How do you rate a college you have absolutely no idea about? (mom review?) Leave it to the students and alum to "rate" their school based on their personal experiences (...and extraordinary success-har har?). I don''t know WHY Centre College is on here to begin with. It's one of the top 50 liberal arts schools in the country and has a faculty that's out of this world along with a beautiful campus and all around, all-year round...amazingness.
Prospective students: Always have a blast (especially if you party)
Students: Know how to party and get to class and get work done. A little sheltered for my taste, but theyre kind. A little creepy sometimes.
Faculty: The BEST. They want you to succeed and open up your mind, and try new things and to think in different ways. Truly challenge you.
Alumni: Can't stop going back.
Townies: Wish they could live in the magical place Centre students call home.
residence halls are very intimate (some new, some old) and facilites are great. They'll take care of you like youre their own and once your four years are up, you'll feel like you just graduated from Hogwarts. Beautiful ceremony, traditions and a magical aura. The professors make it a rite of passage that you will never forget. There's such respect for the community as a whole and you just have to be there to experience it.
I'm sorry your son chose Wake Forest because Centre College makes it a personal journey and tailors each experience to fit every individual. So we party hard...We study WAY more, mom. Changed my life and my view of KY. I'm from MA and KY is my second home. How do you rate this? As good as it gets for a small, private liberal arts college. The dining hall, facilities and residence halls has some happy workers, and I can imagine that the college and students make it easy to work there (although you'll run into the silver-spoon fed jerks who don't consider those who clean up after them and make their food everyday.) Everyone seems happy to be here, work here, attend and it all contributes tremendously to the Centre experience. Definitely deserves the "Colleges That Change Lives" title, as well as constant spots on the Princeton Review, Forbes and more. Diversity is lacking, but the school is doing everything it can in the most respectful ways possible. A little gem full of the best people you will meet in your life. Truly sticks out as it rests in the center of the misunderstood, misinterpreted, misrepresented state of KY. read more
