I had an appointment this morning and I over slept, I called and spoke with Dawn who was trying to find me another testing site before my Permit expires, she found me a location not to far away but advices me that she would put on a wait list for somewhere closer, I was not expecting her to text me back that she found some openings closer and for today, Can I say Exceptional Customer Service my experience with the phone call was very pleasant, but to receive the text made my day, I love Great Customer service, she doesn't know how that uplifted my spirits to day....Thank you Dawn..... read more

My daughter had a terrible experience at Century Driving school, particularly, with Wade T. Wade was very unpleasant from the beginning. Immediately, my daughter was anxious because she was sitting next to an angry man. She made several silly mistakes in the beginning of the drive that she wouldn't have made if she was comfortable. He scolded her, yelled at her, and belittled her when she was confused about his directions. I was shaking in the back seat as I had to watch my daughter go through this experience. In any other situation I would have demanded that he talk to my daughter with respect but was told I could not speak. I would NEVER recommend this company to others. I hope Wade T finds Jesus and his heart is changed. Wow. read more

Man, sad news -- I didn't pass the parking portion. You need 6 points or fewer to pass, but I ended up with 7. The test is $80, and honestly some places feel like they make you take it twice on purpose. beginning of the test you said do not put your head out the window but you can like I was really confused about that For the first part, the instructor told me to pull up to the cones. I pointed at the two cones right in front of me with the pink line and asked, "These ones?" She said yes, so I pulled up exactly to that line. Then she suddenly said it wasn't those cones -- it was the ones farther back -- and made me pull up almost all the way to the end of the driveway. went with it. I did exactly what she told me pulled up right to the line and right before the cones I lost two points there I found out since she made me go for a little bit are you ready for this I seen someone else stop at the same spot even with my sister there since I have to have a person with me in the car she pass that part didn't get two points taking away Second part was backing up and turning. I even asked her before starting because the diagram showed the car on the far right side. She said no I don't want to get in with that , so I did it her way. I barely tapped the bottom of a cone and knew I'd lose a points, but I figured I was still okay. all right now let's get to the lady who was driving and did the second part I barely touched the cone bottom but she full on hit the cone went forward backwards forward backwards I don't know that's allowed it when she told me you cannot go forward I'm like all right that's the reason I reset Then for parallel parking, I did it the way she explained. I've done it plenty of times in real cities with bigger vehicles. She said it wasn't "perfect," so I adjusted. She even mentioned I could go forward to make it exact, but when I did that, she counted it as 2 more points. The car they had was a tiny sports car with a backup camera -- I barely fit in it. now let's get to the driver after I did my parallel part she told me to go to I get to the line and behind me in the cone but this lady just went way forward like a car length By the end, she said it added up to 7 points. If I had 6 or even 5 I would've passed. I was annoyed, so I watched the next person -- a woman -- do the test right after me. She did the same thing I did where I supposedly lost 2 points at the start, but the instructor didn't deduct anything from her. She also backed into a cone pretty hard and kept moving back and forth multiple times, and still passed. For parallel parking, bet she used the backup camera and even went way past the pink line -- something I was told I couldn't do. So yeah... she passed, but I didn't. I got docked for things she wasn't, and that's literally why I didn't pass. I so wanted to record this her test and show it the person after me only I tried to record but I realized I was on a phone call it won't let me switch my camera on it's $80 I sold on a refund this thing was bullshit but I figure I give people a warning the person most likely give you a test has a really small sports car kind of style if you're a big person a specialist she has to be outside the car and watching you in the cold she doesn't like the cold read more

Daughters was crying when she came back even though she passed her test she said her experience with him was not very pleasant . They really screwed me over. Approx. 500,000 miles driven over the past 4 years with no incident, let alone accident, but I fail a test for my dream job because these dunces can't recognize safe, cautious, legal driving habits while they mark nonsense down on their little clipboard cause you didn't find their little addresses or whatever while driving. An absolutely pathetic choice for both businesses and evidently new drivers (based on other reviews). Instructor wasn't a good commentator. She failed my son based on one thing but really didn't explain why well to either my son or I. I understand if you need to fail someone but to not explain why we'll isn't fail or right. Not worth the $80 to get nothing out of it. Learning from mistakes is important. This place is a joke and they just fail people just to take their money. My son just went to take his and he failed him for parallel parking when he pulled in the very first time it was perfect but Wade T the instructor continued to tell him go forward and back when he did not need to so he got too many points so he couldn't continue to drive. He set him up to fail the parking and seemed to have an attitude the entire time. I would never take my kids here again and should have listened to my gut because this place did the same thing to me 20 years ago. I also watched a kid parallel park right before my son did it and I kid you not the kid parked perfect and they failed him too. I felt so bad because he did nothing wrong he probly did better than most experienced drivers do. Horrible! my son was unable to log in and called for help, answer was "you are late for class and now kicked out of the entire session"! no help at all and I was charged almost $40 for missing the class on top of the $79 payment! I called and they said because of the contract I am out of luck. seriously they boast they are the largest school in MI and yet won't help a kid if he has issues logging in. do not wast your money with them. might be convenient but horrible to work with. read more

Dana was my daughter's instructor. She took meticulous notes during her sessions with my daughter, highlighting her strengths, weaknesses, and things she needed to work on. Dana's communication was so helpful. And yes, she encouraged me to have my daughter drive with other people, but that is just so she could get more driving experience. I was very pleased with Dana. My phone calls and texts to her and to Century Driving School are always answered promptly. read more

I would give it a zero star. I started out with an instructor Dana, all she cared about was money. As I adjusted my seat, she would first ask me if I could find someone to practice with so I could save some of my money. On my third and fourth times, she commented on me that it was a good thing I have a part-time job to pay the fee. I did schedule ahead to continue my training with her. I ended up telling her nicely that I decided not to do a further lesson on Century. I ended up owing the company $158 for no reason. Today, I had my first road test. It was horrible, NEVER EVER do the road test with WADE. I did fine with parking, but on the road, he was impatient with me. I made a couple of mistakes at the start and he tells me I'm going to fail and asked me why I didn't do as told. After he said I am going to fail he tells me that I am an unsafe driver. Next, while I was going to accelerate making my left turn, he yelled at me for not accelerating. In my mind was that I'm trying not to wreak your car, sir. I'm not used to his car anyways, so he shouldn't expect a new driver to know how to drive any kind of vehicle at once. Third, we were going to enter the highway, I started to gain speed before entering the highway, and he tells me not to speed. On the highway, he wanted me to change lanes when I know I was going to pass the speed limit if I make the lane change to the left. I decided to slow down a bit so that when I make a lane change I do not go over the speed limit. He tells me to speed up because I am going slow when I was driving 65mph. Finally, when we drove back to the testing place, he reminded me that I am an unsafe driver and I need to practice more. The overall road test was horrible, I couldn't stand his nonstop telling me that I am an unsafe driver. He is impatience when you haven't or have made a small mistake. I do not think I am an unsafe driver!! All I know is that I have some areas to improve next time I take the road test. read more

I don't have a review for the school itself but rather for the road test instructor we encountered not once but twice. The first road test we scheduled for my adult driver daughter, the website glitched and did not take our payment but gave us a confirmation number. We drive through a fairly heavy snow storm to show up and the instructor was very rude and not very understanding of our situation. Fast forward to our second scheduled road test. We intentionally scheduled it for a different city farther away to avoid this woman. So surprise, we got her again. Google maps sent us to a location that was down near a lake/park but no signs of traffic cones or anything to indication it was our intended location. Also we were 30 minutes early in case there were issues. We called the main number for the company and they gave us instructions but they still didn't seem right. Lots of industrial buildings, dead end streets and semi trailers but no visible traffic cones. So the instructor called us herself. She was loud, obnoxious and kept cutting us off when trying to explain our location. She would yell at us to stop when we were in the center of an intersection and tell us to turn around which goes against everything she should be teaching not to do. She thought she spotted our vehicle and continued to berate my daughter even when we tried to explain that she was maybe watching the wrong vehicle. When we did finally find her she yelled at my daughter that she had a tight schedule because she drives a school bus, and how exactly is that our problem? So wrong location provided, very confusing directions in a very sketchy part of town, in a dirt parking lot squeezed between two trucking companies and rudeness beyond belief. All this was supposed to help my daughter be successful at her road test? It's bad enough that the state of MI farms this out to a third party but seriously, they could do better with the companies they utilize. From what I experienced with this woman, without having to drive with/for her I've concluded that she should be no where near learning drivers or a bus driver with vulnerable kids as passengers. So input from my daughter from the driving test: she is a safe and cautious driver and when she tried to justify a turn she hesitated at, the instructor talked over her and told her she was wrong, again is that good practice from an instructor for driving? My daughter is confident in her abilities and didn't let this crazy woman deter her from her goal! read more

Segment 1 and 2 went well. I think they fail everyone the first time on their drivers test as a money grab. Everyone that I have spoken to had their kids fail at least once with this place. My kid did very well with no checks, but went north instead of south on the highway. This intersection is tricky for an adult to figure out as the highway signs are both together at the north on ramp and both on ramps are on the same side. They called it disregarding instructor instructions and instantly failed my kid. I asked if they ever turned down the wrong street and had to turn around in a driveway to go back the other way. They weren't fond of that! I will be using another company with my younger child. Their phones are another issue for sure. Good luck at calling and actually getting ahold of someone! read more

My daughter took the road test with Jacqueline and I was terrified! Not with my daughter's driving but with the instructor. She screamed at her a few times during the driving test and I wanted to snap! The way she spoke was so disrespectful at times. I understand that job would be super stressful, driving around with unskilled teenage drivers, but that does not make it ok to be so harsh. I don't even talk to my child the way she did. This was a horrible experience for my daughter. Wade Trimbly had her drive a car with a broken seat. She is our 5th child, and the best and most prepared of all of them. He had her turn on a snow covered road where she couldn't see the turn lane. Then he failed her for it. He told her that he understood that she couldn't see the lanes, but that it was being recorded so he had to fail her. (If someone is monitoring him, wouldn't that someone notice his rude demeanor and poor choice of maneuvers for a driving test?) The drive took all of 5 minutes. He doesn't seem to like people. The driving instructor, Wade, was verbally abusive to my child. Screamed at her until she was crying and so clearly she wasn't in a good head space to park. Had her try to paralleled park and then immediately failed her. "Road test" lasted all of 4 minutes. When I contacted the office to request the video from inside the car, they ignored me. Won't even call me back. It's just a racket to take your $70 and get you to come back again and again and again. read more

If you have a teenager taking the road test I would not recommend Century Driving. Especially, not with WYDE. We could tell as soon as he got out of his car that is was crabby. My husband tried to engage in small talk but he would not even crack a smile. Our daughter was more then prepared for the test but never got to drive with him. He failed her on the parallel parking portion. Granted her parking was not perfect but I don't know of anyone who can parallel park a car without adjusting the car several times. There is one word that perfectly describes Century Driving School's ability to educate and understand their peers: terrible. Century Driving School's instructors, in my personal experience, do not enjoy their time with their peers, and that is a huge issue considering many of their peers are teenagers who are already anxious about driving in general. The condescending attitudes mixed with the overall grumpiness delivered from the instructors do not make the students feel comfortable at all. An individual posted a review in the past stating that "[The instructor's] demeanor was to see someone fail instead of succeed," and I could not agree with that statement even more; failure is essential rather than success be the goal. With multiple failures, the more money this business earns, in this case $70 each test. If people are going to spend their hard-earned money on anything, they should be treated with respect instead of arrogance. Whether you want to learn how to drive or you want to pass your drivers skills test, think long and hard about your hard-earned money being wasted on this terrible business -- Century Driving School. read more
