It was our second time visiting the winery but first time visiting the restaurant Staff were very friendly and the ambience was very relaxed. Perfect for a day trip get away not too far from the city Food was average. My main feedback was the temperature of the food, 2 out of the 4 items we ordered were lukewarm, including the soup. The cheese inside the panini we ordered was half solid half melted due to the temperature The side salad which came with the panini was a bit soft and too wet. My girlfriend's a member and organized a wine tasting for a bunch of us. We did this before we went and had lunch at The Bistro. But they have a lovely picnic area at the front of the winery and they sell bread and meats and cheese and dips that you can do your own picnic right in front and buy a bottle of wine or a glass. read more

We drove to Langley for lunch at this restaurant, Bachus Bistro. Food and presentation were good;6/10. Server was friendly and hospitable. My wife ordered the 10 oz rib steak supposedly medium rare but came as bit over done I had chicken dijionaise , chicken is a bit dry , sauce is a bit too much ( soupy). Came here in May of last year. Unlike other wineries, there aren't too many places to sit and relax inside, but they have some picnic tables outside. I found the service to be below average - they treated my friend and I as children and not as customers (basically did not think we would buy any bottles). I went there a few year ago and haven't been since. They way they treated me compared to others was astonishing. There were a few people in the wine tasting room and one individual was able to grab her wine from the cooler and pay - no questions asked and no issues. When I tried to do that the sales person absolutely lost it and told me you can't do that. Don't want to assume thar the difference between the other female and I was our races but it was just "eye opening" how different the 2 of us were treated. When I spoke to management their response was "well the person that spoke to you is married to an indigenous person so they aren't racist". This winery is picturesque. With large wooden picnic tables across the specious yard, barrels and the sign it offers not only a great view to enjoy your flight style wine but nice photo ops. Judy our wine counesseur was amazing! But the wine itself is exquisite. The quality of this wine is unbeatable. It was a shame we didn't buy any from the wine store. When we attempted to enter after our tasting the clerk was very unpleasant and we decided to leave. It's still worth a visit purely due to the wine and Judy! After finally arriving at a creative solution, advised we had to clean up our own table - which we had to do anyway when doing an unreserved tasting outside. Went there on April 24, 8pm dinner reservation at the Bistro for our second date. The waitress (tall, blond, heavy middle aged woman) had no etiquette. She offered him, instead of me, to have a taste of the bottle of Syrah we ordered. My date and I were shocked! This continued throughout the evening as she got his orders first. Fancy name for a winery. There's a picnic area in the front, a Bacchus Bistrot, and a large wine tasting room. There's no fee for their tastings, but they do limit you to 3 types. I tried out their Riesling, Siegerrebe, and the Siegerrebe dessert wine. The dessert wine was great. There's 2 'brands' to their wines, the Domaine brand, and another lower priced line branded under Canoe Cove. The tasting was quite rushed, which I didn't particularly enjoy. I felt that this was a larger winery, so it was a lot busier. They also advertise many of their wines as part of the 100 mile diet. Considering returning to try out their restaurant. read more

Love this winery. Nice, clean wines for very reasonable prices. We did a blind wine tasting at my house with like 20 local wines. I had the red Chaberton blend and the white Chaberton blend among them and the majority of the guests loved the Chaberton blends. We used this data and brought in the wine for my wedding. We were not disappointed. So inexpensive for a good wine, it only cost $500 for 60 people. Like $12 a bottle The restaurant Baachus on the side of the winery is amazing. A little pricy, but well worth it. I take my wife once a year at least with 2 other couples. You sit near the vineyard, you can touch the grapes. Super romantic. read more

We checked in to picnic area and we waited an hour, checked in multiple time to see if there were spaces and they kept on saying a few minutes. When we checked in to say we'd waited an hour, they said they never recorded our name on the list. It was ridiculous and ruined our day. Very frustrating experience. And the wine sucked. read more

We've been to Chaberton a couple of times now, and they offer a very nice experience for the wine fan. Their tasting room is large and well-decorated, offering not only wine but tons of different wine-related accessories. They offer a free pour of your choice of three wines (when we went this past weekend there were seven to choose from - three whites and four reds). There is also a bistro on-site which gets good reviews, but we haven't tried it out yet. The tasting room staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there is no pressure to buy. Bottle prices range from about $15 and up. Our favorite was the white blend, which seems to be their best seller. Last year they had a rose which was also very good. read more

Yes, we go to wineries for the wine but also part of the experience is the service. This was my second attempt here, the first time we left due to rude staff in the tasting room. We ordered a flight since they're no longer doing tastings (cash grab) and the woman behind the counter was SO rude, unpleasant, and treated my friends and I as if we did something terrible. After our flights were poured I truly did not want to pay and taste them because of her attitude. The wine is delicious, but the customer service was embarrassing and appalling. I won't be returning and my friends are going to be canceling their memberships. True service is found down the road at other wineries. read more

Five stars for the bistro lunch today, the wine tasting was one star unfortunately. I've been here once before and had a fabulous wine tasting with Judy. Also bought lots of wine that time. I wanted to return when the restaurant was open, and brought with me a friend who had never been to a winery before. The wine tasting was a completely different experience than the first time I was there. This time, the service was cold, with no information provided on the 4 wines we tried. I did purchase 2 bottles of wine, and including that transaction the entire experience took less than 5 minutes. Disappointing and embarrassing as I had raved to my friend about the experience I had previously with Judy. The bistro lunch was superb. We each began with the French onion soup, followed by crepes for my friend and the vegetarian offering for myself. Both entrees were delicious and beautifully presented. We shared a chocolate dessert. All of this was washed down with some of Chaberton's red wines. The service was outstanding even though the restaurant was full. I was very glad to have made a reservation for lunch as they were turning away walk ins. Bottom line - make sure Judy is working the wine tasting room before you go. If anyone at Chaberton reads this my suggestion would be they check out how their wine tastings are conducted. If this had been my first time at this winery I would have cancelled my lunch reservation and not purchased anything. You have a wonderful product and just a beautiful venue. Celebrated a girlfriends birthday luncheon at the winery bistro. Wonderful service; smiles all around and glasses constantly topped up. The kitchen coped well with our semi-large group of 10. Food was excellent, we all had an array of various dishes from the mussels to the roasted butternut squash stack. All of which were delicious. Some of the girls got the three course lunch deal, which was excellent value for quality and quantity. I would recommend Chaberton Estate bistro to all my friends & family. read more

We wanted to go to a winery during the fall, somewhere close but not too close and not too far. Domaine De Chaberton had great reviews on Yelp, but more importantly great reviews with the international community. Primarlly with the small Japanese tour groups and the tour companies that promote this place. Coco Tours being one of them. We wanted to do the wine tour, but before that, we went to the Bacchus Bistro in the back for some late afternoon dinner. (interestingly all the Yelpers that have reviewed this place are all good reviews and knowing them and what they like helps.) The specials of the day were quiche and cream of mushroom soup. So I asked for both. Both of which were very good. The soup, earthy, not too creamy, well blended and seasoned nicely. The quiche was a good size came with a salad on the side. Altogether a very nice light meal. The wine, gosh darn it, I can't remember the name, but was on a scale of 01 dryness and was clean and crisp and young. Decent pairing for the quiche. Something a bit heartier would have gone better with the soup. Coincidentally talking about Japanese tours, there was a group there at a table having lunch. Alot of bowing ensued and polite demure gestures and we sat down at our table. They were teachers from a high school that Yumiko Shaku went to. Cool!!! After the dinner, we went to the tasting room. No fee for the tastings and we even got to sneak in the fourth type after buying some wine. The Canoe Cove brand would make for some very good wine sauces. a hearty red perfect for tomato pasta sauces is next on my list for home cooked meals. Domaine De Chaberton is a summer time family favorite. Although the menu in the dining room is somewhat limited the food is very tasty and when paired with the very affordable wine it is just that much better. The only complaint I would have with the dining room is the heat. The last couple times I have been there the heat was unbearable. read more

If you think I don't like wine then you don't know Donnie! Chaberton was absolutely stunning, I would take multiple photos of this place, frame them and hang them around my home. I went with me fiancé and we tasted 4 of the wines and left with two full bottles! Tipsy alert! The wine gets better and better with every sip you take. The picnic area was a great place to moisten your gullet with some of the finest wines. We recently enjoyed a lunch there that rivaled any top quality restaurant I have eaten in for some time. We started with mussels in a sauce that had us wondering if we had ever had any mussels this scrumptious before. Superb does not adequately define them. Our main courses of a curry roast lamb and a roasted double rack pork chop were not only outstanding, but were so large in quantity that we took home the dreaded doggy bags and had more than enough for dinner that night. I can't even imagine how large the dinner portions must be. A word of warning is that every entree seems to be served in the French style of a lot of rich sauce (guess that's because the winery has a French name) and while they taste wonderful, if you aren't a sauce person, you need to ask if they can cut it back. Of course we also had a couple glasses of their wine which was very good but I'm sticking to my guns about BC wines being over priced. I guess I didn't mind too much though since the food was great. Our server, Beverly, was very professional and attentive and while the restaurant ambience is wannabe outdoorsy French, it doesn't quite succeed but is certainly adequate-and did I mention-the food was incredible and given the quantity, the prices are quite reasonable. read more

I still bought a few bottles for friends because I want to support local business but it had nothing to do with Judy. We enjoyed dinner at Bacchus Bistro very much. The Boef Bourguignon was fork tender and beautifully seasoned, with pearl onions and fragrant mushrooms. The Lois Lake trout was a moist, tender morsel on a bed of roasted peppers; trout magnificent, peppers not so much. The chicken was sublime. Standout was the wilted spinach salad with generous amounts of fresh walnuts, and carmelized onion. The lobster bisque had us moaning with pleasure. Nice touch was the servings of scalloped potatoes to share; creamy, delightful, and comforting on a very crisp fall evening. Knowledgable wine pairings. Lovely chocolate mousse for dessert. Service was truly lovely, friendly but not in your face. Bacchus Bistro is a perfect spot for a french-service dinner. A lovely room, fireplace aflame, high ceiling, french doors open to a beautiful yard in good weather. A bit of a drive to get to south Langley, but worth it. We arrived for lunch towards the end of their lunch time. I had been here once before, years ago, so wasn't sure what to expect. Regardless, they were pleasant and accommodating. They didn't make us feel like we were putting them out and the food was delicious. If you haven't been there, the atmosphere and surroundings are very enjoyable and relaxing. After a lovely meal we wandered over to the wine store, where we naturally bought some wine to take home to enjoy. I haven't eaten here, so this is just for the wine shop... This winery is really lovely. It's got a beautiful shop and a huge range of wines to try. They don't charge for a tasting and they have a detailed list of their wines and tasting notes handy. I found their staff (Kady in particular) to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I was getting some wine for a fundraiser and they were happy to let me and my friend try a few more wines than the 4 wine limit because we needed to pick several. The cheaper wines were really good, and their Canoe wines were on for $10 a bottle. Fantastic! The higher price point wines, which weren't really that much more at $15 - $20, were also great, and everyone at my fundraiser loved their gamay noir, which is a variety I quite enjoy as well. I thought the Bacchus (white) was really excellent, too. They carry a couple different labels, including Canoe Cove and their Domaine de Chaberton wines. Some grapes are grown in the Okanagan (Canoe, I believe) and some are grown in the Fraser Valley (Domaine). I will be back next time I need to stock up. I love that they have labelled some of the wines as 100 mile diet friendly! read more
