So damn good
Grrlgenius M.

Good quality sandwiches. Not bland and boring like other sandwich places around the area. Ive had the turkey club and veggie, both were flavorful and well worth the price

Delicious sandwich and super nice people. They are locally owned. If you ever passed by Montana, make sure stop at this hidden gems place.

But, since this [Ace] hardware store used to be a grocery store, I guess it isn't that far out of the realm of possibility. Evergreen cafe is a small shop serving sandwiches, charcuterie trays, Wilcoxson's ice cream and the specialty of one of the owners: Kombucha. The brewmaster and his wife decided to open this small shop to do something different. Well, I guess a leap from engineer to kombucha brewmaster isn't what I would have expected, but from one science to another -- good for them. Each day you can stop in for a $5 grab and go box containing a half sandwich, maybe some chips, or vegetables, or a small serving of a salad of some kind. The salads are also available in containers for adding something to your at-home meals. There are at least two or three different kinds available at any time, and I've seen chicken, curry chicken, chicken apple, veggie, pasta salads. Of course, you can have a sandwich made there with your choice of meat (or egg), and cheese and you'll certainly not be disappointed in the serving size. So far, though, the charcuterie trays have been a winner for me. There are several different kinds, whatever she feels like putting into the particular tray along with the vegetables. Sometimes fruit, sometimes crackers, or different meats but they're made fresh every morning and she guaranteed each tray would contain at least a pound of something -- good for a small party -- or a couple of days of lunches or snacks. The kombucha is available in about four or five flavors. It doesn't have the sharp tang of some kinds, and the flavors are more muted, but they're still good. This time of year the cherry is must-try. Social distancing is handled well, here. There are a few tables, spaced far enough apart to meet the requirements, and that makes it easy to sit and enjoy your sandwich and perhaps chat with friends.

Just about the time you think it cannot get any worse, welcome to FIREHOUSE SUBS, on King Ave,…read moreBillings Mt. We thought it was a great idea to go and get a few sandwiches yesterday so we stopped at FIREHOUSE SUBS. One large Italian, One large meatball and the worst of them all, a large NEW YORK STEAMER ( Pastrami, well it was supposed to be ) I asked for all them to be on white bread and of course one was on wheat bread ( the worse wheat bread I have ever tasted ) When you enter the place there is a great big wall or "Blinder" on your right that is were someone is making sandwiches, all you can see is the tops of there heads as I am guessing 'someone does not want you to see what they are doing in the sub assembly line'. The Large Italian was as flavorless as they come, and the Pastrami had nothing on it, i did see what could be mayo? The meatball looked decent and of the 3 was not as bad as the other two, 65 percent all bread and very little meat of any kind....mystery or otherwise. The restaurant is well lit and has all that "Firehouse" vibe, but I have to say if you served a sandwich of this nature to a firefighter with mostly bread I would guess they would not be happy! I certainly was not. They did offer us a refund on the New York Steamer but I told the female employee I would take a sandwich instead....this time we will eat in!!! Why would you put so little of the meat on a "sandwich", I got two good mouth fulls of just bread.....absolutely disappointing and a total rip off in my opinion. John J. Nazarian

Sandwich was just ok. Staff was nice. Definitely wont go back without order ahead. Not worth the wait. Too bad because I would like to support them. Guess I'll be sticking with the "other" sandwich shops near by for now.
