The funky Miss Alexis, always there for support!

CSDA is the best!!! I started taking my daughter here 4 years ago when she was 4 years old. She was shy, timid, and wouldn't talk to anyone. She quickly came out of her shell, due to the love, comfort and support of her teachers, peers and older dancers. She has learned and grown so much in the 4 years she's been at CSDA, not only as a dancer but also as a human. This studio has become her home away from home!!!

We love CSDA! My daughter has been attending classes for over 4 years and on the competition team for 3. She has grown tremendously! Not just as a dancer but as a young women! She is truly cared about and loved by her teachers! CSDA is our second home and truly a place of peace and joy for her, where she can dance her little heart out! We have definitely found a family here and will be here for the long haul! I cannot say enough how thankful I am for this place!

My child has been dancing at CSDA since 2010 - first as a rec dancer and then as a member of the competition team since 2012. I have nothing but good things to say: my child has been taught with love, patience and kindness. Teachers are firm but caring. They are highly skilled and the quality of teaching just gets better every year as the studio grows and staff is added. The facilities are clean and safe: yes, there are two exits in every studio. There are video cameras in the lobby for parents to watch their children if they are being taught in the back studio; the other two studios have viewing windows. This is a place where kids learn more than just dance: they learn how to be good humans, how to work together in a choreographed group routine, how to be kind and supportive of each other and how to work hard to achieve skills, amongst other things. I highly recommend Alison Hooper Keslake and her staff at Centre Stage Dance Academy!!

Had to think about my experience in this dance studio because as a non dancer who was genuinely curious about learning some dances, my experience here was less than fortunate. However, lets highlight some positives: 1. The owner Olga and the person on the front desk are really nice. You can tell that the owner is very structured in how she thinks about dance and when she talks to you there is passion in there. 2. The space is amazing and I can tell that they are super serious about dance. My experience however, on my second visit was awful. Again as a background, i have 0 dance experience and was just trying to learn some bachata. However, the instructor who was teaching bachata was literally on one. Basically calling me out infront of the class and highlighting how shit i am and then saying its because she loves everyone in the class that she is doing that. At one point she said some things about the steps and how some of us were doing it wrong and then stopped and looked at me and said, "It's YOU!! You are doing it wrong." Which at that point the class laughed. Seriously, i already know am shit, and am sure every partner knows am shit. That's why I am paying to take the classes, to get better. You know, I have taught a few things and one saying that's well known is "praise in public, criticize in private". I have no intention of become a professional dancer, so maybe a bit of grace might be good and if you have a problem with something i have done, as an instructor, pull me aside and talk to me. I am more than happy to make amends and apologize and have no ego. Anyway, my experience here was less than prime and honestly if it wasnt for Olga, salvaging part of the situation and issuing a refund, i would have gone lower in rating.

My daughter has trained in a wide range of styles--jazz, lyrical, tap, and ballet--and the quality of instruction across the board has been outstanding. The teachers and staff are not only highly knowledgeable, but also genuinely warm and supportive. They create an environment where dancers feel encouraged, challenged, and valued. Being part of the competitive dance team has been especially meaningful. It's helped my daughter grow tremendously--not just as a dancer, but as a person. She's gained confidence, discipline, and lasting friendships. One of her absolute favorite experiences each year is performing in The Nutcracker. It's such a special opportunity, and SMDC makes it feel magical while still maintaining a nurturing, positive atmosphere. We're so grateful to be part of such a loving and dedicated dance community. I highly recommend SMDC to anyone looking for a studio that combines excellent training with heart.

Here's your translation:…read more My son has decent athletic ability. At four, he could climb a pole at the park, and by five, he was riding a bike without training wheels. So, I enrolled him in this street dance class. After a year, he still can't do anything. The teacher probably doesn't even know the basics, like the Thomas spin, yet started teaching others. We've decided to stop wasting time with this useless street dance class. If you want your child to actually learn something, don't come here. If you just want to waste your own and your child's time, feel free to sign up. --------------------------------- Reply to this owner: Obviously, my son has been attending classes with you. You're trying to dodge responsibility by claiming he hasn't. I'll be coming tomorrow to cancel your terrible and useless course. Also, your response will be shared with everyone. Not only do you fail at teaching dance, but your attitude is poor, and you have a habit of shifting blame.

She loves the annual recital performances and joined the Ballet Kukan Theatrical Company competition team last year. There are a lot of kids in her age group who have been dancing at Ballet Kukan for years, but still new kids occasionally join and are welcomed into the community. I really value the skills and confidence she has gained under Ms. Noriko's instruction. She has had different teachers over the years, but two of her current teachers (besides Ms. Noriko) are Ms. Angie and Mr. Julian; she has good things to say about them as well. Ms. Elena who handles all the administration at the front desk really cares about the kids too.

The 5 lessons were just enough and his instructions were very clear and helpful. He helped shape the 3 min. dance so it was appropriate to the space/venue and to our comfort level. To this day, I can't believe my bf and I pulled it off! We were so nervous but everyone said it looked like Dancing with the Stars.
