Id show a photo if i didnt plummet the pancake remains into the trash bag, but try and imagine it. A circle with 2 large chunks missing on the side, pick it up, its stiff, it feels like hard crust after over toasting bread. You take a fork to it and you can scrape it and hear it very loudly. Im only writing cuz i was hungry, and i get this. Maybe think again when u get pancakes here.

No long wait, it wouldn't have been a pretty sight if there was a wait. As I exited, I purchased a few items for the trip home. The outdoor pumping area was clean & getting to the pump was 'Easy like Sunday Morning '. So I paid for my gas, pumped & on the road again was I. Busy area of the highway, glad to find this station in great condition & available to me for my needs.

Yes, it does smell a bit off inside, I'm not sure what it was either. The main convenience is the gas, which is on the cheaper side of the average price for the area. But, unless you are heading east on West Esplanade, you will have to make a U-turn to get into this spot. It is easy access in and out. The convenience store is well stocked with all of your basic necessities.

No matter, it gets the "fill'er up" job done & that's what matters huh? Going inside, you can find just about whatever you need from oversized white t's to Saints "dat girl tshirts" (i purchased one, real talk) to air fresheners (my most recent purchase) to glass bongs (hand to the Bible) to cologne to boiled eggs (again, hand to the Bible) and of course glazed twist donuts... you get the idea. Walking past the panhandling vagabonds is a MUST... don't encourage bad behavior. I prefer this gas station for odds & ends versus getting gas. I mean right across the street & usually the same price or sometimes cheaper priced, you can get a better quality of gas. Buuuuuuut, be warned if you must go into the place across the street, you will be assaulted by stench of old smelling chicken grease... YUCK, gag me with a spoon!!!!! But back to Fuel Zone review: Like I said, odds & ins... if you want them, this place has them. Gas, if you purchase it OUTDOORS, is better across the street.

Overall cleanliness of this location is acceptable. There's a gas station directly across the street that I try to avoid, mostly because of the pan handlers or some company set up there trying to sell me a 'car wash' in a can. Not to mention someone trying to sell me a CD (who still uses those?) or some cologne that I am unsure what fragrance it actually smells like. The prices here are typically the fairest I'm able to find. It's usually a toss up between this location and the brothers on Elysian Fields and 610, but they've gotten really bad with not keeping paper in the machines. I write all that stuff off of my taxes so the little things actually count here.

This is a pretty average neighborhood convenience store. It's pretty perfect if you just want to…read morepick up a soft drink, some beer or snacks, but don't expect much more than that. They have a big ice chest in the middle of the store where you can grab single bottles of beer. The coolers in the back have a few six packs of basic beer like Bud Light, Budweiser and Heineken. I was pretty happy to find a six pack of Stella Artois for a crawfish boil I was invited to, so that was convenient and the $10 price was pretty average. They have bags of candy, if you are in the mood for something sweet. They also have a few canned items and of course they sell lottery tickets.
