I loved this place when they first opened in their tiny little shop. I have always loved the food and the vibe, but now you can never even go into the restaurant for a good meal without an excessively long wait. I started doing mostly carry out orders about a year ago, because inside seating was so busy, but now they don't even pick up the phone for carry out orders. I definitely miss the little old shop. I haven't had Mexican food this good in a very long time. It was delicious. The service was okay. We went at a slower time so I never had my water refilled. We have never been so when they put my plate down I just started eating. They realized they gave me the wrong food but never said anything to me. I just overheard the server saying it to the table behind me. I didn't mind because it was also enchiladas but not the same one I ordered. It was so delicious I didn't care. It would have been nice to have been approached to double check that the mix up was okay. I would still go back regardless of service because the food was that good. It might be that the fort Leonard wood area Mexican food is that bad, I don't know, but it was yummy. Definitely added to the list for Springfield trips. read more

We are pretty excited to go here, because we heard a lot about it. It has a nice ambience plenty of classic drinks and dishes, I feel like the food was just standard and the sauces were a little underwhelming, I had the enchiladas they were ok but again the sauce and toppings and sides were very bland. Everything for sure came in a can, and there was no unique flavoring or authentic flavor or taste to the meals. I know a lot of people say this but we for sure could've made this at home, they were six in our party we all got normal entrées and two adult drinks and a ticket came to around $124 before the tip, I wish it was a little bit better than it was, the wait staff was amazing, overall we had a fine experience but there for sure could've been more Effort put into the food. read more

Small but very good restaurant. I only waited a few minutes on a busy Weds. and wanted to just have nachos with some lettuce so that I wasn't eating all cheese and meat. The grilled chicken nachos were very good. The "regular" margarita is plenty and yet there is a "double"! There are only 6-9 tables (depending on how they're broken up) and about 12 or so bar seats, but the food is quickly cooked and served. I was impressed at how meticulous the cook was at keeping the grill clean. He was constantly cooking and cleaning the grill. This is not 5 stars only because the chips did seem to have a slight stale test. I guess they need to find a low-humidity place to keep the chips. Also, they really should expand. My boyfriend and I came here for an early dinner and I was so pleasantly surprised! I got 3 birria tacos and a daiquiri, he got a shrimp quesadilla and we split sides of guacamole and queso. Without a doubt, this is my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant in Springfield and I have a feeling everyone agreed. I wasn't so keen on their chips, but their salsa divine and their guacamole was heaven! I should have trusted my instincts and laid off the chips quickly, because my meals' portions were huge and I have a 'to-go' container that will last me at least one other meal! We all sampled each other's dishes and each time, we all agreed that this dish or that dish was the best version we had ever tasted.
