Rib eye

We drove to Langley for lunch at this restaurant, Bachus Bistro. Food and presentation were good;6/10. Server was friendly and hospitable. My wife ordered the 10 oz rib steak supposedly medium rare but came as bit over done I had chicken dijionaise , chicken is a bit dry , sauce is a bit too much ( soupy). We enjoyed the side scalloped potatoes. We will go back though as we enjoyed the atmosphere and the view of the vineyard.

Stick with the whites. Amazing. Highly recommend the whites and end with the rose. Bacchus was the fav. And a shout out to the customer service. Very knowledgeable and pleasant staff.

Came here in May of last year. Unlike other wineries, there aren't too many places to sit and relax inside, but they have some picnic tables outside. I found the service to be below average - they treated my friend and I as children and not as customers (basically did not think we would buy any bottles). The wine tastes fine but the experience made it a little unpleasant. We were a quick in & out because of it. Full review: https://sincerelyloewe.com/wine-tasting-in-langley/

Disappointed. Although COVID friendly, less than friendly service today. No alternative for no spittoon (not having one is logical). After finally arriving at a creative solution, advised we had to clean up our own table - which we had to do anyway when doing an unreserved tasting outside. Got "the look" and asked questions when the tasting glasses were returned half full. Used to such friendly service in the past but today was hugely disappointing. When at the next winery, advised that we could not have a full tasting because we were driving, an alternative was provided - in comparison.

Great ambiance! Classy and romantic all in one. Really good food and obviously the wine is flowing :) We sat on the patio, cozy table for 2. Cool outside but they provided blankets and an overhead heater. I totally recommend this place but be sure to make a reservation. Bring that someone special :) PS try the creme brûlée

Selecting the Chaberton 25th Anniversary Limited Release Gamay Noir, yesterday from our wine storage locker was a big mistake. I don't know what we were thinking at the time of purchase, but I marked $35, on my list. We thought it would be fitting for our special occasion, perhaps our pairing was off. Unfortunately we have more than a dozen more of the Chaberton varieties, from 2014, maybe or yet again, be surprised with. Writing over 1100 reviews on another reviews site, I truly try to be fair with small business and knowing the difference between good, bad and just plain .....

Fancy name for a winery. There's a picnic area in the front, a Bacchus Bistrot, and a large wine tasting room. There's no fee for their tastings, but they do limit you to 3 types. I tried out their Riesling, Siegerrebe, and the Siegerrebe dessert wine. The dessert wine was great. There's 2 'brands' to their wines, the Domaine brand, and another lower priced line branded under Canoe Cove. The tasting was quite rushed, which I didn't particularly enjoy. I felt that this was a larger winery, so it was a lot busier. They also advertise many of their wines as part of the 100 mile diet. Considering returning to try out their restaurant.

Our disappointment

Good lunch. Good experience in tasting room. This was awhile ago, so I can't say for certain now.

We wanted to do the wine tour, but before that, we went to the Bacchus Bistro in the back for some late afternoon dinner.

Festina Lente Estate Winery - Ginger and lavender mead

We stumbled upon this place when the GPS took us on the wrong route to Chaberton Winery and lost…read moreour way. We decided to stop here when backtracking to Chaberton as it was on the way. Unfortunately the tasting of 6 different flavored mead made us a bit too woozy to go across to Township 7 vineyards for more wine tasting. Luckily there's a traveling tea shop on the lawn where we could sober up with some high tea food or sandwiches or charcuterie board. I never realized there are quite a fair bit of wineries in the Langley/Abbotsford area. You don't really need to go far to kelowna if you're short on time. We also saw horses out here. Too cute. And really a wonderful way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. This place specializes in mead. You can be a club member and there are special meads for members. They do a tasting for $10 which is waived with purchase of a bottle ($26). I love how the staff will tell a story or origins of the name for their different meads. Dry mead -- the original. I tend towards sweeter alcohol and I'm surprised I could drink this. Not overly sweet. It is light and crisp with a bit of bubbly (not fizzy) to me. Very refreshing. Ginger mead -- I like ginger but not in this mead. A bit herbal to me. Lavender mead -- it's the prettiest with the violet hue. It smells of lavender but the taste sticks for the longest time for me. Cranberry mead -- a light orange pink color. It's very tart. Vinum Regum -- 2 versions, we tried the reserved one which is aged for 90 days in oak barrel so it has a Smokey flavor like whiskey. It's really strong for me. Lvna (Luna) -- mulled mead which has winter spices like mulled wine. This is the sweetest. Very nice. They have other fruity flavors like pear. Lovely staff and definitely come here if you want some uncommon flavored mead.

Blackwood Lane Vineyards & Winery - Zombie vehicle because every winery needs a zombie vehicle

Blackwood Lane was our last winery tour stop and it was a good experience. We were the only people…read morethere and the lady assisting us was very pleasant and explained all the wines well. They have a few different tasting options and I opted for the lower end as I was uninterested in what they considered their high experience. It had a couple more red wine additions and honestly red wine isn't my favorite. The property was nice except for clear cutting of trees in the back which made me wonder what will happen in the future since the embankment is at a slope and since nothing will grow for months combined with frequent rain it seems like setting up for landslide conditions. That didn't make much sense to me. The vehicle outfitted in front for "zombies" seemed to attract the most attention, more than their wines. It was cool but also a bit out of place.

Before coming to Blackwood Lane, I knew they would be $$$ compared to the usual $$ pricing you can…read moreusually expect at a winery. I probably should have done more research before coming here, as I probably would have stopped myself from going. There were a few tasting options- $5 for three whites, $10 for two white and three reds, or if you really want to spend your money, $20 for for 7 reds. I went for the $10 deal, as I figured I should try some reds as well as whites. The lady helping was nice, and spoke upon the wines and winery as I did my tasting. This is pretty standard however, and I can't say it was anything special. One of the whites was made with sea buckthorn, which has many health benefits and they will tell you about this while tasting. Now at all the wineries I've been to in Langley, when you purchase a bottle of wine, the tasting fee will be waived. When I asked the lady if the fee would be waived if I bought a bottle, she hesitated, and said it depended on the bottle. I bought a $24 bottle, for which she waived $5 of my tasting fee. When I went to pay, there was a tip option!!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?! It's that stupid tipping option which presets the percentages. I didn't want to look cheap and most of all didn't want to insult the lady helping me, so I selected the min, which was still 15%, bringing my tip to just over $4....... Never have I seen a tip option at a wine tasting and the fact that my tip was on my wine purchase AND wine tasting experience made me very annoyed. Be aware of this if you come here. My $24 wine and $5 tasting fee turned into a $33 purchase after tip. After my experience my friend sent me a post from their website about their candle lit tours for $30 which will be starting April 1, advertised to come with "FREE PIZZA". I believe if you're paying a fee beforehand in order to access some of that pizza, IT AIN'T FREE! There are better wineries than Blackwood Lane, and if you're reading this review, check out Chaberton Estate winery which is a few minutes away. You will be able to treat yourself AND a friend to sample 5 wines, purchase a good bottle of wine, and still spend only $20 or so, just as I did.
