Krystal is awesome. I never let anyone touch my beard with a pair of scissors or clippers in their hands, but it was too bushy and needed help that I didn't have the time to dedicate to. I took a leap of faith and made an appointment with S&S. Krystal did exactly as I asked and it looks great. It's not an easy task since it's a longer beard and I'm picky as hell. Bottom line....if you have a great beard that needs some attention, go see Krystal. She will make it look greater. read more

The concept and shop are nice. However 2 main issues, the haircut was terrible (typical fade blended with a hard part). Not sure they no fade from bowl cut. Also hard part was the size of the Grand Canyon. Was roughly $65 in total. Won't name the barber, but they need to do some training. read more

I paid $61 for a haircut at Scotch and Scissors, which includes a hair wash. After the barber had already cut my hair, I asked for one small adjustment--going slightly shorter on the sides. I was then told that if we made that change, there would no longer be time to wash my hair. That was frustrating, as the wash is part of the service I paid for. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, just a minor modification to ensure the haircut was done correctly. In addition, my part was done incorrectly and I had to ask for it to be fixed. The entire appointment felt rushed, and the final result was not up to the standard I'd expect at this price point. When you're paying a premium, you should receive the full service and a finished haircut, not feel hurried and lose part of what's included. read more

Arrived a few minutes early, checked in and had a beer while waiting. Tiffany came to the bar and escorted me to her chair and did a fantastic job of getting my hair under control. I went there I met that hair stylist namer Tracy who literally did not wash his hand after he ate lunch did not introduce himself . I have been a 15 year member and have had a good experience until today 10/15. I accommodate S&S last week by agreeing to come in 15 minutes early at 11:15 am because Josie needed help on her schedule. When I arrived today the front desk could see where they called me to come in 15 minutes early but they did not add me back in the schedule somehow, but that I could reschedule. Josie doesn't have time to do your appointment today. I live 30 minutes from this shop so I told her to cancel my 15 year Membership and she said I would need to cancel it in Houston because that's where the membership was purchased originally -- even though I have been coming to the Dallas location for the past 10 months. Front Desk Customer service needs some training. I will be sure to share this experience with others. read more

So this is a second review for the good folks running the Scissors and Scotch in the crescent. I'd particulate like to give them props for how they handled the pandemic. I am sure it was no easy task but they made it look easy. My membership was paused with no issues and zero pressure to get back in or lose prepaid cuts. They also were great about masking and asking guests about if they wanted their stylists to wear masks. These were not easy times to navigate and I had experiences with other establishments that showed no empathy to patrons. I really appreciate how the team handled everything and am going to be a customer and avid fan for much longer!!! read more

This was my first time at Scissors and Scotch in Dallas Uptown, and honestly I have to say it left a lot to be desired. As this was my first time booking, it said that I would receive a 15-minute consultation to go over what I wanted before the haircut. Instead, the stylist was 10 minutes late and rushed me when I was trying to explain what I wanted. During the haircut, I felt like the stylist seemed unengaged and cold, totally opposite what I've felt from other high-end barber shops I've been too. It made me feel like my business didn't really matter. In terms of the haircut itself, I had been pretty clear from the start that while I did want to go shorter, I did not want to go too short, and even showed a picture to make it even clearer. Initially, it seemed like the stylist was barely taking anything off, so I requested if we could go a little bit shorter. They proceeded to chop off basically all my hair, essentially leaving me with a buzzcut. I'm now going to have to wear a hat for the next 2 weeks until it grows back. When the haircut was finished, the stylist hurried to the front to greet their next customer, leaving me behind to search for a personal belonging of mine they had placed at their workspace. As I was searching for it, one of the other stylists rudely said "It's right there, bud". I don't know about you, but if I'm dropping $60+ on a haircut, I expected to be treated with a little more respect than being called "bud". Finally when I was paying, I hadn't planned on leaving much of a tip, but instead of being given the option of filling it out myself on a screen or receipt, the receptionist straight up asked me what percentage I wanted to leave, which pressured me into giving a higher amount than I originally planned on. read more

This barbershop has an mazing ambience. The staff is extremely welcoming and genuinely wants to help you. I got my haircut with Stephanie, and it was one of the best cuts I got. It was easy to schedule my appointment as well. Keep in mind, the barbershop is inside the Hotel Crescent Court building, so it might be a small quest to find it at your first visit. I needed a quick beard trim since I was in the area and not from around here. I have a uneven beard which makes it very quick and simple. She spent a total of 10 minutes and left little hairs on my neck and just wasn't friendly at all. Maybe she was just grumpy this morning but for such a simple beard trim that costs $30 you should make the client always feel good and she didn't even offer to trim my nose hairs or ask me. I make $60K a month but I'm dressed like a 20 year old kid and I guess that's not normal around here lol read more

My boyfriend had an appointment with Augustine. He stated the atmosphere was very welcoming with cool decor. The front desk lady was friendly and assisted right away. Augustine was very tentative with outstanding customer service. His most favorite thing about his experience here was chatting with Augustine. As for the services he received it was average nothing special and overpriced. If it wasn't for Augustine I don't think he would go back. All I can say is WOW. I'm usually pretty skeptical of places like Gent's Place and the Boardroom Salon but S&S exceeded my expectations. The customer service was friendly and attentive, and the location was easy to find. They validate up to two hours so no worries there. Nana was the stylist who cut my hair and she knocked it out the park. I've experienced a lot of stylists unable to do an undercut with my hair but Nana gave me exactly what I wanted. Great haircut and overall experience. Kailey is an excellent stylist, who makes sure to ask questions and take time so that your haircut is exactly what you want. I was very happy with the 25 year cut. (Took me a second to realize that it was a Scotch analogy - more years = fuller service.) The space is brand new, well laid out, and looks great. You can park in the surface lot between the building and the Shake Shack if there's room or you can park in the underground lot and they'll validate your ticket. read more

Supercuts quality haircut at a salon price. This place is unique as they have a huge bar in the back and every $50+ haircut comes with a free drink. However the haircut is subpar (I've had equal or better at great clips, sports clips, Floyd's etc) They over book people and seem to rush through the haircut unless you get the top notch one which comes with a few extras. My suggestion is to go have a drink at a bar and get a better $50 haircut elsewhere. read more

Long story short: Expensive, unwelcoming, mediocre whisky in a tacked on bar setting, overly done wannabe hunting lodge decor, insulting service, fine if easy haircut, told to upgrade because my hair was too difficult. Result: not going there again. Disappointing and overpriced, this place should be called Scotch & Scissors since they seem like the bar is the bigger draw. In the Crescent and at a luxury haircut cost I expected super high quality experience, a bit of pampering, the whole thing. Instead I was told I could get a free glass of middle bottom shelf whiskey after the most mediocre haircut of my life. My barber/stylist Ginger spent more time than necessary explaining how difficult my hair was than seemed 1) necessary or 2) valid given I asked for a guard cut. By the end I felt like I needed to pass her criticism on to my parents for the poor genetics they left me with. This culminated in being told she didn't want me back as a customer (after the first cut) and I should probably upgrade to their master barber to handle the difficulties. Given I have been able to get good results at home with a $50 set of clippers from Target (I just don't like the clippings everywhere and can't line up the neck) this seemed to say more about her confidence in her skill than about my cowlicks. read more

She made sure I got exactly what I wanted, gave me suggestions on what she thought would look best and took extra time to make sure everything was perfect (as it can be, I mean its a mullet). I've been coming to Scissors & Scotch with no issue for the past year and a half with no issue, until today. I scheduled an appointment for 11:15am when I arrived they told my stylist was running behind and they needed to schedule me with someone else. No problem with that at all. 10 min go by and I see the stylist I had the appointment with finish up and is walking around. 20 min pass and still no word. The stylist I had the appointment with is still just walking around. 35 min pass and still nothing. Finally I gave up and walked out.
