I just got back from a trip to the Chinese Visa Application Center, and I am in fact a fan, weird…read moreas that sounds. Located right near Peel Metro you scoot up to the 7th floor, grab a number and in my case get called almost immediately. You can come without an appointment between 9am and 3pm and there was almost no one else there. I had a super kind and helpful agent who helped me figure out what I was missing, and then showed me how to use the computer and printer they have set up in the office for folks to use when they are missing documents. (You need to provide a copy of a return flight and at least one night booked at a hotel or hostel.) There is even a photobooth in the office so you can take you shots right there, and it's the coin operated kind like you find in the metro, ie; super simple and inexpensive. Here's hoping my application gets approved and on time for my next work trip since they hold on to your passport while they process your application, but she seemed unshakably confident that it would be there at 9am on the day she named. I have that feeling of triumph one gets after a successful encounter with bureaucracy and it's mostly due to the awesome service agent so yay, my first Yelp review of a foreign country's visa application center! So many stars!

Barely, looked up, so I went to the white guy then he scolded me that other line was for Special guest. Ok, but I need service. Then we went back & forth about checkin bag. I told him my gf coming into Canada had same size bag & she carried it on along with 20 other people I saw, Canadian side is not helpful, or friendly. My ticket should've said disability on it, but I was told to lift bag & put on lift twice. Desk clerk never asked if I needed wheelchair assistance, or helped w/ bag. I can walk on sometimes, but bc of spinal damage legs goes numb & I can't use them. So, if ur permanently wheelchair bound & need Porter Airlines assistance take another Airline like United or AA who will help u from point A to B. Rude desk check-in clerk didn't even greet me well from the start, so I didn't want to continue the rude banter in pain. Leaving Newark International AirPort we had a Delay bc of Thunder storms & all customers had to book a hotel til next day interrupting our plans. So, on departure from Canada on a sunny day, I thought it should've been easy peasy, but such attitude. To my surprise, The American side was soooo helpful & nice. I thought the French side would've been better. No! It was my 1st trip on Porter Airlines, but I think it will be my last.

My daughter wanted to design a t-shirt and - not knowing anything about how to do this - I just googled "montreal t-shirt printing". Several options popped up but In Print seemed like a particularly high quality place. I emailed the shop and explained my daughter's ambition (and my absolute lack of knowledge regarding what I was doing) and the owner, Alex, responded to me in such a genuinely nice manner and offered to guide us through the process. It was such a touching level of customer care. We did some back and forth in terms of my daughter's design and he helped us figure out "what would work" given their printing process (and he took the time to explain everything to us in a simple manner). Then, we visited his shop (before the shirts were printed) so that my daughter could SEE how the process works. Alex and his crew were so generous in showing her around and they even let her do a tiny bit of one task (cleaning a "printing tray" once a design run is finished - I'm sure that I'm butchering terminology here). My daughter felt so good and so encouraged by this. Finally, we ordered a batch shirts (which my daughter will be selling for charity). That part of the transaction went super smoothly and In Print even was able to get our favorite shirt brand for printing (Bella & Canvas). Every step of the experience was amazing and I simply can't believe how amazing Alex and the In Print team were. They kept overdelivering in a very caring manner. I'm a business school professor and I've never experienced or seen something at this level before. I am so grateful and FOREVER a loyal fan of In Print. THANK YOU SO MUCH ALEX + IN PRINT.
