I was incredibly grateful to have it up front from an expert instead of getting mixed information on the internet. I will never forget how excited my husband and I felt after we left Tina's home and how confident we felt that we found a safe, thoughtful and loving environment. I appreciated and still appreciate her patience with all my questions and concerns. My daughter has flourished and loves taking out all her explorative energy at Tina's. Tina keeps her explosive energy engaged and makes sure that she is doing well in all areas of her development. We love the pictures and adorable videos she sends when our daughter is doing something cute. Our journey with Tina has felt like a community that encourages each other as we take on this rollercoaster of being a parent. My husband and I wished our little one could stay with Tina forever and it will be a tough bittersweet milestone that we will go through when my now 20th month old daughter is ready for the next adventure. As first time parents, my husband and I were anxious about finding the right place for her, but we watched her grow so much during her time there. She learned how to interact with other children, take turns, use good manners, and practice gentle hands. She also developed her fine motor skills, including learning to eat with utensils, learned letter sounds, and numbers. We feel that everything she learned at Busy Bee helped prepare her for preschool. She transitioned into preschool smoothly, and we are grateful for the skills she gained while she was there. One of the things I also appreciated most was getting daily updates and having the chance to chat with Yalda at pickup. It was always nice to hear about my daughter's day and how much fun she had. The early childhood years are so important, and Busy Bee provides that nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Your child will be loved here. They will grow as human beings. Sonia knows your child, what they're strengths are, they're interests, and wants to see them succeed. Miss Sonia's Daycare provides structure based on your child's development. In a group setting the kids learn basic rules, boundaries and manners. The kids receive a rotating breakfast, lunch and snack. And Sonia is very accommodating to dietary restrictions and allergies. There are different activities and toys so the kids never get bored. Sonia also changes the activities depending on the season. Some of the things they do is: sing songs, stretch, dance, color, paint, learn the alphabet , learn numbers, play with play-doh, read, jump in a bounce house, play with water in the summer, go for walks, learn about plants, learn to use scissors, learn to glue, go on egg hunts, go trick-or-treating together, go to the playground, play outside in under her covered backyard where there are slides and outdoor toys. This woman has the patience of a Saint. I've seen her help children going through behavioral issues: delayed speech, hitting, biting, attachment issues. The behaviors might be problematic but Sonia sticks with the kids during the good times and bad and I've seen them come out on the other side always for the better. Do yourself a favor and enroll in Sonia's Daycare.

They are especially attentive when it comes to safety and children's well-being. Whenever our daughter wasn't feeling well, the teachers took such thoughtful and careful care of her, which meant a lot to us as parents. They also have plenty of staff, so the children receive a lot of individual attention. Communication with parents is excellent--quick, clear, and very responsive. We receive daily updates on his activities including diaper change/naptime/food eaten/mood/summary of his daily activity! We also receive two emails every Sunday to prep us with the meal menu and the curriculum for that week that the teachers inculcate in the students. I feel the teachers go over and beyond to keep the kids engaged and happy! Cons - To respect other kids' privacy, they don't have a camera through which we can see the kids play in real time. Our son has graduated from Seedling but we love the place so much that he will be back for summer camp next year.

Though it's smaller, the school has everything a preschool could offer. I am constantly impressed by the creativity and passion of the teachers, who organize monthly events that make learning fun. My child, who is bilingual and had some delays in language, was a bit sensitive at first, but the teachers welcomed them with patience and warmth, truly treating them with genuine care. The low teacher-to-student ratio allows for personalized attention, not only in childcare but also in learning. They coach the kids on things like letters, numbers, holding a pencil, and table manners. The words my child now speaks are thoughtful and polite, thanks to the careful attention the teachers give to every interaction. Twice a year, we could have parent-teacher conferences to discuss in detail where our child is developmentally, and I believe 1:1 meetings are always available if any concerns arise. As first-time parents, everything was overwhelming and worrisome for us, but Ms. Katie was such a steady guide for us. The only downside for me was the distance, but it was well worth it. Smiling Faces fostered both education and growth of its students in such a nurturing environment. My son thoroughly enjoyed himself when he attended Smiling Faces all those years ago. On our very first day, Miss Katie had to pry my son off of me so that I could leave. He was crying because of his fear of separation and I felt horrible leaving him in that state. Miss Katie reassured me that he would settle and so I left with a heavy heart. Shortly afterwards, I pulled into a gas station and began crying myself Within a few minutes, Miss Katie texted me pictures of my son playing and smiling with the other children at the daycare which comforted my heart so. When I picked up my son that afternoon, he was happily and comfortably playing with the other students. It was as if he had been attending Smiling Faces for many months. Over our time there, I was able to witness firsthand Miss Katie's dedication to each of her students. She leads with kindness and love and it is quite obvious to all. looking for an elite education, while making learning fun? I highly recommend the small Newark Challenger campus on Ballantine and Cedar , it's the best kept secret in town! We stumbled upon Challenger because we drove by on a Saturday and saw the open house sign. From the moment we met the director Miss Michelle (25 years there) and meeting the staff ( Ms. Phaily the admin) , we knew it was the right fit for our son. We started in preschool half day summer program to test the waters and were we impressed from the first day! Our son has continued and is currently in the Kindergarten program and will transfer to the bigger Ardenwood campus next year. The small intimate campus is such a good opportunity for your child to receive a stellar education with a two to one teacher / child ratio for 19 kids!! it's like having a teacher and a personal tutor in one room. It's also a great opportunity to allow your child to get comfortable with the school environment and curriculum at a small campus, such as Newark Challenger . I'd like to give huge shoutout to Mrs.Becker and Ms.Ferguson ! Both teachers are truly amazing and have the most energy everyday! My son is excited to go to school and always has a huge smile when I pick him up. The teachers have made an huge , positive impact in my son all around, which is worth every penny ! All of the staff is happy ,friendly , and and profess not only does my son know every employee but I do as well. This 5-star review is long overdue. The curriculum, teaching standards, communication, and performances are excellent. This is the worst school ever. They expelled kids during COV19 Pandemic only because the parents urged school to shut down on Challenger's FB page, and Challenger retaliated as kicking the kids out. Totally cold blood action and don't give a sht about kids education/health. Avoid this school, any other schools wouldn't have done things like this. The playground is incredible and recently renovated with a Tiny Town and a little garden that the kids help tend to. The snacks are healthy and they try to mix it up. The bathrooms are really clean (weird thing to bring up but says a lot!) as is the whole facility. It's nicely air conditioned in the summertime and each classroom has its own HEPA filter. Doors to get into the lobby and another set of doors to the classrooms are keypad locked so it feels super safe. We loved all the opportunities we got to participate in (mother's/father's day breakfasts, Christmas musical, Halloween/Trunk or Treat, Easter egg hunt, etc). One of our son's favorite activities each Wed was chapel time led by Pastor Doug where he got to sing and dance with the whole school. When it came to COVID, the school always kept us updated on any changes in public health guidance and any exposures. We also really appreciated their approach to discipline which was firm but always loving and respectful. KH and FCC invest so much into the kids and if they expanded their program to elementary school, it would be a no brainer to stay. But alas, our son has aged out and we are sad to leave. If we ever find another teacher half as amazing as Mrs. Rana, who taught our son over the last year+, we will count ourselves lucky.

Teachers should be observers and guides to the students -- not lecture them on how to learn. The first day my child came home from school, he told me, the teacher scolded him. He explained why and I said next time dont do that. And then he explained that they were taught as a group, lectured. Like regular school. Not a montessori school. Why would I send my kid to montessori if it was like this? Why pay for this? The emails are also not very professional and lack information. There is a lack of effort as to the reminders of events. There was supposed to be a halloween parade but there was no info as to what time. And upon arriving there, there was no preparation as to the music or what. During zoom parent teacher conference, we did not yet finish our call yet but another parent was already let in to the zoom call, forcing us to wrap up our call. I never see her during the mornings or afternoons. Previous directors would always be there. I feel like there is a misstep here. Appointing a directress who is so inexperienced that it leaves much to be questioned. I hope someone can fix this soon.

Our kiddo is in kindergarten and watching her grow, both academically and socially has been really something. Let's start with the curriculum because it genuinely surprised us. It goes well beyond the basics. Kids get exposure to STEM topics, Spanish and even yoga, and there's still plenty of time carved out for outdoor play every day. It doesn't feel rushed or overly structured. The balance is just right for this age group. The food situation is also worth mentioning because not every school gets this right. Maple has a no microwave, no fridge policy, which sounds strict at first but it actually encourages parents to send fresh, healthy food. The school also provides healthy snacks. And if you're a working parent who doesn't always have time to prep a lunch, Ms. Radhika launched a fresh hot lunch program. You enroll at the start of the month and your child gets a freshly made hot lunch each day. The price is very reasonable (around $5 per meal), and even though we haven't personally used the service, we think it's a fantastic option for busy families. Another thing Ms. Radhika introduced is a partnership with Amazing Athletes, a dedicated sports program that comes in once a week. The idea is to introduce kids to a variety of sports so they can figure out what they actually enjoy, rather than being pushed into one thing early. It's a great way to get them moving and curious about athletics. The program runs about $80 a month and is totally worth it. On the practical side, parking is never a headache here. There's a dedicated lot with plenty of space, so you're never circling the block or rushing to a street spot at drop-off. Our kiddo and her friends sometimes hang out in the parking area after pickup for a little impromptu snack party, which tells you something about how comfortable and unhurried the whole vibe is there. The campus itself is really well set up. The playground area is nicely shaded, surrounded by trees and has a solid fence so kids can run around freely without you worrying. With only six classrooms, this is a smaller campus compared to some of the bigger Learn and Play locations, and that's honestly a plus. The staff knows every child, the class sizes stay manageable, and your kid doesn't get lost in the shuffle. For staying connected, they use the BrightPath Connect app, which sends you updates throughout the day so you always know what's going on. As a working parent, that kind of visibility is really reassuring. And then there's Ms. Radhika. She has been the heartbeat of this campus. She knows every child personally, is always available when parents have questions or concerns, and has built something that genuinely feels like a community. The warmth starts with her and flows through the whole staff. I can go on and on. In summary, if you're a working parent looking for a school where your child will be challenged, cared for, and truly happy, Maple Campus is absolutely worth checking out.
