Once dry, this left a visible jagged border along the ceiling lines, corners, under the railing, and into the family room at the bottom of the stairs. Apparently, the original gallon and the new gallon weren't mixed together for this project, so the tints were slightly off. So, the original work wasn't satisfactory, and their recommended fix created an even bigger problem - all the while assuring me that everything would dry evenly and that I would be satisfied. And all that, by the way, after I pre-paid for the work to be done. Their solution to the whole debacle was to make excuses and charge more money. After dealing with the frustration, and a lack of communication and timeliness, I did not agree to the extra expense. In all fairness, he did offer a bit of a discount to make everything right. Shawn is a nice guy and a member of our community, which makes this experience - and this review - all the more disappointing. On the bright side, the hallway and the ceiling look great. We're grateful for that.

Ended up the joists just need to be braced, not replaced. Requested linoleum multiple times, but, finally allowed Shawn to use leftovers from another job instead. He said he hated installing linoleum. We went back & forth about it & I decided the outcome might be better if I just let him use the floating tiles, but, the tiles are not sticking right down the middle of the floor, so, I now regret this decision. During the floor repair I asked Shawn if he might be able to install the bathtub & surround we'd already purchased. He said he would install it for an additional $940 labor & we agreed. He shored up the the pipes to the showerhead and installed the pipes for the new faucet. I gave him an additional $100 to purchase a new tub faucet. Shawn then informed us the costs were going to be higher as he had to go to Home Depot. He met with resistance and his attitude changed. I felt that since the joists did not have to be replaced & I'd relented on the flooring used that additional charges were unacceptable. I left for an hour or two & when I returned Shawn was packing up & leaving the job undone. He said hooking up the plumbing to the tub was above his level of expertise, but, admitted it was more about how long it was taking (4 days) and his time was worth more. I told him usually a "contractor" would call in a plumber & would not leave us with an unfinished bathroom. We would have paid additional for the plumber, but, were not given that option. The toilet was not even reinstalled yet. There was a hole in the sheetrock where he'd fallen against it with his back. He agreed to leave his helper, who btw did a beautiful job on the baseboard, to install the toilet & repair the wall where the surround was to go. It was a huge back-sized hole and the repair, though diligently done, is concaved enough that the glue-up surround will not look right once installed unless it is replaced. During the job tools and debris were left in the bathroom, in the hallway, in the kitchen, by the front door and outside in the yard. The bottom line is we would not recommend Heavenly Home Improvements to anyone, in fact, would advise against it.

In the end we were please with Robert handling all the little issues along the way professionally and respectfully. Granted not everything was done quickly, however with the whole neighborhood being destroyed and covid putting stress on getting supplies we were grateful to have a contractor who would communicate in a reasonable time frame. Give Robert a few days to respond and he will get back to you. If your neighbor get mad he will do what he can to resolve the issue. Pleased with everything over all. I would recommend him, and use him in the future.

Our experience with J Callahan Construction has been extremely disappointing. We hired the company…read moreexpecting quality workmanship and adherence to approved plans, but the project resulted in significant construction, drainage, safety, and property-damage issues. Several items were not built to the approved dimensions. The sidewalk is approximately six inches short, and the retaining wall is approximately five inches short. The wall was installed without the required #3 rebar and directly into our fence, leaving screws protruding through it. The sidewalk was also improperly sloped toward our home, creating drainage and potential flooding concerns. We have experienced multiple drainage issues since the work was completed. The backyard concrete has additional safety and structural concerns. Screws were left embedded and cut off at the surface, creating a hazard for our young children and dog. Sections of the concrete pad were improperly supported with dirt, and a structural engineer advised that the installation is likely to crack. We are also now seeing concrete chipping off. The basketball hoop pad was not poured thick enough for its intended use despite the contractor being informed of its purpose. The project also caused property damage, including concrete splatter on walls and windows, chips in our siding, and concrete on our newly installed fence. Because the retaining wall was installed into the fence, repairs may require fence replacement. Jacob Callahan personally visited our property, acknowledged the issues, and said he wanted to resolve them. We requested removal of the defective concrete and a refund. He promised to call the following Monday with a "game plan," but never did. We have since made multiple attempts to contact Jacob and J Callahan Construction by email, text, cell phone, and office phone. We have received no response, no promised plan, and no resolution.

All of this was for an agreed upon price that was half the estimate I got from some slick phone salesman a couple of years ago. Most contractors will tell you they'll be there between 10 and 2, then show up at 4 and don't get finished before leaving. Not these guys! I appreciate the good service and the way they treated me.
