As a person with a background in preschool ed and also a parent of two, who has used several different childcare providers, I can genuinely say that Melody's Munchkins is one of the best childcare facilities I have ever interacted with. MJ and her staff are so wonderfully skilled with children, and as a result the kids have a very close bond with teachers and with one-another. The environment is planned with intention and care to enhance children's learning and social/emotional development. Throughout the day, kids are provided with many opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun. I love being able to check in to the parent portal to read about what the kids have been up to each day and see pictures of my son playing and learning! In regards to COVID, Melody's Munchkins was quick to put a safety plan in place and have continued follow it very carefully. They have done a fantastic job of making drop-offs and pick-ups feel safe and easy. They have been communicative and thoughtful through the entire process. If you are feeling nervous about sending your child to daycare during the pandemic, Melody's Munchkins should definitely be on the top of your list of safe spaces where your child can continue to learn and grow and feel a sense of stability during these very uncertain times!

Melody has been the ONLY care provider we have used for our 5 year old and our 2 year old. I know what the area has to offer as far as child care goes, we went through about 8 of them when our 9 year old daughter was little. Trust me..Melody's munchkins outshines them all!! I have full confidence in Melody and all of the other care providers there. In regards to the other mom suggesting that people just "drop in" to check on their children, I think that's taking it a bit far. I drop in at all times of the day to pick up my girls, to drop off diapers, etc.. and I have never observed anything out of the ordinary. Unless you consider happy children, who are being cared for by an attentive care giver out of the ordinary.. Melody is always striving to keep things fresh. Weekly she is updating the activities, the crafts, the play rooms, and she always has the kids safety in mind. Did I mention how great the teaching is here? With regular in home child care you just basically get a babysitter that plays with your child. Not here! Here you get so much more. Our 5 year old daughter was signing dozens of words with sign language by age 2. Now, at 5 she can sign the entire alphabet! She has also been learning Spanish, she knows more than I do! And now, at just 5 years old, she is doing math and writing above her age level. Our 2 year old knows her alphabet, can sign multiple words, and can spell multiple words including her name! I love that the teachers here are always doing some sort of hands on learning with the children. My children are excelling because these teachers make learning FUN! I could go on and on, I have endless positive things to say about Melody and her childcare center. If you want in home child care, home cooked meals for your children, a great curriculum, interactive activities, and endless loving care for your child, then I would highly recommend Melody's Munchkins!

They have everything set up for you and they have aprons available but I definitely encourage you to bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The instructor was great - she goes over a step by step demo and then with the whole class the instructor goes over the steps again and you end up with a piece of your choice. I ended up having time to make 3 pieces in total. Highly recommend - very fun and a nice challenge!

The only thing I would change is adding water to the table but we were able to get that at the concession stand. Although someone was kind enough to just bring it to a table. They were planning on getting on a bus to go to the Casino the next day. They have a popcorn machine - and you buy it on your honor. .50 or so. I didn't see food other than small bags of chips, but I'm sure they host dinners on certain nights. One tap beer - Coors Light, but they are adding an IPA. The usual suspects for cans and bottle beers available. Most American Legion Posts are private and you must be a member or have someone "sign you in" - below their sign outside it said Public Welcome.

Whenever I come to this playground it brings me back to my innocent youth; tetherball in first recess, red rover and kickball in afternoon intermission (what it was called before recess). A lot of the learning is done outside the classroom and on the playground. This playground is, as Donald Tremp says, "huge". Lots of area to learn. I don't anymore, but I miss the days where I used to be a recess safety officer (duty). I was able to tell all the children to be safe and make them listen to my stories of my youth. We have been dealing with bullying issues over the last year, and so far multiple times this year…read more The principals at Lincoln elementary have refused to return phone calls regarding the matters, set "meetings" with us that they were unable to attend, and over looked the issue many times. Now it was brought to my attention that a "Mr. Jason" who is employed at Lincoln has in some form been encouraging and/or ignoring the issues. I would not send your children to this school until they get better staffing (if you have the option). After having this issue I also spoke with 2 other parents that have recently pulled their children out of Lincoln for similar problems! Never is it acceptable as an adult; especially working at a school (who should be setting a proper example) to tell a 6 year old that they deserved to be punched in the face by another student. They refuse to do anything about the bullying, and employee bullies at that. Not to mention they are obviously not adequately watching our children.
