahan spent a whopping 10 minutes with me asking me how I felt (pissed off to be honest) and if he had seen me before (nice touch). He then prescibed me Lexapro after our "detailed" conversation. I won't be picking up that prescription.
So, in a nutshell, I highly recommend that if you are going to provide therapy and tell people that they are respected and valued, you should treat them as such. I would also highly recommend a $75 refund back to my account. I'm extremely disappointed and unhappy with the lack of professionalism I have received during my time as a patient. read more
