We just got here from spending 6 years in Los Angeles, and we want something out of the Catalan cuisine for an special night, so we choose Mexican (we love Mexican food). We look around and we found that the Chamaco is close nearby so it was an easy choice, and the reviews at the moment (2) were great. We had a table pretty easy, the restaurant was pretty full a good sign. We got the complementary chips and salsa. Salsa was ok but most of the chips were broken. The chef should use them for the chicken tortilla soup (not present in the menu). We ordered some fajitas and two margaritas. No body asked if we wanted the margaritas on the rocks or blended, we got them blended and I am thinking it was lemon frosty with a hint of tequila instead of margarita. But the worst was to come. When the fajitas came the salad came with carrot and olives, things I've never seen served in a Mexican in LA. The portion was small, the salsa was minuscule and my beef fajita was completely burnt. The tortilla was black burnt and the meat was dry. Simply bad cooked. The guy came and ask us how it was, and I lied, but our faces make him invite us to a margarita. First and last time for us. read more
