This is common in the state of Florida which is where she died. She had dementia when her husband died. The original will and trust was signed by my uncle and aunt to have me take care of my handicapped mentally impaired cousin. I paid over $20,000+ for nothing, to try to get money from their lawyer. The Hatchett 's told me to get a Florida attorney, who also did nothing, and cost me $3000+. I'm rambling. I am a freelance writer. Matters of the heart and being robbed by attorneys in Texas and Florida has had me very upset. I signed on with Hatchett Law Firm in 2016 when a lot of promises were made and not kept except the guardianship. This last year they did not bother to file my guardianship papers, nor did they officially send any kind of paper that said they were severing the relationship. I was completely ghosted from March 2025. No returned phone calls. Nothing! DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN. I am retired now and having to support my cousin's needs without the income I once had.

My sister hired Attorney Hatchett to represent our family during a very difficult time. Communication became an issue early on--when we asked questions about the status of the case, we were met with threats that she would stop working with us. After more than 18 months, only limited progress had been made. Following mediation, Attorney Hatchett scheduled our case for a trial, which was unnecessary. The court later canceled the trial because a trial was not required; the case should have been set for a prove-up instead. When we asked for clarification about why this occurred, Attorney Hatchett stated she would no longer work with us. Although she said she was withdrawing from the case, she never formally withdrew and stopped working altogether--after having been paid a substantial amount in legal fees. We ultimately hired a new attorney who immediately stepped in, charged a far more reasonable fee, and was surprised by how our case had been handled. The contrast in professionalism and integrity was significant. While Attorney Hatchett does have a capable support staff, based on our experience, we do not recommend this firm.

Very rude and will holler at me for not taking a low-ball offer and allowing the high profile wrongdoers to escape to retaliate. Makes me wonder who got paid....It wasn't me I'm still fighting because he refused to stop mortgage thieves from flipping my house while still under contract with him and smiled as he closed the contract stating he needed a $10,000 retainer when atty. W. Smith threw me under the bus and never communicated with me bout the case while he ex parted. I peeped his game, I rendered $1,400 and nothing more... If you don't resemble him be very aware of the hook, line and sinker. He has cost me time off my life and wasted money by not simply writing a les pendens notice to be filed; instead he sent a settlement notice which I denied as they were placed on notice he closed my contract as something he could not override or as a client tell me about. I did the discovery work myself and WOW the rats had a nest; these people are real estate investors as most real estate attorneys are. Know who's for you and who's for themselves for hire to your property they allegedly helping you to save... Haha.... Protect your innocence and do the discovery yourself and hire a Legal Parlance/ Plaintiffs Lawyer for court. I will prevail...
