Went to Cervizzi for contempt against my x for child support. After my initial meeting there, found everyone very pleasant to speak with and felt they were very professional and capable to move forward with. I had everything very organized to minimize additional work and to keep costs lower. They are expensive and every email or question was costly so tried to only correspond if absolutely necessary. A couple of days before court, I was notified by the law office that the attorney had a conflict so they were sending an associate who would be briefed on my case. Was a definite surprise, but felt it was straight forward enough it should be ok. Got to court and probation asked for electronic version from attorney of our agreement/request so we could edit while trying to settle. She said she forgot to charge her laptop so asked probation to type out manually for us... Didn't feel having her there added much value at all - wish I had declined to save all of that cost in hindsight. Main part of agreement was wages garnished which I was told by attorney this could be done given type of income my x has. Post court, still not receiving child support - was told by DOR the language they used for the court doc was confusing so took months to get added to my case. Then was told that legally they couldn't garnish type of wages my x has. This was my initial concern going in to the law office... had they advised me correctly, I would have requested different outcome and certainly wouldn't have spent as much as I did on legal fees. I emailed to let them know this outcome and no response - guess they don't really care now that I'm not an active client. Disappointing. read more

Jessica Walsh is excellent. However, Laura calls the shots. She is arrogant and the firm is unbelievably expensive with few results. They will respond to this with all kinds of lawyer-better-than-you rational. 2 years, 50K plus, zero results. End of story. Everything is marital until it isn't, true there and everywhere. May as well just take 50% and settle through mediators. If you are a man, particularly STAY AWAY. Very expensive. No results. read more

If money is no object, maybe they're good, however, if you work on tight budget, STAY AWAY! I paid over $10,000 for my lawyer and didn't get anything in return. Towards the end of my divorce, I advised my lawyer that money was running very low. I was told that it would be an additional $1500 to complete the divorce and she wouldn't even be there for my actual hearing. I paid that amount, and was shocked to receive a bill for $850 more! Unacceptable. I contacted the owner who went on and on about how great her attorneys are, and how shocked she was that I wasn't happy. Mind you, this lawyer only went to court for me twice, how is that over $10,000?! And to owe an additional $850 is absolutely insane. They are not helpful and only care about their bottom line. If you think divorce is bad then this firm will make it a nightmare both emotionally and financially. I liken them to used car salesmen with their bait and switch tactics and ridiculously high fees. I had an initial "free" consultation with Laura Cervizzi Esq. Just remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch! At the end of our initial consultation Cervizzi claims that she's going on vacation to ITALY for 2 weeks but there would be "someone" in the office to cover for her if I decided to hire HER and anything pertaining to the divorce came up. I did hire her because she "sold" me on her so-called experience with builders spouses. Nothing came up except I got a request from Cervizzi's associate, Charlene Caldeira Esq for an appt with HER because Laura wanted a written history of my 22 year marriage! What a JOKE! I went to this so called meeting where I had to repeat EXACTLY what I told Laura on our first FREE consultation. BUT WAIT, THIS time I paid $450.00/hr to repeat EXACTLY what I told Cervizzi at our FIRST meeting. For some reason ($$$, wink, wink) Cervizzi didn't communicate with her "team". You see, they work as a team - kind of like a tag team depending on who needs billable hours. CHA- CHING! I had not caught on to their "bait and switch" tactic yet so I wrote an email to the office explaining that I hired Laura - not Charlene. So at the next meeting both Laura AND Charlene ($$$) were in attendance because after THREE MONTHS Laura knew absolutely NOTHING about case. No wonder Cervizzi, with all her expertise (sarcasm), did not represent me at any court appearances. Now for THEIR FEES AND YOUR MONEY!!! I paid Cervizzi $7500 on Sept 17. Ten days later on September 27, Cervizzi requested another $20,000. It was paid. But then, just 13 business days later, on October 17, I received an intimidatory e-mail from their billing dept, Samantha Nestor, stating I only had a "credit balance of $1,477.52 and " ...Attorney Cervizzi is requesting an ANOTHER $20,000.00 to continue with representation". In just 13 BUSINESS DAYS this firm ripped through almost $ 20,000. Need I say more... except STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM if you value your sanity and your bank account. read more

Typically I write a yelp review for a restaurant or store that provides excellent service. Today I wanted to say thank you and highly recommend Servizzi & Associates, specifically Elise Pompei. I was referred to Elise by a friend, and having spoken to other attorneys (some charge up to $400 per hour for a consultation), I wasn't expecting much from a free consultation...this sounds awful but my review gets better. First, I was extremely impressed with a phone call I received from her office for an initial intake. A few high level questions that would hopefully steer the conversation. I was then scheduled to speak with Elise. Elise did her homework before we even got on the phone. I'm a fan of the saying that "god gives you one mouth and two ears for a reason". I appreciate people that ask a lot of questions. In my line of work, questions get to the heart of all of the details. Elise wanted to know as much as she could so she could assess what was going on. She processed every word, took notes, and showed a sincere interest in trying to help me. Then came her advice and recommendation. I wasn't expecting much based on my experience with other attorneys - Elise is awesome. She gets it. Instead of a quick tidbit to pave the way for an expensive retainer conversation, Elise genuinely tried to give me as much information and value that she could provide during the hour we spoke. Her recommendation was priceless. My experience with Elise and Servizzi was incredible. Surprisingly incredible. I was very up front in telling Elise that I wasn't sure what my game plan was. However if and when I want to engage an attorney, I know the first call I make will be Elise. read more

If I could give a negative 25 star I would. When I met with Laura Cervizzi she informed me most divorces don't cost more than 7,000.00. My divorce was messy, but I wound up paying almost 35,000.00, and for nothing. They also charged me, when the state of Massachusetts had a filing error. Do not use this law firm. Divorce is hard enough, it's taken me eight years to financially recover. read more

This firm and their, "women taking care of women", TV persona is all about drawing vulnerable women in at the worst time in their life. They present themselves as companionate advocates, all "made-up pretty" for the camera, but in reality all they really care about is how much they can bill you. They lured my wife in, advised her against mediation, told her she they could help her "self mediate" took a $ 17,000 retainer an started a rock fight. After just 60 days they burned through more than $ 20,000 in fees and had not even completed initial disclosures. Don't take my word for it, check the reviews, ask around in the North Shore family law community, Laura Cervizzi and her minions, is widely regarded as greedy, unnecessarily antagonistic and ineffectual - a BAD advocate. If you want your divorce to be 10 times more expensive and 10 times difficult she's the one for you! In the interest of full disclosure, I was not a client I was the opposing party and as much as I was determined to obtain an equitable outcome in my divorce, I took no pleasure I watching Laura Cervizzi completely screw my wife. read more

Can I give a zero star? Highly disappointing. Senior attorney doesn't know the basics when it comes to probate and district court. It cost me way more than what it should have for consistent errors. Compromised a district court case. I need to go through the additional expense and hire another capable attorney to undo this damage. read more

Absolutely stay away. I agree w/ the others; they take your money and do NOTHING. Reported them w/ BBB, Attorney General's office, etc. etc. Very vague, hard to get a hold of, don't advise you of your rights. Don't do it. Stayed with them waaaay too long. I'm sorry I did.
