I've always delivered naturally without any medications or medical interventions. If you plan to go this route I highly recommend investing in a doula. My labor and delivery went amazing with no complications. Kenzie worked with me through my contractions, massaging and giving words of encouragement. Anita helped move me in positions to help me progress faster. She uses this peanut ball, which I have a love/hate relationship with. We labored together at my house for about three hours. Then we went to the hospital. I arrived there at 8cm, Anita again put me on my side on the peanut ball. I went from an 8 to a 10 in 20 minutes. I pushed my 7lb daughter out in two pushes. I've delivered five children without medications, three of those I used doulas. They were the absolute best experiences I have ever had and am so blessed that someone like Anita and Kenzie have the skills and knowledge to help guide me during the wonderful birth of my daughter Gretchen!

I'm very grateful for the work that Ciarra did for us and for teaching both me and my wife about the practice of hypnobirthing. When my wife first suggested a doula I was concerned that a doula might be "woowoo" or try to influence our decisions or approach. This was not the case at all. Prior to childbirth they offered unbiased information, introduced us to helpful tools and practices and took much of the mystery and anxiety out of child birth. During child birth the doula offered a steady and experienced hand so that my wife could focus on a safe delivery. Their techniques substantially reduced my wife's pain and in our case helped her have an unmedicated delivery. In short they helped us make an educated delivery plan and then used their experience to support our decisions relative to that plan during childbirth. Here are highlights of their service: - Met with us in our home and helped us prepare a birth plan and understand the birth process. - Were available to answer questions leading up to birth (which was particularly helpful in alleviating anxiety) - Met us at the hospital and advised throughout the labor. This was HUGE. Our doula helped us follow our birth plan, made recommendations for pain relief, did hands-on pain relief, gave me (dad) options for how to be most helpful, told us what was coming next, encouraged mom, and stayed with mom after the birth. - Stayed with us after birth until we felt comfortable -- What she didn't do (also important) was meddle in medical care or personal decisions, sideline dad or push an agenda. She had a great rapport with the hospital staff who clearly valued their help and were also glad she was there. I suggest that you talk with them if you want to learn more about the doula option.

We registered for an all day Childbirth class complete with a Seton hospital tour-- it was a wonderfully informative day that left us feeling confident and prepared for what to expect on "Labor Day". Jillian Silva, our childbirth instructor, was communicative via email and text in the days leading up to the class and welcomed us at the door upon arrival. The class presentation was delivered through PowerPoint slides, lectures, videos and hands-on demonstrations and practice. Jillian was very knowledgeable on all points discussed during the class, and had tangible hospital items for us to view and touch for further understanding and familiarity. We covered topics such as: what to pack in your hospital and baby bag, stages of labor, relaxation techniques, responsibilities of partner, options for labor pain relief (degrees of natural and non-natural options), labor aids/tools that the hospital provides and more! Jillian, who is also a certified Doula, has such a calming and confident nature. She was professional, timely, prepared and very friendly; she even made brownies for the class! Anyone who chooses to have her presence and expertise during their labor and delivery is one lucky mama. The class was from 9am-4pm with a 30 min lunch and the hospital tour from 3-4pm. The long day was totally worth it! I walked away from the class feeling equipped to do what my body knows how to do naturally, and if and when I need support, I now know who to contact. Thanks Jillian for being a great instructor!

Nursing has been anything but easy, and because our daughter is so tiny I have felt nothing but pressure for her to gain weight as quickly as possible... very difficult when breastfeeding is proving difficult. The onset of vasospasms so painful that it felt like a cigarette burning me straight through to my shoulder blade finally led me to make an appointment with My Pure Delivery. First of all, it was not covered by my insurance because Blue Cross Blue Shield sucks. But every dollar I paid out of pocket was worth the time they spent with me to ensure I felt comfortable utilizing the strategies they helped me master with their help. Additionally, they allowed me to come back periodically to weigh her at no additional cost so that we could monitor her weight without paying for yet another doctor's visit. I am forever grateful for the assistance My Pure Delivery gave me with a skill no one teaches you about, you are just supposed to inherently know how to do, and is perhaps the most stressful task I've ever had to do. MANY THANKS for the compassionate and patient help with breastfeeding.

When I found out I was having twins I BEGGED her to move back to Austin from Waco (but WEIRD, she couldn't ‍). She gave me great recommendations - I hope our new night Doula's can measure up to the amazing love, support, and service we got from Stephanie! She is also the only reason I was able to breastfeed for 8 months - she would take my calls and give tips (or call me down) and provide such potent reassurance. I could go on for days. Last thing - when I first found her info I was hesitant because we are not a churchy family - in hindsight I can't believe this gave me pause. She performed her work in such an incredible way - I know she has a lot of experience in spiritual child rearing, but was so unconditionally loving without pushing any message on any of us at any time (other that rah rah and you got this-type messages). We love you and we miss you!!! Also - please move back from Waco :)

She helped me think through my birth plan, and I felt comfortable asking her even silly questions. During the birth, she was invaluable. I had originally thought that having my husband and mom there would be enough people--but it turns out that with pitocin-induced contractions, I absolutely needed three people helping me stay focused! She also visited after the birth to answer more of my questions and offer some general breastfeeding support, too. I had wanted an intervention-free birth, but it didn't work out that way. Despite being induced, with her help and support I was able to give birth without pain medication or an epidural. She kept me focused AND kept my mom and husband focused on helping me effectively. Having Stephanie there gave me the best of both worlds--I was under a doctor's care in the hospital, but I feel like I got a natural birth experience despite being induced.

I…read moreknew I wanted to work towards having a natural birth and was told having a doula was essential. I filled out an inquiry form and she immediately got back to me. We set up a Zoom interview and right off the bat, I knew she was the doula for me. She was so calm, well spoken, and so experienced. I didn't even bother looking further for any other doulas because I knew I wanted to work with only her. Booking Peggy early in my pregnancy was a complete God send. Any time I felt anxious or worried about my pregnancy, I reached out to her and she immediately helped to calm me down. Through the package I booked, my husband and I also did hypnobirthing classes (through Empowered Beginnings with Ciarra). Loved the classes and even met other pregnant mamas who I am still friends with today. My husband and I learned so much about labor and delivery. It made me feel more confident as my pregnancy progressed and as the due date approached. I ended up going spontaneously into labor 2 weeks before my due date. Unexpected and a complete surprise but Peggy was supportive every step of the way. She provided text support while I labored at home. We eventually reached out to her to come to the house and after seeing me in person, she knew it was time for us to head to the hospital. I unfortunately experienced a significant amount of back labor due to my baby's positioning BUT Peggy remained next to me and my husband every moment at the hospital. Although I was in a significant amount of pain and exhausted from laboring for so long, Peggy helped to keep me calm and focused on delivering my baby girl safely. She never left our side as I pushed for 7 hours. She helped me and my husband make informed and important medical decisions. I honestly couldn't have done it without her physical and emotional support. She also took so many photos and videos so that was a nice surprise to have to look back on. Especially when you are in la la labor land and going in and out during active labor. She remained with us after our baby girl entered the world and although it was such a long night, she remained present, patient, and supportive the entire time. She is literally a saint and incredibly patient and kind. If you are lucky enough to be able to get on our calendar, I would say book her immediately. You will have zero regrets! I can honestly say that I couldn't have experienced this natural birth without her and if you are wanting a natural birth, you definitely want someone like her by your side!

This was our second baby and wanted to do things a bit differently. Peggy, listened to all requests, and was there to advocate for me, and during my short and quick labor she made sure I was hydrated, nourished, and comfortable. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better and beautiful birth experience. So glad we chose Peggy and our postpartum doula Sarah who was also super phenomenal! Sarah was with us for 3 weeks during my healing and postpartum- and could not recommend it enough. You need your rest and recovery, and as someone who is type A, it's takes a lot for me to relax. She made everything easier. From meal prep, to making sure our evening arrangements with new born was comfortable- it was a beautiful experience. Don't hesitate- these first few weeks/and months as a family you should be supported fully.
