Our first lunch testing here. BBQ Chicken flatbread for me, Mex Coke. B having grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of soup. Well just having Mex Coke makes this stand out above. Well I like this. B...not so much. Smaller portions, but that's fine with me. Flatbread sure good, though crust isn't browned at all. Still real good. I loved this store! It's a combination bakery, cakery, and cooking/kitchen store. I wandered around looking at everything from cast iron cookware, professional style knives, beautiful bowls, infused vinegars and so much more! I don't really need anything but decided I wanted an unusual coffee cup, a rainbow- colored spurtle, a lily pad-shaped silicon bowl cover, and cutting board conditioner. Nothing I couldn't do without, but they called to me. I also had a raspberry blondie from the bakery side, which was moist and satisfying. It's a good thing I don't live in Kearney since I would want to go here all the time. It's one of the stops on this year's Nebraska Passport. Yes, it's a drive from Omaha, but I decided to make a two day trip and visit others in the passport too. read more

The best ice cream in town! We also got cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life - so fluffy and perfect flavor. It's so hard to choose from all the dessert options whenever we go. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Overall very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere if you want to stay and enjoy your treats there. They also have a really yummy lunch menu but we have not tried that yet. read more

I love this place although it is kinda hidden they have really good sweets. I love their salted nut roll bar it is my favourite.

We love this place. Everything they have made is wonderful. Great customer service. The inside is a great place to sit down and have some ice cream or snack. Our cake decoration order was wrong on 2 out of 3 cakes. Sho I had to return the next day to pick up "corrected" cakes. 1 of 2 was corrected, they didn't have time for the other. They offered a small discount (12.5% of the total) and expressed regret, but didn't hesitate to make excuses either. I drove straight to the reception site and arrived 1/2 hour before the first gusts. And guess what, the cakes were DRY. 2 out of 3 were nearly inedible and lots of expensive cake was thrown away by our guests. I don't know if this their typical motis operandi or a passive aggressive attempt to hurt us for pointing out that they messed up 2/3rds of our order's decorations. How do you dehydrate a cake to that extent? I don't know. I'm out $200 for the cakes plus over 2 hours of my family's time and fuel to travel to Kearney twice. I really wanted this to be great cake and hope they can get their act together but I know that I won't be going back or recommending them either. Proceed with caution. read more

They made my son's graduation cake and I didn't give them your typical graduation sheet cake to do either! He is going to school to be a utility lineman. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and the gals recreated it perfectly! The cake was so tasty and moist. It was almost completely gone after the party. I sent home a little with family. The cake I had made was excellent. The cake was finished quickly and it was excellent. The service when the cake was picked up was not that great and the lady had a major attitude. If I could give a review of 0 stars I would. For the second time, we were given an estimate on our cakes when we met for a consultation of around $50. We had a plain-jane, white cake, white frosting smash cake and cupcakes. No designs, nothing. When I showed up to pick them up they said my total was $115, over double our original estimate. When I brought this to their attention, the owner said, "do you want your cupcakes or not?" She is so unbelievably rude. Honestly, I've had better tasting cakes from hyvee. Not worth the money or the hassle. I've heard from several friends of ours after complaining in a status on Facebook about this place that other people have had similar problems and rude customer service. I was highly disappointed in the cake I received for a 40th birthday party. The photo I had sent for reference clearly showed flowers and a drip covering the ENTIRE top of the cake (purple flowers/gold drip); however, when I picked up the cake, the flowers covered maybe a third of the top of the cake and the drip wasn't even on the top of the cake at all!! I was left with two-thirds of a blank cake on the top, along with it being very slanted and cracked frosting along the sides. Additionally, their communication when ordering was very concerning. I sent messages initially asking if they could do the design but heard nothing back over the course of a few days. I decided to call and they asked me to resend the messages so I did and still had no response for a few days. Finally they messaged me back and said they could do the design but needed to check their price list to get me a quote. Almost a week passed, and I still never received a price quote, even after sending several follow-up messages that were marked as "seen," so I called again to see if they had a price for me and the girl said oh yes it's in the computer, did no one tell you, and I said no. It probably took over two weeks to confirm my order due to lack of communication on their end. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the cake and service received by K-Town Cakes. read more

I order a wedding cake for this past weekend May 5th 2018, and on my way home, which I drove very safe and slow, the complete top of the cake fell off in the car. My sister (whom was my Maid of Honor) called and told them what had happened, and they said that once the cake leaves the property its not their problem. She asked if they could make a new one for my wedding which was the very next day, and they said they were too busy and would not be able to. Arrived & was waiting in line for my turn for the employee to purposely help the customer behind me - before me. I thought about leaving & not spending a dime as I've heard other negative reviews regarding the customer service in this bakery. KTown was so easy to work with for our wedding cake! They created such a beautiful, simple, and elegant cake for us with little direction. We gave them some ideas and they ran with it! KTown also was so accommodating with adding some personalization to the sheet cakes we ordered also. Besides looking wonderful, the cake itself was so delicious!! I didn't have any issues with rudeness. The cake I ordered was where my disappointment lie. I told them I wanted a cake that was purple (we got lavender) and with frogs (we got those but they were 2 dimensional cutouts that I probably could have done myself). I asked for whimsical and about the only thing that hit that was the cut of the cake. I was disappointed. I wanted fun and silly and got some pearly old lady wedding cake. read more

Very professional and friendly. I get cakes there all the time for family get togethers. My family always complements the cakes on how amazing they look and how they taste even better than they look. I even have several people in my family who do no like cake very much, myself included, but we all love K-Town's cakes because they are so moist and delicious. What the heck is wrong with this establishment? We had an issue with the money transaction so we went back to try and settle it and figure out what went wrong. Instead we were interrupted by the owners niece and told us that we were wrong and be came aggressive toward me. First of all, she had nothing to do with the situation. Her unneeded input and mumbling under her breath is both childish and unprofessional. You call her a manager? I know for a fact I'm not the first customer who have had issues with customer service here and I'm pretty sure it's the same rude women. She didn't apologize in any way and the owner even defended her actions. Treating customers with disrespect is not the way to run a business. Not only that, but when we asked to see their cameras (there was quite a bit money that just went missing according to them), we were told there were none. We asked about his receipt that my boyfriend was never even offered. They said well we would had to have written out a receipt for him, because they don't do receipts for cash. It all seemed very fishy to me. They ended up keeping $180 for a $95 cake. We also gave them a review on Facebook that has since disappeared (I believe along with the ability to even review them). They aren't even taking responsibility for there mess ups or bad employees. So disappointed. Expected more. Especially for the amount of money we paid them for the cake. I have had many people reach out to me with similar situations with the same disrespect and rude attitude. We loved the cake, but will never waste our time doing our business here again. read more

I ordered a cake from this business and when I went to pick it up they had forgot to make it. I needed it for a birthday party the next day so they were nice enough to offer to make it and have it completed by the time they opened the next day. This meant that I had to drive back to Kearney (I do not live in town) the morning of the party to pick up the cake. I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. I was in there to give them business (they aren't the only show in town), and they treated me like I was an annoyance. The one woman in there didn't even TRY to be friendly. I almost just put the flyer back and walked right out of there. I probably should have. If someone isn't happy to help their customers then they shouldn't be in business. I will go to the new place in the mall and see if they are happy to talk to me...that will determine my future business with them. And yes, I know...the rolls are amazing.
