I've been to this location in the past and they have offered competent and compassionate care…read more Today, however, I was in need of care for an eye infection on a Sunday during a holiday weekend. I arrived at 9:00 am, happy to see the clear signage on the doors that it's open 7 Days a week 8am - 8pm, as I yanked on the door handle. It didn't budge. So I called the clinic's number where a chipper message announced that they open at 9:00 am on the weekends. I thought maybe they were a bit late in opening so I decided to try and reserve my place on-line. That didn't work either, that service was not available at this location. Finally, I looked at the website carefully and saw that this location was closed on Sundays and Mondays until the end of the month. Ug! Yes, I should have read the website more carefully. But when you're sick and grumpy it's hard to read confusing websites. The phone message could have warned me, the website could have been clearer. Why couldn't someone put a couple of signs on the windows?

How the heck are people supposed to get tested and help reduce the spread of Covid when this place…read morecan't get their sh$t together? I called and spoke with someone who told me that I couldn't make an appointment but could come as a walk in... I asked if there was a long wait and she replied that "there are only 2-3 people in front of you." So I came in as a walk-in just as the two young kids did in front of me... They walked up to the counter, filled out the registration paperwork and were called in while I was still waiting to be called. I expected it to be fast as there was no one waiting outside and those two young guys were the only 2 ahead of me at that point. When I got to the counter, instead of filling out the paperwork as the kids before me had just done, I was told to scan the code and go back to my car to complete the registration. I did so, and then waited... and waited... and waited... well over an hour at this point. When I called and spoke with someone inside they told me that they had stopped taking walk ins for Covid tests and weren't sure when they would begin doing the tests again... I was told to just keep waiting but that there is a possibility that I would get carrried over to tomorrow... Wait, what?? I had been waiting for over an hour already, and they think it's normal or ok to tell someone that they need to wait 4 hours to be told to come back tomorrow? This is efficient testing? This is BS, is what it is... When I called and spoke to someone in the call center and tried to get some idea of the wait time, I was told that there were now 25 people ahead of me.... Ummm..... what?? I explained that I was just inside to see if there were others waiting and was told that there wouldn't be anyone in the lobby waiting... That's funny as the two young guys were inside waiting, the walk-in lady in her gray scrubs was waiting, along with an elderly couple who had just walked in. But I guess my eyes might be lying to me due to Covid, but as I wasn't able to get tested after waiting and waiting, I'll never get to know... Being a caregiver to someone with ALS, this test is extremely important for me to take yet they make it impossible to live your life, work, see your family and try and get a Covid test to keep those around you safe. If this is how Boston is going to manage testing I can understand why there is such a huge spike in cases here... people just can't be bothered to go through what I did and not get a test... What a waste of time. Update - it's now been over 2 hours and I have yet to receive a call regarding an update or if I'll be able to get my test. I came home about 45 min ago and have been waiting for the call so I could head back... But now since it's dinner time and I didn't get to see my family because I work during the day, I can't see how this joke of an establishment is going to get me in for the test I registered for today. If anything, I would calm this place nothing but a Super Spreader business since they have you come in, scan the symbol so you can register and then make you wait for literally hours... How many people like me had to finally leave? How many of those people are walking around with Covid and don't know it? How many of those people have left their Covid germs there for others to just come and get without getting tested? The BBB and the Cambridge Health Department should seriously look into this mistake of a health center.

Good to know you can come here on Sunday morning at 9 AM and get seen by a doctor within minutes…read more I recommend this place if you have to see someone quickly. There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot, there is a receptionist on the first floor to give directions where to go or help with any other needs. Beth Israel's's Urgent Care is located on the second floor, there is an elevator a wheelchair if needed. The office suite is clearly marked urgent care, very important. If you are stressed or in a situation you don't want to have to second guess where to go. My doctor examined me thoroughly and had a medical assistant. My exam was quick. This is urgent care and being quick is a good thing. . I did not have to go to an emergency room for which could take hours maybe even days to be seen, especially at a non Beth Israel emergency room. Even then, taking up the space and time in an emergency room makes it difficult for those people that are really in crisis with a high need medical issue. If I needed an emergency room, BI Urgent Care would have sent me or made sure I got there safely. So this was the perfect option for me rather than waiting for an appointment after a minor car accident. Or emergency room. I'm very pleased with Beth Israel, as medical provider in all areas of care including surgeries. Hands down, the best option. Discharge/service note was giving to me at record speed and my medication was called in in the same manner. I've been coming for my primary care to this location for several years. Professional staff at the front desk make my visits run smooth. the doctor examined me, I felt confident in his ability to assess me. Today was pleasant and efficient I was in and out of there quickly. And that's what I want when you have been in an accident or some other life incident.

Ample parking. A lab and XRay facility right there. A pharmacy right next door. Very comforting to have this facility nearby.

Made us feel like a doctor with a soul who cares for their patients. Except the front desk staff were impatient! Then, I went to the main hospital on Mt. Auburn....front office, excellent. Administration staff, who record(ed) first-time visit to the hospital, wonderful too! Personable! Oh! The woman who did my blood work --Horrendous! She persistently dismissed my being combatively (and I hate to say this about a Black given the racial connotations loaded onto us), but she showed complete disregard for me and cut me off when I tried to speak. She was thoroughly dismissive of what I said, even when she pretended she wanted to apologize (to protect her job). I tried to explain to her that I wanted to prepare her for my squeamish behavior when getting shots so she didn't feel daunted by a grown woman screaming over shots . I also tried explaining that I always try to create a safe space with new social interactions. I also get excited when I meet another black woman like me in practices where they are very rare --particularly true where I live! Plus, considering that black women's health is statistically underprioritized and mostly neglected, having a black medic attend to me boosts my hopes of "being seen, heard, and attended to with courtesy"; how wrong! This woman/lab tech was awful! She focused on reminding me she's been doing this work for umpteen years, and nobody has ever complained about her, "I'm very nice." I tried to explain to her, as a teacher, kids are not all the same, and I do not treat kids the same." Oh! She decided to explain my profession to me, like she knows it better, "That's a classroom. It's different...kids are not going anywhere..." Anyway, nothing was left for me but to tell her, "Have a great day!"

There were no nursing rounds or check ins, and there are no care or discharge notes in the myChart. Discharge did not include a review of care and treatment plan. My partner had an experience so awful that I cannot wait until I can switch my Health Insurance…read morecoverage. My partner is experiencing pain from a tooth that needs a root canal. He had received a filling earlier today and unfortunately, the dental student did not secure a prescription for pain medication due to thinking a filling would solve the issue. Since he was seen by a dental student and due to the day/time they were unable to have an overseeing dentist prescribe him pain medication. He decided to call HUHS to see whether his PCP or his staff could help him with medication until a root canal on Monday. After speaking with someone on the phone, the person said they did not know what to do for him, but they said he could come down if he was close by and wanted to discuss it with a Nurse Practitioner. He went in person and ultimately nothing could be done because his PCP was not in. It would have been much preferred to hear that over the phone as opposed to walking (In pain) to the Smith Campus Center. That itself could have been a misunderstanding but how he was treated when arrived there is the real problem. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive from the moment he started speaking to them. The man at the front desk denied he had coverage (rudely, cutting my partner off...) and questioned everything my partner said. My partner presented his card and then said his PCP's name and that he had been there before, the man responded "Well that's impossible." Someone else then looked him up and found him, but as he was walking to see the NP they shouted out "No wait you don't have coverage!" To then check again and confirm he did. What is going on at HUHS that they can't even check someone in who has been there, and if the system was having issues then that is not their fault, but how they treated my partner is again the issue. The NP then told him that they did not have the authority to prescribe him anything. This, again, could have been said clearly and directly over the phone to not waste his or anyone's time but again would not be a huge issue if not for the interactions at the front desk. My partner was in pain and thought he would receive at least basic level of human decency in his interactions with HUHS staff. He was treated like he was a criminal walking off the street demanding drugs. He has seen his PCP there. This is HIS healthcare provider. They were asking him whether he was a "summer school student"...do they really not know how to use their own system, and that itself is understandable because systems change/new staff/systems act wonky... but being rude and dismissive is not. I have heard others' stories of bad experiences at HUHS (including my partner having previously been given wrong information in getting blood work done) and now it is just too much. If you are a staff member, then choose another insurance option. I had been a graduate student at Harvard before becoming an admin and thought it easier to stay. But I deeply regret that decision after what my partner experienced.

This review is for all of the nonsense that I have personally had to deal with as a student here…read more I am honestly fed up with the general attitude here. Giving it 2 stars because of neutral to good experiences I've had with some members of staff. Freshman year: I go to my primary care doctor. I tell him I have these horrible headaches. He literally tells me to just get sleep. Um. Ok. Sophomore year: I have this massive 2nd degree burn. I go to urgent care, literally no patients waiting there. I have to wait an excruciatingly long time before I get treated. When the doctor is ready to see me, she says, "Oh we have patients staying overnight who have more urgent concerns than yours." No apology. To top it off, the primary treatment I am given is this topical cream that, after a quick google, I find out, "prolongs healing time" and shows no "real indications of efficacy." I get by on codeine. Junior year: I go to an urgent care having filled out a survey. My thyroid might actually be infected. A doctor sees me, and she tells me, "Oh, we don't treat thyroid issues in urgent care. It's not urgent. You have to go see primary care." I guess I would have really appreciated it if they had just emailed me to not show up rather than making me show up and wasting my time. The next day, I phone in to try to schedule a primary care appointment. She asked me why I didn't call yesterday, and I told her that I had a lot of work I was trying to take care of. She literally scoffed at me. She also was both extremely unhelpful and condescending when I asked her about the steps I would need to take to treat thyroid issues and . . . I'm fairly certain that she doesn't understand the difference between getting the ok for a thyroid screen and actually getting a screen. She honestly didn't seem to know what she was doing in general. It goes without saying that it is extremely frustrating to talk to someone who is both illogical and also arrogant about it. Never in my life have I dealt with such terrible service from health staff. Point being, HUHS, step up your game. We as students go to you to be treated, not aggravated.

Mass General Brigham Urgent Care - Brookline…read more I am leaving this review to document a deeply upsetting and unprofessional experience at Mass General Brigham Urgent Care in Brookline on February 7, 2026. I arrived with a near-complete loss of voice and checked in promptly. I waited approximately two hours, during which time multiple patients who arrived well after me were called ahead. When I politely asked the front desk staff about the delay, I was told that "other patients' conditions were more important than mine," without any explanation or transparency. Online appointment scheduling was not available that day, and this is an Urgent Care facility--not an Emergency Room--so this handling was confusing and frustrating. Eventually, a nurse brought me back, took my vitals, and listened attentively despite my difficulty speaking. This part of the visit was professional and appropriate. Unfortunately, the encounter with Megan Phillips, CNP, was the complete opposite. She entered the room and immediately accused me of refusing COVID and flu testing, which was untrue. I was trying--despite being almost unable to speak--to explain that I had no symptoms consistent with either illness and to ask whether, if tests were negative, treatment options or referral for vocal cord inflammation could be discussed. No physical exam was performed. Instead, Ms. Phillips responded in a dismissive and aggressive manner, stating that steroids are only given in "special" cases such as singers or media personalities, implying that I did not qualify. I am a preschool teacher, and my voice is my primary professional tool and my only source of income. There was no effort to accommodate my inability to speak or to truly listen. My husband, who was present, expressed concern about the two-hour wait and lack of evaluation. At that point, Ms. Phillips abruptly said, "If you are refusing tests, I am done here," turned around, and slammed the door shut, effectively ending the visit. Being treated this way while physically unable to speak was humiliating and distressing. When I returned to the front desk to ask for a supervisor or guidance on filing a complaint, I was told no supervisor was available. I was handed an After Visit Summary that contained no documentation of my symptoms, history, assessment, or care, only a list of future appointments--despite the fact that no meaningful care had occurred. After waiting two hours and receiving no treatment, I asked if I could be seen by another provider. I was later told that no provider in the department was willing to see me, that I was no longer welcome, and that I should seek care elsewhere. I was dismissed from the facility without care. This experience was shocking and profoundly disappointing, especially within the Mass General Brigham / Brigham and Women's system, which presents itself as a leader in patient-centered care. I sought help in good faith and was met with hostility, dismissal, and exclusion at a moment of vulnerability. I hope this review prompts serious reflection and corrective action. No patient--especially one who is physically unable to advocate for themselves--should ever be treated this way.
