Yes, it's all new renovated, fresh and looking fabulous. And happy dance for the clearance racks- nabbed myself a few winter jackets at least than half the retail cost in preparation for Scottish winter. Overall, I'm quite pleased. Target has been consistently good for as long as I can remember and this is certainly one of the nicer stores.

This store sells everything from maternity wear, to baby/kids wear, toys, prams, car seats, bottles, nursing pads, monitors, the list goes on. Conveniently located in chadstone shopping center, this mothercare isn't a huge store- but everything that should be there, is. The staff are very polite and friendly, and usually know exactly what you're after. There are also sales that seem to be constantly on, so the prices there are pretty good considering the quality of the products. My favorite items here are the children's toys, they sell a wide variety that you wouldn't find in an ordinary toy shop such as 'toy r us'. Mothercare is generally my one stop shop for all things baby. I hardly ever go in and leave empty handed. Definitely suggest visiting if you haven't before- good quality products at affordable prices. They also have a loyalty card system.

I love a place I can go into and wander, look at clothes, toys, and appliances and still come out of there spending only a little bit of money. This Kmart is at the Chadstone Shopping Centre and in the perfect location. It's easy to get into Chadstone, head straight there and get out, providing you're only going there during this trip. The staff at this Chadstone have always been helpful, although I do tend to dislike the self check outs. I always have a massive issue with them. I don't know if it's just me, but they always end up malfunctioning when I'm at them, mind you with a screaming child! The only benefit to that is that the staff in charge of helping out at the self check outs are quite friendly. Why don't I just use the regular check outs? See previous explanation of the screaming kid and then refer to the super long line with a real person cashier that has about 10 people in line waiting for service. If they could focus more on getting the people out in a timely manner instead of reducing the staff that are on, that would be great. I can't hold it against this Kmart though because I know that decision is made at a corporate level.

Hidden off in a residential street away from the main centre of Oakleigh, this op-shop is a bit of…read morea hidden gem. They have one of the best CD sections I've ever come across in an op-shop. If 90's and early 2000's pop is your thing, you're bound to come out with some excellent finds. There's also often good stuff to be found in the book section, but it's a bit disorganised so it does take a bit of hunting, The biggest strength of this store is the furniture section. They tend to have quite a bit of reasonable quality furniture, especially various types of chairs.

In the…read moresouth eastern suburb of Oakleigh directly behind Chadstone (there's a small mall around there you may have heard of?) is a Vinnies worthy of note. In a quiet side street five minutes walk from the Oakleigh station this shop houses a large and decent selection of secondhand goods. The big surprise to this shop is its large furniture selection. Follow the bric a brac selection and a doorway opens to a small warehouse filled with decent furniture including couches, retro dressing tables, dining tables and select white goods. There is also an interesting selection of frames and vintage (ok just OLD) women's clothing.
