At that point I completely lost my appetite and started leaving - which was the only time she recognized me and said bye loudly in a really condescending tone. I wouldn't even be writing this long paragraph about how terrible my experience was if she had just kept on ignoring me and my friend as she had done in th beginning instead of making that irritating snarky remark. Not sure if she was just grumpy that day or if she's just plain rude. Not sure if super unprofessional or racist. If you don't want to be serving clueless tourists (although I feel pretty justified in simply trying to catch the waiter's attention after waiting ages in a cafe that didn't even have new tables to serve besides mine), perhaps don't work in a town that relies on tourism? I ordered a salami baguette and a box of 4 pastries for a friend. They packaged it neatly into a white box and tied it together with a cute string. The salami sandwich was delicious. There was a perfect combination of cheese and salami. The wifi was free and very fast. Overall, a very comfortable location, delicious food, and great pastries. Fresh bread, rolls and pastries always available. Frau Stemplinger was always working, making her home and gardens so comfortable for her guests. I would recommend this as a great base for travel around Bavaria, Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
