Came here to Chambers Barber Shop while on business trip to Dallas, TX since I wanted an "old time" barber shop about 3.5 miles from downtown. Worth the trip and "C.D." the owner was great to chat with and get acquainted. If you're into salon style cuts, and your in a hurry to get in and get out, then this isn't the place for you; be prepared to 'sit a spell' waiting for the regular customers to finish up. Haircuts are $15.00 for men. Recommended! read more

First time was great besides the barber showing up after the posted hours in the window. Tried to go at around 4:30 (should be open according to the sign) but the barber said he was closed even though he was just sitting there hanging out. Went there around 1:30 during the week, and his assistant said he was at an appointment, which is understandable. But I will never go back because this guy who helps him clean his barbershop was begging for money while hanging out inside of his business! read more

First time here. Great guy, super friendly and likable. $17 for a haircut and a massage to finish it off. They also have a station to shine shoes. This will be my go to barber moving forward. read more

Only been going here for a few months but at this point I'm debating driving all the way downtown from work in Plano at lunch cause I don't want to go anywhere else. I may just dip out of work early to get down before they close. That's my review. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I'm far from a haircut connoisseur. I usually get a biannual cut that takes me from a jew-fro shrubbery to glorified buzz cut and I'm not very picky how it turns out. However, this is my third trip to Chambers and I really enjoy this place... Far from glamorous, the faded yellow chairs, cobbled together shoe shine station, and rather dower interior has probably remained unchanged the entire thirty years these guys have been cutting but this is fine by me. Wanting to preempt the the total resemblance to a chia pet I came in to get a trim and was very happy with the result. He took his time and was very confident and no nonsense. Also, when you finish you get a straight razor shave to the back of the neck AND a little back massage. Did I mention it was also only $12? Sweetness Also, don't come in with plastic, cash only... read more

Showed up this morning at posted hours of operation and no one shows up for the time I stayed, which was 45 minutes after their posted opening. read more

Yeah... probably don't go here. Not old school, just hagard. When the barber spun me around to face the mirror, my bad haircut was the second thing I noticed. The first was a gun on the counter. I guess he's gotta protect his cash-only operation. Unless $17 is literally the top of your budget, I'd recommend someplace else. read more

Fantastic business! Cash only joint. Don't be in a rush because the barber takes his time and does an excellent job. I got a haircut, beard trim, straight razor shave with the hot towel and heated lather treatment, and ended with the classic shoulder massage in an awesome vintage barber chair; and I even got my truck hand washed and dried from Kenny the shoe shine guy. All that for $40! read more

Fantastic, classic barber shop. Been around since 1932. Made my father-in-law's day!

I don't have much hair so every snip counts. Dean always does a perfect job, complete with great conversation. I love the straight edge on the neck to finish it off. Dean is a real barber with all the attention to detail you want. This place is a real throwback, which I love. Bring a couple of pairs of shoes as well to get a perfect shine from Kenny while you wait. read more

"D" is the man. Nice, tough & old school guy. Last of the classic style barber shops. This place is not for those who consider themselves PC, you will get over it. First come, first serve: so be patient when you arrive. Do not come in here if you are in a hurry. read more

This is a great classic barbershop. You get a haircut, a conversation and a relaxed atmosphere. There's nothing fancy or trendy about this place but that's why I liked it. $15 for a haircut is worth every penny. read more

Feels like you're back in time in a good way. I'm not interested in fads and chambers isn't either. I keep thinking Ron Swanson will walk in one day. read more

First time in I had a great experience. Second time in there were lots of issues...especially with customer service! I don't think I'll be returning unfortunately. I'd call ahead of time. Hours aren't the same as what is posted. read more

Great old school barbershop... $12 gets you a haircut, straight-edge razor on the back of your neck, and a neck massage. Plus, you get to enjoy the barbers bantering about the good old days. read more

This is truly one of the last great testosterone run barber shops in Dallas. The price of $12 is great and Mr.D takes his time to ensure you are satisfied with your cut. I have often seen guys walk in who have been butchered at salons elsewhere. Like most barbers, this place is closed on Mondays. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is cause the "yapper" has to go. Anyone whose been there knows what I'm talking about. The place could also use a little love with respect to decor, but that's the least of my concerns. Always a great cut at a good price - oh, and take cash. read more

Great Old school barber shop that still uses straight razor to clean you up. This is one of those places were you Slow down read the paper and talk about the weather and city politics while you wait. read more

Chambers Barber Shop - Go back in time and enjoy a professing hair cut, not one of those wam Bam and out the door you go places - Barbers Near Me - Dallas, Texas

This is hands down the best no-frills barbershop near Uptown. It's the kind of classic barbershop that your grandpa would take you to. Dean has been a barber longer than I've been alive, and it shows. I've had 3 haircuts here, and each has been excellent. Will be back again and again. read more

Went here on a Saturday around 11am. Left around 12:30 because 3 people were ahead of me. GREAT cut and the barber is friendly. Old school type of environment. The price is great w/ $17 for a haircut, and 20 second shoulder massage. I am 22 years old and he did a great job with my fade. Check this place out! read more

awesome place, so old school I couldn't stop smiling. my brother and I went for some old school straight edge razor shave. awesome conversations and an place just to be a guy. It is by far the best and cheapest place(12$) for a shave. If your looking for something to do with your guy friends come here for shave and convo. definitely going back for my hair cut and a good shoe shine. read more

Ok...first the bad. The store is clearly in need of some maintenance. A lot! Its in what would appear to be a less desirable part of Dallas. That said, as a newly transplanted Texan, I was happy to find this place. With only one full time barber left, a $15 price point, and Texas hospitality you know what you'll get. Since appointments are not accepted it will be hit or miss on wait time, but everyone seems to socialize during the haircutting process, including the barber and current customer. In fact the barber's chair is turned around 180 degrees from what I am accustomed to in order to allow both barber and customer to participate in any discussions. And despite all the friendly chatter and waiting customers I didn't feel like the process was rushed in any way. I'm a believer! Thanks Dee read more

This place is awesome. Traditional shop with a very relaxed and comfortable feel. Enjoyed good conversation and got an excellent cut. I'll definitely be back. read more
