We have been very happy with our experience at Central Peds! Top notch service and staff. We never have any issues getting an appointment and most importantly, have had GREAT experience with the nurse line when needed - even in the middle of the night. We've been taking kiddos here for more than 10 years and have always been satisfied. Our doc is Dr Richart, and over the years we've seen just about all their docs (and they have about 20 docs) through walk ins, emergencies and other wellness check ups and normal child vaccinations. We like them all. Central Peds was very helpful, ESPECIALLY when we were new parents, sent home with a little baby and no instruction manual. Clueless and scared, Central Peds was there for us and very helpful. We typically go to the location in St Paul/Falcon Heights at Snelling and Larpenter Ave. We've also been to the Woodbury location many times. Rooms have kid books and kids get stickers after each visit. Nurses and other staff are nice and show empathy. Free parking. We ended here on the recommendation of a friend and I would recommend - and have recommended - Central Pediatrics to anyone who is looking for a quality pediatrician. read more

Although they were quick to get him in at 5pm, they never did any diagnostic testing beyond just looking at him. They said it was a virus, after 3-4 days with a fever. Now we are on day 5 and headed to his primary care giver for a strep test. We will be finding another urgent care clinic to ensure our kids are healthy read more

If you are in search of your next pediatrican? Look no further. Dr. Heggie was so amazing to help me through my initial woes of breastfeeding as a trained lactation specialist that we remained loyal even after a move 2 1/2 hours away. That said all of the doctors we've seen even during walk in extended hours have been awesome. I'd highly recommend anyone curious to even set up a "meet and greet" visit if your just not sure. I did a ton of research before choosing this location and they have set my bar for pediatric care! read more

If I could rate higher, I would. I live out of state and was referred here by a friend. Over Thanksgiving weekend, my daughter's ear drum exploded and this place was not only open, but they were kind enough to let us come in right away. They are open 7 days a week at this place!!! We went in and were met by the front staff who were all very friendly and helpful with my insurance (first time using it out of town). There was a bit of a wait, but I expected that on a holiday weekend. I experienced ZERO attitude from anyone working through the holidays. In fact, I mentioned it must be a bummer for them and they weren't displeased to be working at all (or so they said! haha) When we saw the doctor, she was so kind and we discussed my daughter's history, what medications she had already tried, etc. She asked questions that were probably of course what any good doctor would ask, but I wouldn't have thought to offer the information she was looking for had I not been asked. Treatment was administered and we had to return the next day for round 2. The next day we were brought almost immediately back and were out in no time. All of the nurses were incredibly caring and kind. If I lived in MN, I wouldn't dream of going to another pediatrician! read more

Took our 2 year old in last night for a fever. Circumstances led to us arriving 10 minutes before close. They took us anyway and did a great job. We were in and out in under 1 hour. The facility is clean and comfortable. Dr. Gavigan and our nurse were great with me and my daughter. They were very understanding of her wanting to be held and worked around me to get all her vitals without me having to set her down. They spoke to her gently but respectfully (always a plus for me). And they were great about acknowledging and addressing my concerns. I didn't feel dumb for bringing her in, even though all we ended up doing was giving her Advil. They were thorough and patient despite being there late. The receptionist/intake person seemed a little annoyed that we were so late (and that I had to call my husband for insurance info that I accidentally left at home), but I'm willing to overlook that since overall we were so well taken care of. So glad we picked Central Peds read more

My 5 month old was having raspy rattling breathing in the evening. My nurse line told me to take him to central ped. I did. I arrived around 7 and met with a receptionist who was cold at best. There was no wait. We got taken back and they asked me to strip him down (which is the norm) they tried to put a old, used, worn out sensor (ew) on his toe to check oxygen. The nurse seemed to not have a clue what she was doing. After failing to basically put a bandaid on my infants toe 3 tries she asked someone else to try. I asked them to try a new sensor and she didn't seem too happy about it. Then they checked his temp by his armpit (not accurate) and did a naked weight (the norm). My son had lost a little weight. The dr came in and listened to his chest, checked his ears and throat. She said the rattle is in his nose and he has no ear infection. She said 'he's on the mend. There's nothing to worry about. I mentioned the weight loss. And she said 'nobody wants to eat when their sick. It's no big deal he's lost a little' When you weigh 16 pounds - 3 oz weight loss since 2 weeks ago is a BIG deal. And your nose can't rattle. He was having difficulty breathing and a medical doctor couldn't recognize it. Anyways I took him else where the next day and he was given a neb machine and antibiotics. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Avoid at any cost - they are just after your money. We were seeking for a quick pediatrician behavioral assessment to respond to our school need - and made an appointment with Dr Ngon after detailed explanation of what we need (they also got checklist from school). We visited Dr Ngon and then were waiting for her to return checklist to school. Which never happened... The communication through reception was terrible - we had to call them several times to finally get the contact from doctor - in meantime they lied to us about the status couple of times. Finally we were sent to other doctor (which also took a month) so we paid for the visit that gave us nothing - moreover it delayed whole process by three months! read more

Truly amazing clinic. Dr Nation is spectacular, a wise soul who always makes our daughter smile. They also have after hours walk in care (like urgent care) and a clinic-specific nurse line. I love going to the SAME clinic that knows my daughter, has her records, and same staff/practitioners during those unforeseen after hours visits. Most importantly, no matter when we're there, Everyone from front desk to nurses to doctors really cares about the kids, and we've received not only spectacular, warm fuzzy service but superb medical care. Front desk lady at Roseville location is horrible. Treated me horrible (young , black, single mom) then proceeded to be a completely different person with the white family of 4 (mom dad and two kids) that came in after me. The difference was night and day in her treatment of us. Both times I've visited I haven't appreciated her aura. Could be racism but I try not to assume. Then after getting a bad vibe from the front desk lady, Dr Diana Thyssen entered the room and before greeting me, scolded me for having my baby on the table unattended. Mind you I was within inches of her , I know my baby doesn't roll yet, she was 2 months old, and it was completely uncalled for. Most racism Is unintentional and that I understand. That however doesn't make it acceptable . I know when I'm being treated different because the color of my skin and I have always felt the staff here has treated me poorly because I am young and black and attend most appointments alone. Sadly I don't feel safe bringing my kids here anymore. I will be finding a new pediatrician asap. I won't allow my children to be subjected to poor treatment in a place meant to look out for their well being. read more

I have been to may Pediatrics. Their billing service is not good. They confuse customers with the Sick visit and emergency visit and bill heavily with the insurance. Also the wait time once you are moved to room is too much. read more

We have three kids under 8 so lots of trips to Central Pediatrics over the last five years. Overall we have been pleased with the service and the people, but the wait times are getting worse and worse by the visit. Business is good but the delays are getting longer and longer. Today when I commented about how long it had been, I was told and I quote "for walk in service, you get what you get". read more

We brought our daughter here on the recommendation of a friend and have had nothing but great experiences. Our daughter had some health issues as an infant and every doctor she saw was always thorough and caring. My favorite thing is the urgent care hours and that my child can see a pediatrician for urgent care (rather than a internal med or adult-focused practitioner). We live in Stillwater and have continued to bring our daughter to this clinic (although we will probably switch to the Woodbury location). Highly, highly recommend. read more

Absolutely the most discriminatory place. Be warned. We went for a well child visit we were charged almost $200 extra and my child was completely healthy!! We were told he was being charged because he has Down syndrome. Even though he is perfectly healthy they charge you for having a disability any disability!! Autism ADHD being in a wheelchair they charge $200 for a disability are you kidding me. They say having a disability means you are more work for them. This place is horrible. Their billing office is absolutely disgusting so rude so discriminatory. I can't say enough horrible things about this practice. They have also refused to give us anything in writing about our bill. they just want us to pay the bill with no literature about what we're being charged for. They've told us to get a court order to receive literature about our bill are you kidding me. read more

Took 8-year old for urgent care visit (strep throat). First time using this clinic. We had to wait a little bit (about 45 minutes) to be seen for our walk-in, but that was kind of expected. Staff was very friendly and waiting room was bright, clean and modern. My son adored Dr. Jaeger, declared she was his favorite doctor that he has ever been to. She was engaged, energetic, and joked with him even at almost 5 o'clock on a saturday afternoon. She even checked for us to make sure that the pharmacy we chose was still open. We'll head back here the next time we need urgent care. read more

We switched here from a larger clinic and we are so happy that we did. Dr Wilson was great at our first well checkup and they were so fast with his vaccines. Very clean waiting room and treatment room, it definitely does not feel grubby like our old office. We went today for an ill visit and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seen, which for a Monday morning is very impressive to me. I love that for sick visits you just walk in. Our old clinic probably wouldn't have seen us for two weeks. Their hours are great, both pediatricians that we've seen have been wonderful as well as the medical assistants and receptionists. I wish we would've come here from the beginning. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent pediatric care. read more

The staff at this clinic were very unfriendly and rude, not just one, but several, even the practitioner, who made it a point to tell me it was her day off and had to come in because it was so busy and that she was doing me "a favor" by providing medical care....really? This was my first experience with this clinic and will never return. read more

I had never been to Central Pediatrics before but had to go their because our clinic did not have any appointments. We went to this location yesterday during urgent care for a fever and received excellent care! I was greeted by the receptionist with a smile and she was happy to answer all of my questions. I could tell she was really busy answering the phones and checking in patients but she still took the time to help me which I really appreciated. We were only there for half an hour but all of our concerns were addressed. You can tell the physicians really care about their patients and thank you to the receptionist who made me feel welcomed! read more

Inadequate, uneducated, and archaic pediatric visit! I brought my son in with what was diagnosed by the MD as a stomach flu, fluid in the ear, and pink eye. Received an Rx and minimal MD recommendations for pink eye only. No recommendation on how to prevent spread of extremely contagious pink eye among family and no recommendation of how to ease flu and ear issues (...maybe try an over the counter pain reliver or decongestant). Just provided advice to call back if symptoms increase...so I call back 48 hours later and after 5 phone calls over 3 hours, I finally received a response. I described the ear symptoms had increased; no set of questions like are the ears red or hot, have you seen fluid on the pillow, etc. Nope just come back in 48 hours later pay me $200 for five minutes of time. Oh yeah and again no common over counter or home remedy recommend steps to ease symptoms. Meanwhile I can describe a set of symptoms to another pediatrician, receive the recommendation for warm packs and pediatric Tylenol, and if it doesn't clear have an Rx called in. No cost, no more exposure to germs, kid comfortable in 20 min! Never going back to Central! read more

If I could give less stars I would. We relocated from Rochester, so Mayo Clinic set my expectations high, but this office was a joke. When I initially called I was told our insurance was covered, and was not told otherwise even after my card was scanned in the office. I was however informed when I tried to check in a month later for urgent care my insurance wasn't covered... After 5+ phones calls I now know they don't take my insurance at all, and am responsible for the $215 WELL CHILD VISIT. Are you kidding me? $215 for an absolutely routine visit? Sure, I should have verified with the insurance company themselves, lesson learned. However the wait time was rather long for a scheduled visit, and with a 1 year old in a room full of instruments that can not be played with, that's reason enough for me to never return. The Dr. who finally came in and spent less than 5 minutes with us, gave us outdated information that as an RN I was sad to see. Overall I was felt better educated on current practices than this office and am happy to not go back. read more
