If you have children, DO NOT MOVE HERE!! My family and I moved here from California in May 2024. July 16, 2024 we notified the office management at the time of standing water outside our apartment to which they replied that they would have maintenance look at it (that never happened). We began complaining about our upstairs neighbors dropping cigarette butts onto our ottoman on our patio and along the patio because the rain would wash them onto our patio and we have a 2 year old and, at the time, 7 month old. We told management about the upstairs neighbors banging around and stomping around anywhere from 11PM-4AM as we have young children and my husband is a truck driver. Nothing was done to mediate the issues. Emails back and forth from September 2024 until May 2025 about these neighbors, their noise and their dog droppings they would leave littered across the front area of both our apartment and theirs. The management asked for proof and I literally got a picture of the girl taking her dog to use the bathroom and STILL nothing was done. New management comes in, Karla Hernandez (who's the property manager yet never on the property), who was notified of these issues and still refused to have mediation between us and the neighbors. Easter 2025 my husband had water with dog feces dumped on him while on the patio by the neighbor and reported it to an assistant the following day because Karla was not on the property and was told they would contact him by the end of the day or next day. They didn't. They waited until May 6th (almost 3 weeks later) to send a letter stating that May 9th there would be a mediation meeting. May 8th my husband got in an altercation with the boyfriend of the friend that was renting from the lease holders upstairs when he watched the boyfriend walking away from the dog poop his dog had just dropped. The following day I have the office assistant calling my phone telling me that the mediation had been rescheduled to the following Monday and a couple hours later Karla decided to do her job and ask about this altercation. During this phone call she had stated that she "[didn't] care about anything that happened before she got [there]." and that "maybe we should've picked a different place to live". It was a real slap in the face as a parent just wanting a sanitary and safe place to have my children be. The night of May 9th, as my husband was heading off to work, he found a notice to vacate the premises on our door and it was for both units. We've never had any notices or warnings against us and we were late on rent ONCE by a day because my husband was coming off of medical for getting sick shortly after Easter & testing positive for Hep A antibodies (which could quite possibly have been caused by the fecal water they dropped on our patio and all over our ottoman however many times). In June we had to contact the city (Village of Clemmons) because the standing water we reported in July the previous year was so bad that we were stepping in it to get into the apartment and to leave the apartment. it also had sat so long that algae began to grow and my children were getting bitten all over by mosquitoes laying their eggs in it. Karla, a day or two before we finished cleaning and moving out said she's having people spray and work on the leak because the city said something about it, not because we had. And now, Karla is trying to charge us for carpet replacement of almost $1400 because of "heavy wear and tear" but first she said it was because of detection of urine. These people are shady as hell and only care about what they can squeeze out of you. I've watched many people move out and they have a revolving door of maintenance men so you never know who is coming into your homes. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN! They do not care about your peace, your quiet enjoyment time, or your health; they care about lining their pockets!
