Omg just had a trauma with this place! Had a bit of a scrape with my car, so upon a recommendation from a really nice man, I took it in to century auto refinishers last week for a quote. I met Phil the owner and he seemed really nice. I clearly pointed out that other than the main damage to the back corner where I had took the paint off, there were a few little bits which needed polishing on other areas a of the car; 3 marks in total which I had already been told by 4 other auto shops were tiny things which any place doing the large job would usually include in the service. He asked that I wash the car to ensure he could see the little extra bits and I said I would. I was happy with the quote and he agreed he could book me in on the Wednesday if I wanted a courtesy car. Then he changed it to Thursday. I hand washed my car to perfection for him in the freezing cold. I called up to double check everything was ok to go ahead and he told me that actually the courtesy car wasn't available as someone hasn't brought it back on time. I was fine with it even though it was a bit disappointing and he arranged to do it on the Friday; possibly with a courtesy car or possibly without and maybe a lift home and assurance that the car would be ready for me to take for the school run. I washed the car again fri morn but didn't hear from Phil. I called him on the afternoon and he apologized and said he had been busy and the courtesy car hadn't come back and he could do any day the following week. I asked for Monday, he said yes, I thought; Great! At last! Yey! So I took the car in this morning, everything seemed fine, I showed him the few bits to remind him and was about to leave when I remembered the scuff on the wing mirror. I went back in to the office to tell him and he got really shirty with me and started saying he hadn't quoted me for the wing mirror, mark on door and the minor scratch on the boot as well! I was so confused! He basically ended up refusing to do the job even though he's had me waiting on the bloody courtesy car for 6 days! I tried to remind him that he had asked me to wash the car for him so that he could see the little marks that would need polishing out to no avail. I even asked how much extra would it be for those bits n he was just like nah I'm just not doing it now, like I was a totally bad customer! I may seem upset in this review but I am honestly a nice person and not a nightmare customer at all. I left this place wondering what I had done that was so wrong. I was back to square one and feeing quite shook up; ending up in tears in the car park! I pulled myself together and took my car to another place that my friend had recommended. The guy at this place even did the tiny marks on the door and the wing mirror for nothing while he was quoting me for the main damage, so god knows why the other guy was making out like I was a cheeky cow, trying to get loads of free work out of him?? It was massively upsetting first thing on a morning! No idea what I did wrong! The only thing I can think of is he had a better job to offer that courtesy car to someone for and my job just wasn't bringing in enough money? Stupid. As I could have been a long term customer with two cars in our household and now I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. I will certainly make sure that any of my friends and clients know not to either! read more
