First time trying an indian food here in Sac, chaat bistro didn't disappoint. I found a good chicken biryani here. They have a huge serving of their dish which is a plus. Place is good and doesn't smell bad. Love that the drinks is included in your bill. Good for the price, good service. The buttered chicken is okay for me. We will try other food specially their kebab and lamb. Will go back again for sure.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Delta Shores, Chaat Bistro brings the variety to an otherwise fast food overrun shopping plaza. The interior of the restaurant isn't the biggest but when we went, this didn't seem to be a problem as they weren't very busy during lunch on a Saturday. After making your way to their counter, you crank your neck back to view their expansive menu of chutneys, curry's, and masala's. We opted for the lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, Pani puri, and of course a side of garlic naan. All of the dishes we ordered were a slam dunk! Great portions and taste, no notes! Overall, definitely a must try if you're a Delta Shores regular and want to spice things up!

I decided to have dinner before meeting up with a friend for a late night movie. Most of the eateries were closed by 9pm. Luckily, Chaat Bistro was still open. I walked in and was greeted by a gentleman at the register. I look at the menu above the register and decided on getting the Tikka Masala with shrimp. Omg! My food arrives and it comes with a nice size serving of rice that is flavorful and delicious. The curry in the Tikka masala is so rich and flavorful not too spicy. The inside is pretty basic for dining there is plenty of searing as well as they have some outdoor seating as well. It's definitely worth checking them out the food is amazing.

I've been here a few times. And let me start with saying I love spicy food. However, spicy here will mess me up lol. So today I ordered my dishes as mild and other as medium and it was perfection. Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan 7/10 Saag Panner dinner platter with veggie, daal, rice and garlic naan 8/10 You order at the register and then seat yourself. Food arrived in about 10 minutes and was yummy! Friendly service as always! There was another table at the same time however there was no music on so it was awkward silence at times. They did end up turning music on a little bit before we left.

If you want an Indian QSR next to a movie theatre, you're in luck. The gentleman who took our order was very "participatory" in our ordering process....telling us what we may or may not like. My wife and I ended up ordering fairly standard selections for the American palate. We shared the tandoori chicken Tikka (no curry...just dry), garlic Naan, and butter chicken. The butter chicken was our favorite, and had a nice little kick to it. While good, the chicken Tikka was a tad salty. The prices were about what you'd expect at an Indian restaurant, as the portion size was a filling size (although a good portion of it was white rice). While tasty, and will definitely satisfy a craving for Indian, I do not believe I am ready to rush back here. If friends wanted to go, though, I'd be happy to return

I was on the hunt for BHEL PURI ever since I got back from London. It's a savory popular Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) street food made with crispy puffed rice tossed with peanuts, onions, tamarind chutney, and bunch of stuff. I found Chaat Bistro in Delta Shores have this dish on the menu and I was eager to try it. The worker had told me that everyone has a different variation of this dish and he was right. It wasn't the same. It was on the sweeter side and lacking the crunch. It was okay but not what I had in mind. I also ordered the GOBI PAKORA. It's fried cauliflower seasoned in chickpea batter. Yummy appetizer but on the spicy for me. The BUTTER CHICKEN served with rice or NAAN was my favorite. The mild tomato cream sauce infused with spices was my kind of spicy level. You can't go wrong ordering this dish. The LAMB BIRYANI is another staple. I'm not a big lamb person but my boys enjoyed it. You can also replace Lamb with Chicken, Shrimp, Vegetarian, etc. Overall a nice Indian spot. Service was quick. It's counter service. You order, pay and wait for your order.

Honestly, this is a solid option for Indian food in the Sac area. We have tried quite a few Indian restaurants trying to find our go-to and it has been quite a difficult task. Let's start with what went well: This restaurant has delicious naan--it's chewy, soft, warm, with a little crisp to it. The curries were hot and arrived as described. I think if I could have a redo I would order the paneer tikka masala as my husband's chicken tikka nasal looked good and the curry sauce had a pleasant, , creamy flavor. I, however, ordered the aloo matar, a dish I have had before and liked but this one was kind of bitter and not as creamy as I remembered it being elsewhere. Curries came with generous portions of basmati rice...I would say one serving is more than enough for two people. I would give this place another try and order differently to see if this changes my perspective because the elements that were good were very good and promising!

Food: Yummy! Did feel like small portion, but enough to fill you up and not have leftover!! Service/Ambiance: Order first at the front, get your drink yourself, and they bring out the food to your table. Workers are usually in the back, but if you ring the bell someone would come out asap for you!

I stopped by Chaat Bistro while in the area for a Yelp experience, and I'm so glad that I took the time to check them out! Inside is very clean and staff were patient as my partner and I scanned their lengthy menu. We decided to order the vegetable samosa appetizer, tikka masala, chicken curry, and sides of rice and naan. Chaat Bistro is on the pricier side, and our meal was about $50; however, the amount of food helps justify the price. Their samosas were so good that I forgot to take a picture before digging in. Our curries were beautifully presented, and my partner and I were able to take home leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. I ordered mine mild and still felt my sinuses cleared from the spices. Everything was flavorful, and I would definitely recommend Chaat Bistro if you're looking for a filling meal!

Drink: Mango Lassi Appetizer: Gobi Pakora Butter Chicken Vindaloo Chicken Dinner sides (rice, veggies, dal, naan

We've been here a few times now, and it's an absolute crime that they aren't bustling with customers. We've had various dishes, and everything is always made fresh and incredibly delicious! Our two favorite curies so far are the butter chicken and the vindaloo chicken, and we can't get enough of the batter-fried cauliflower (gobi pakora). Chaat also has some of the best naan we've had - slightly crispy and chewy without being too dense. Finally, it was recommended we try the mango lassi drink during our last visit. Neither me or my partner are big fans of mango, but we gave it a shot... it was so damn good! It's kinda like a sweet mango smoothie made with fruit and yogurt? All I know is it went really well with the meal, and helped a bit with the heat from the curry. I'm 2 for 2 in bringing people who "don't like indian food" and converting them, so give this place a shot if you're one of those people! The staff is super friendly and will help explain the menu if you need help figuring out your order.

Recently moving to Elk Grove, I was was surprised to see so many different restaurants and multiple food choices. That said, our group last night decided to try Indian food. Wow! And I mean a big smiled tummy rumbling WOW!!! Indian oven is the beast Indian food I have ever tasted! As you know, in my previous reviews, I have also taken into consideration, the ambiance, the restaurant cleanliness (Including the restrooms) and also the staffs demeanor when submitting reviews. I must admit, I am not surprised that this restaurant easily deserves five stars - on all points! If it wasn't for our server "Rinku", our group would never have realized the meticulous efforts made by ownership and staff in presenting so many varied and wonderful tasting dishes we were not previously aware of. In that, I mean, that when you go to a new restaurant, you look at the menu and you take somewhat of a chance in experiencing dishes that sound good, but having no previous experience/s there, may not receive the best tasting meal on the menu. Rinku not only explained the dishes and ingredients, he also gave a little bit of history and process involved into preparing such wonderful tasting meals - throughout. He took the time to answer our questions with as much detail, history, that was necessary for us to understand how much goes into making exceptional Indian cuisine. He highlighted the nuances involved in the preperation processes, the cooking methods, and the reasoning behind obtaining/ producing such differing textures, depths, and tones of flavors. And pointedly, I noticed that everything was very fresh, possibly and most likely made with heartfelt love for India Ovens' patrons. Once again if it wasn't for Rinkus' recommendations, we would not have known what to choose, pertaining to our personal likes, and to be honest, spiciness and heat tolerances of each individual in our group. From this point forward, I will not have any predetermined expectations of what food quality and/or flavors should/could taste like. Amongst our group, we ordered approximately eight different menu items, each with very specific and distinct flavors, and as mentioned before, wonderful textures. I (Rarely and highly) recommend family, friends, colleagues, and the general public to come here, not once, twice, but often, to experience the full menu - all in its time. I recommend that you come and experience wonderful savory Indian cuisine like no other. Thank you Rinku!

Remember that Ratatouille scene with the critic's flash back? This samosa did that for me. It transported me to my good friend's home where her aunties were in the kitchen making these pockets of culture and traditions. Highly recommend! I ordered the chicken biriani. It was flavorful. The rice was fluffy. The spice level was on target (I ordered mine medium heat). My daughter ordered the chicken curry. She loved it. She kept saying "This is yummy" the whole time. My husband ordered the lamb curry spice level spicy. It cleared his sinus headache :) apart from it being spicy it was also very tasty. We also ordered garlic naan: garlicky and fluffy. Near the entrance sat a beautifully arranged bar selection, while the spacious seating areas easily accommodated larger gatherings of ten to twelve guests without feeling crowded. The service throughout the evening was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely warm. Our server, Khushi, delivered exceptional customer service with kindness and confidence, guiding us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations and patience that elevated the entire dining experience. The butter chicken was undoubtedly the star of the meal -- rich, savory, and deeply aromatic. Every bite carried layers of warm spices that blended beautifully into the velvety, creamy sauce. The dish had a comforting depth of flavor without overwhelming the palate. Paired alongside it was the garlic naan, served warm with the perfect touch of crispness around the edges. Its buttery garlic aroma complemented the butter chicken flawlessly, making each bite even more indulgent. The samosas were another standout appetizer. Golden and crisp on the outside with a satisfying crunch, they opened to reveal a soft, fluffy potato filling seasoned beautifully with traditional spices. When paired with the accompanying sauces, the flavors became even more vibrant and addictive. To finish, the jalebi provided the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Delicately crisp yet syrupy and rich, it offered a delightful contrast after such a flavorful and spice-forward dining experience. Its sweetness lingered pleasantly, leaving the evening on a memorable note. Overall, this restaurant delivers not only flavorful dishes but also an atmosphere and level of hospitality that make the experience feel complete from beginning to end.

I especially wanted to see if their lamb shank was still the "star" from my last visit and to try their meat kabobs. So what did we order. 1) Lamb shank (2 orders): again, i believe this entree is one of the best items here. The shank is braised so well that the meat comes right off the bone without any efforts. The flavor is exceptional. it arrives on a bed of rice, hummus, greek salad, and pita bread. This is an item i would order without hesitation. 2) Chicken kabob skewers plate: 6 pieces of boneless white meat that is grilled once the order is placed. The chicken had a nice char and looked great. But the flavor was very mild and grilled a little too long which made the meat a tad dry...perhaps the chicken needed to be marinated longer for the spices to penetrate but the dryness was in preparation over the grill. 3) chicken and beef kabobs skewers plate: again the chicken was grilled a tad too long which made the pieces dry. the beef was moist and had a nice flavor. It also comes with rice and a salad. 4) mixed plate: sliced meat from a rotisserie spit on top of a bed of rice and topped with tzatziki sauce and hot sauce, hummus and greek salad. the sliced meat was a bit dry but more tzatziki sauce on the meat helped. The side salads were very basic. The pita bread is not as soft and fresh as the ones from Jayna Gyro on Alhambra blvd. But I would give 4 stars for the lamb shank and 2-3 stars for the grilled and chicken and beef kabob and rotisserie chicken sliced from the spit.
