What a cool gastropub... The owners of the restaurant have done a great job in preserving the history of the building. They have large pictures on the wall of days come by and you can see the interior looks much like it used to! Service was good and the portions were HUGE. Prices are very reasonable too. Three of us got the fried pork tenderloin sandwich and all three of us took half home. The pork was twice the size of the bun! My side of sauteed veggies had a nice seasoning to it too. I ordered a burger that cost $10 and I received something equivalent to size and taste to that of a $5 McDonald's burger very disappointing stay away. What a great place to eat and drink. I was camping nearby and I went in there for lunch and beer. The staff was friendly and kind, the burger I got was amazing and they had a variety of beers. This was our first visit, recommended by a "local". We were told the burgers were the best around so we went straight to the burger section of the menu and didn't really read much else. We ordered a Cerno burger (1/2 pound w/fried onions, cheese, mushrooms, ranch dressing and lettuce) and a mushroom swiss which came with gravy (our first experience but wanted to try it) The waitress suggested we order it on the side. I've got to say the burgers were delicious however, with everything on them and also the fries, everything was extremely salty! We dipped a corner of the burger in the gravy but used it to dip our fries. The burgers were big and juicy and depite the saltiness we enjoyed them. I would love to go back and try something else on the menu. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry. read more

Wow! Great food, great atmosphere & even cooler place. It feels so right to be sitting in those high back boothes with all the dark hard wood & lighting just right. Then the food arrived!! She got the buffalo tenderloin & I got the PBR burger. Both were great! She previously had the buffalo tenderloin & that's what brought us there. It was my first time & I don't mind the 45min drive from the QC. That PBR burger was top 5 burgers I've ever had! The patty is so flavorful by itself. Great beef flavor you want with pepperjack cheese & the deep fried slice of what I think is swiss cheese then the sriracha cream sauce. Its a big burger so be hungry. Absolutely nothing to eat for vegans!!! Sad because it's a very popular place. My friend ordered a salmon entree - dry and overly salty. The baked potato was very steamed not baked. The side salad was watery. The onion rings were half raw. A couple of years ago when they had a carnivore pasta dish on the menu, the chef made me a mushroom pasta dish. If you ever feel like stepping back into the early 20th century, then you need to step through the door of this place. I've been here twice and ordered the PBR burger (different and amazing), then the black and blue burger, which comes with bleu cheese and bacon(....yeah! Speaks for itself!). AMAZING. The waitress was incredible! I wish I remembered her name. The dollar PBR is a deal you just can't beat and for some reason, it tastes way better from their tap than any other tap PBR. Great food. Had a cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese and potato salad. Usually when I get pepperjack it is usually bland but their's actually had a mild kick to it. The burger was very fresh, definitely not frozen, and cooked perfectly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is I thought the service was a little slow. it was not busy at all but took a little long to get my food. Otherwise everything was great. Bar and seating area gives you the old school feel but very clean and neat. You may think its a bit pricey, but really for the portion size and the freshness it is spot on. read more

So first off "the bar," as in the wooden part where you belly up to, is spectacular. There's some cool history to Cerno's which alone probably warrants at least 3 stars. I'd agree with the other reviews that mentioned minimal seating -- lots of bar stools but maybe 8-10 tables max. Get there early if you're with a group. The menu's huge particularly for a bar, but we played it safe and went with the Sourdough Burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the sourdough was crisp and buttery. The fries, unfortunately didn't belong on the plate. Clearly they were of the frozen variety and were awful. Our bartender's name was Jessi, and I think she was having a bad night. Not overly friendly. Overall, it's definitely worth stopping in. read more

They were busy mid-day on a Saturday, so we sat at the bar and ate in lieu of waiting for a table. The bartender was great - very friendly, and worked hard. She had a full bar of patrons, and it is a long bar - she kept up with the drink orders for the full restaurant - and we had all our needs taken care of promptly. We had reservations for Cernos. They send texts to verify your reservation. We did not get a text or even asked for phone number. Text went to ??? They canceled our reservations. When we arrived they said we cancelled our reservations. They finally seated us BUT said we had to be done in one hour. Great bar with around 15-20 beers on tap. The staff is very friendly. Good place for groups but it is busy so it is a good idea to make reservations. I am a repeat customer so I have had most of the food on the menu and it is all excellent. You get excellent portions and the food is cooked exactly how you order it. I came to visit this beautiful, friendly town. Everyone I've met is so outgoing especially the staff at Cerno's bar and grill. I've been here three times already and it surely is not a disappointment. From the managers to the hostess, everyone is respectful and takes care of me. Leslie and her team really know what they are doing. My favorite is that the drinks and food are amazing. Cool bar to come and relax watch the games and meet new people.
