I would highly recommend Roberto and Pro Fitness Movers for any of your gym equipment needs.

Extremely disappointing experience moving and reinstalling a full home gym…read more I hired Pro Fitness Movers and worked directly with Roberto to move my complete home gym from Woodbridge to Fairfax Station. Unfortunately, after seeing how my home, brand-new gym flooring, equipment, and wall-mounted squat rack were left, I would not hire this company again. If you value your home, your flooring, and expensive gym equipment, make sure whoever you hire has adequate manpower, proper moving equipment, floor protection, moving blankets, a bad-weather plan, and understands exactly how wall-mounted equipment should be installed before the job begins. Things started off well. Roberto was friendly and communication was good. Before he quoted the job, I sent videos showing the equipment that needed to be moved, including my Rogue squat rack, cable machines, treadmill, dumbbell rack and dumbbells, weight plates, benches, and other equipment. I even offered to let him inspect everything in person, but he chose to quote the job from the videos. I also discussed mounting my Rogue squat rack at the new house. He told me that if I located the studs, he could mount it. I went out of my way to make the job easier. I placed blue painter's tape on the floor and walls showing exactly where the equipment should go. For the squat rack, I personally located the studs, marked each stud with blue tape, and drew a line through the center so there would be no guessing. I also asked them to remove the tape afterward. Despite that preparation, the rack installation was disappointing. The wall-mounting system came with 16 lag screws, but Roberto decided that only 12 were needed. When I later noticed hardware was missing, he gave me six additional lag screws and said his coworker had thought the remaining screws were trash. The rack also was not positioned the way I had carefully marked it, and I ended up having to address the placement and remove the tape myself. The first scheduled move was canceled because Roberto said his truck broke down. I understood and we rescheduled. On the rescheduled day, it had been raining heavily and the property was muddy. I specifically told Roberto about the mud and asked if they were still comfortable proceeding. He said yes. During the move, he then complained that there was more equipment than expected and that some of it was "industrial." That was frustrating because I had already sent videos showing the equipment and had offered an in-person inspection before the quote. The biggest issue came when everything was brought into my new home. For a company specializing in gym-equipment moving, I expected proper protection for the house and equipment. Instead, I did not see adequate floor runners, moving blankets/pads, or other protection being used while heavy equipment was being moved inside during muddy conditions. The photos show the result. Mud and dirt were tracked throughout large sections of my brand-new rubber gym flooring, not just near the entrance. Dirt was spread around the machines, squat rack, dumbbell rack, and walking areas. Some of the equipment itself was also left dirty and muddy. I had just installed this flooring and ended up spending hours vacuuming and cleaning it afterward. What frustrated me even more was the response when I brought it up. Roberto acknowledged that the move probably should have been canceled and indicated that he had been waiting for me to cancel because he had already canceled the previous appointment. That is exactly why I hired a professional moving company. If conditions are bad enough that the job should not be done, I expect the professional to make that call or arrive with the proper protection. I understand that moving a complete gym is difficult. My issue is the lack of preparation, inadequate protection for my home and flooring, the condition some of my equipment was left in, complaints about equipment that had already been disclosed, and the squat-rack installation despite me clearly marking the studs and placement beforehand. I would NOT recommend.

We bought a Precor Glide FTS from Chip at Atlantic Fitness Brokers today. This is the second piece…read moreof equipment we bought from him, after a leg press machine a year and a half ago. The machine Precor machine was used, which reduced the price by over 50 percent. Chip refurbished it, and excepting a few minor "chips" of paint missing, it is in great condition. I knew I wanted this particular machine because I had used it elsewhere. As I said commenting on the leg press machine, when buying new equipment, what's important is the manufacturer because if there's a warranty issue the manufacturer stands behind it. But when buying used equipment, the character of the sales person is of the utmost importance because that person's word is really the only recourse if there's a problem. I have found Chip to be honest in describing the equipment, answering our questions fully. He never tries to upsell. The equipment he sells is in excellent condition. The delivery and assembly went smoothly (with no damage) despite having to go down a flight of stairs and making a sharp turn at the bottom. He spent ample time showing me some exercises to do on the machine. In sum, I highly recommend doing business with Chip for fitness equipment.

I came here after my nearly 20 year old Life Fitness treadmill finally bit the dust. After looking…read moreat several treadmill review websites that all seem to give the same packaged information, as well as reviews from runners and treadmill enthusiasts who have their own opinions that often ran contrary to what the review websites advertised, I realized I needed to speak to someone in person. I was greeted quickly by John and Barry, who answered my numerous questions that I had prepared in advance, but also supplied their own knowledge in the field. Much of what I heard from them mirrored what I had read from runners themselves, leading me to think that the review websites are just advertisers in disguise. They explained the differences between multiple treadmills and allowed me to run on them as I saw fit in order to feel these differences in real time. To John's credit, there was never any attempt to upsell, but rather just show what different options and benefits there are at different price points. In fact, I found the entire experience to be quite refreshing and straightforward. Barry even gave me tips on how to set up my little home gym and rationale for how he chose his own treadmill. I will also say that I received quite a good deal that I would not have been able to find online. What a win for a brick and mortar store! Oh and one other thing, treadmills make much less noise and impact than they did 20 years ago!! If only my old Life Fitness died years ago.

While we liked some of the options, we mentioned to John that what we REALLY wanted was to repair our old elliptical, but that we'd been frustrated in our contacts with the manufacturer's technicians. Even though it potentially meant the loss of a sale, he gave us a service recommendation, which worked out well for us. We were quite impressed by John's helpfulness and integrity. When our our elliptical finally does bite the dust, we are definitely going to go to Johnson's for the replacement !

We are living in the middle of COVID-19 and I am very vulnerable so logically, I can't go to my…read moregym. But I have to get exercise for health reasons so my husband and I decided that if I can't go to the treadmills there, we were going to try to bring one to me. When you are shopping for a treadmill, you can read reviews online and check Consumer Reports and even watch "guided tour" videos on YouTube. There just aren't really very many places where you can go and check one out in person for yourself. And with a purchase that is that expensive, I really feel most comfortable being hands on. I did my homework and found two brands/ models that I felt most comfortable with. And then, I called a gentleman who owns a treadmill repair business locally. I explained my situation and while he is not currently servicing treadmills for home use because of COVID, he was willing to spend quite a bit of time talking to me. He immediately talked me out of the two I had chosen and suggested another brand. After getting off the phone, my husband and I watched a "video tour" and we were sort of underwhelmed... This brand does not have bells and whistles but it is a workhorse. The best thing about chatting with the repair man was that he directed me to a business who sells them about 40 minutes from our home. So now I was going to get to see them in person! I immediately loved the salesman/ owner -- Magic Kayhan. He was patient, kind and I felt zero pressure to buy anything. There was no up-sale to a fancier product and he was very forthcoming after assessing our household need that we didn't need anything "more". We had the option to look at where his workers are cleaning and reconditioning some models while other models are being completely refurbished (you basically get a "like new" model that comes with a 1-year warranty from him). He said he likes his customers but only wants to see them again if they want new or more equipment. He never wants to sell things that are going to break. Ultimately we ended up with a LifeFitness 93T that his crew "re-manufactured". We set delivery for a few days away and had a space ready for arrival. The two-man crew took about 30 minutes to disassemble the treadmill to get it down into my basement and reassemble it. They tested it before they left. They were pleasant, polite and very efficient. They wore masks the entire time -- very considerate. I am so grateful that the repair guy referred us down to Total Fitness Outlet. I am so happy that I ended up with Magic who treated us so fairly and was so honest. If I had to recommend anyone or place to a friend trying to go through this process (which was not easy and took us a few weeks) I would absolutely send them here. P.S. They don't just sell treadmills. They have almost *anything* you can think of!
