If security is concerned, they have many protocols to combat your concerns, including live security feeds in every classroom and others I won't mention for obvious reasons. I write this review as a former SAHM, employee of a daycare, nanny, etc. My children currently attend the preschool and kindergarten programs. I chose this daycare primarily for their location to our home, ability to bus my children to and from school, and the quality of education. The campus is beautiful and includes an indoor play area and safe outdoor area. The bus trips to and from school and field trips have been well managed, to my knowledge. I actually prefer they do not serve them lunch, as I don't necessarily agree with the state's guidelines in what is considered "healthy". The day is planned, and for my children who enjoy structure, it is a welcome experience. Certain educators use scripture and character building activities in their lesson plans, which I also value. Onto a very personal experience that may be to some relatable. When we began at the Wave we had recently moved to Virginia Beach into a much smaller, one parent household. My soon-to-be kindergartner was having behavioral issues due to the confusing time. He regressed in every way. He forgot his manners, his alphabet, had toileting issues, and lashed out in anger or defiance. My son is now a thriving kindergartner who is excelling in school, his behavior is respectful and in line with his age group and he hasn't had an accident in almost a year. He is not medicated. I attribute his successes over the past year to the constant love, support, discipline, reinforcement and dedication of some very special educators at the Wave. I believe it would invade their privacy to mention them here; although my heart sings their praises. They have been such a blessing to our lives. As for my younger child's educators, they have also been amazing. The con's are certainly that they have raised tuition prices again; however, I still believe they are commensurate with other high-quality institutes in the area.

My husband and I were finally able to see it after a 2 month investigation. They found multiple instances with ALL teachers in her classroom, involving multiple children, where there is excessive force being used and negligence of the children, including my daughter. The instance of my daughter, one of the most tenured teachers in the classroom, Jhamica, was feeding her in an activity center and becomes frustrated by her not eating fast enough. She grabs a bouncer (clearly pissed) and yanks my daughter out of the activity center and proceeds to throw her down into the bouncer. I could not believe my eyes. Especially because we had so much trust for Jhamica and never saw her behave with this type force or anger, ever. This was night and day from how she behaved when we as parents were present. We were told by CPS that there was far worse treatment witnessed in their review of all the footage of this infant classroom. The "teachers" are routinely snatching the babies up by ONE ARM and tossing them onto the floor. CPS mentioned specifically in our discussion yesterday, the roughest treatment and one-armed snatching / throwing involving a boy who wears a helmet in the classroom and a girl who started walking. The "teachers" were referred to CPS as lazy, sitting in the rocking chairs almost all day long, completely ignoring the kids until absolutely necessary. There's a special place in hell for these people.

The process of getting in is tedious, but wheel worth the journey. For the first time ever I am not worried at all about my daughter being in a safe and educational rich environment. The school year started off well, but the teacher was a bit eccentric and was let go toward the end of the year. By year's end, we felt the education being provided was inconsistent, and we wanted more structure for our child going forward, so we chose a different path for seventh grade. When it came time for the elementary graduation ceremony, we received an invitation and attended, only to discover, upon arrival, that our child's name was not on the program. He had not been included in the ceremony simply because he wasn't continuing on to their middle school. This was disheartening for him, especially after a full year of good performance and full tuition paid. Excluding a student who completed the year successfully, solely because of where he was headed next, reflects poor judgment on the part of whoever made that call. Because of this experience, I would not recommend the Hampton campus.

Then, they moved her to the two's with no transition, they didn't even know that she couldn't have milk and I'm thankful I caught this on camera checking on her the first day and stopped them on time. Teacher were rude since the beginning not saying hello but keep talking to each other most times at pick up so I never got to have a relationship with them. My daughter started crying at drop off again and that was a first sign. Next, she was left with her t-shirt and swaeter wet until her lips turned blue at home when I noticed her arms were frozen,after I picked her up when she was still napping at school. I obviously asked the teachers to change her but this happened again twice until I noticed at pick up one day and confront led them right away. Turned out they didn't care and had no intention to change her. I reported it to the director, that didn't care and didn't intervene (long story short). Had a bad feeling when I sent her to school the day after so I watched her on camera only to see that my fears were justified: she was neglected care the whole day, no diaper change and no visual contact when she started crying cause a kid pulled her arm and after 30 miutes no response of either teacher, then she was crying following one of the teacher around, and this teacher turned to her, bent down and moved her head and hands like if she was yelling at her and then ignore her again. After plenty of calls (they didn't respond for over 50 minutes) and message via app (that director saw but lied about), the director showed up to take care of my daughter and I left work to pick her up and find her diaper and pants wet. Director lied, supervisor didn't care, and your kid might be the next one cause no intervention for the teachers behavior either. I can't recommend the center and want to share my experience if can help the next kid to avoid emotional abuse and neglected care.
