But imagine my absolute surprise when I spied a shelf stocked with American candy, cereals, and snacks...including my favorite: Cheetos. Not even 48 hour prior, I was telling my husband that I would go to obscene lengths to have a bag of Cheetos, so strong was my craving for the vile snack food. So, it is a relatively small premise, but simply filled to the brim. Mainly this shop sells individual chocolates; cream filled, praline, nougat, dusted, dark and many more. They also sell a section of Thortons chocolates as well. Because I came in near Christmas there was plenty of Christmas gifts, such as chocolate Santa's and snowmen. I'm sure Easter is just as well represented. This is also a prefect place to pick up gifts. There are walls of chocolate gift boxes, ranging in size from a few chocs to around a hundred. I noticed the Sweet Shoppe stocks candy from many countries including a huge section from the United States, and even some sugar skulls my companion though to only be sold in Norway! The staff here are generally very knowledgeable and chatty: one spoke to me for a while about the band featured on my t-shirt. The only bad point is that you can spend more of your pennies than you expected here sometimes, but it is generally a great place to be and a diamond in Kingston.
