Yelp comes through for me yet again! I was looking for a massage therapist to provide a lymphatic massage in preparation for an upcoming surgery. I was extremely fortunate to able to get in with Emilee the following day. Competing the intake paperwork was a breeze and I emailed it over, always my preference to be paperless. She was very specific with parking directions, which were easy to follow. You could immediately tell that Emilee was a compassionate, caring person. Her space is very warm and inviting. I was impressed with how she could visually assess structural areas that may need addressing from standing in front of her as you prepare for your session. Even being a holistic practitioner myself, I did not know what to expect with a lymphatic massage. Emilee asked if I wanted to know what she was doing and feeling through the massage. Being a learning junkie, I appreciated this for sure! I have to say, I have experimented with all types of holistic treatments and I don't know that I've ever come across someone so intuitive! She picked up on things that I didn't tell her and told me things going on in my body that I had no clue! The 90 minutes flew by and we did spend a little extra time, which she did give me the option to continue, which I appreciated. Needless to say, my quest for a regular massage therapist has ended. I will definitely be visiting Emilee as part of my preventative maintenance regimen! read more

It is a shame when a business has a few reviews and one of them is negative and slants the whole curve! The negative review for Emilee is just plain wrong!!! I have been to numerous massage places and people and can easily say that Emilee provides one of, if not, the best massage's in town! I am 6'6" and a fit 240 pounds and Emilee is more petite, so the first time, I was very curious (okay - honestly, skeptical) on how it was going to go (I like to feel the pressure!). At first, the massage starts with some gentle pressure, but she maneuvers through the body with grace and purpose. She transitions nicely from firm pressure to relaxing to give the muscle being worked on "time to breathe." I have been to way too many masseuses who just try and battle through a 'sticky' muscle only to leave me feeling worse. I literally walked out of my last session feeling both relaxed and like the muscles were thoroughly worked on - that is so rare to have both experiences in one massage. Her studio is what you would typically find for a sole practitioner, yet it has all the accouterments that you would expect. Relaxing music and a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. At the end, Emilee will concoct a personalized tea for you. Overall, Emilee provides one of those massages that during it you wonder if you are falling in love with the hands providing such a nice release to the stress, soreness, etc. flowing throughout your body. Emilee did a fantastic job working out all of my kinks and tense spots (Some I wasn't even aware of!) and making me feel at ease throughout the whole experience. I was so relaxed I fell asleep for a few minutes during my appointment :-) Her studio is very welcoming and pleasant, she greeted me with a detoxification herbal tea and asked some questions before we got started. Thinking of You Massage Therapy is the place to go for bodywork that extends way beyond tired muscles. The proprietor, Emilee Huff, has a gift for seeing exactly where attention needs to be directed, intuitively moving energy out of affected areas and clearing stuck places. There have been times that I have shown up complaining about a pain in my shoulder and Emilee focuses on my hip. Why? Because she sees that the pain in my shoulder is coming from a tightness in the outer hip and by releasing the contraction in that spot, the shoulder automatically relaxes. Genius. On a personal level, Emilee is friendly and generous, often sending me home with a cup of personally blended tea. Sometimes she follows up with a text to see how I am feeling, which makes me feel cared for. I have never had a massage therapist like this before, one that participates so fully in the healing process. I can't say enough good things about her intuition and healing energy. The studio is located in the top floor of a quiet building and is cutely decorated with soft natural lighting and a super comfortable table. Emilee knows what she is doing! I got a massage from her years ago that stuck with me, and after several bad massages elsewhere decided to go back. She targets my injuries and provides relief without aggravating the injury. Hopefully will be going back soon for preventative care rather than injury treatment! read more

Emilee is tremendous...the best at what she does, and I'm not candy coating it to be nice. I came in yesterday with a sore chest (back on the wagon lifting) and inflamed bak (lifting, running, cycling, bulging disk, etc). In an hour and a half she worked my muscles in ways I've never experienced...sometimes the pressure was intense, but the pain immediately subsided. Today, I feel great! Excellent massage! I didn't get to finish my recent review. So here is the rest. I am a connoisseur of the healing arts, from Rolfing to reiki to cranial-sacral therapy. This was a first for structural integration, lymphatic detox. It was not an intense rub down, so don't expect that. The immediate result for me was total relaxation, a feeling of lightness and being grounded at the same time. The tightness in my neck and shoulders dissipated. I highly recommend Emilee! read more

Emilee is an incredible therapist. Her techniques are really unique and pays close attention to every muscle in detail. She is very knowledgeable and that is definitely reflected during the secession. I had never felt this good with lower back and immediately felt relief after the secession. Emilee's "structural and medical detox experience" just wasn't my thing. The treatment often oscillated between very uncomfortable (bordering on pain) to ticklish. As a result, the overall experience was very unpleasant and not relaxing. I've tried many different massage therapies and am always eager to try out new techniques, but I simply didn't enjoy this one. I was hoping I would at least experience some kind of profound relief, but I didn't experience that either. I still had the tension in my shoulders and neck and woke up the next morning with a horrible kink in my back. If you are looking for a more traditional and relaxing therapeutic massage, this probably isn't the right place. However, Emilee is incredible sweet and I think she sensed that I didn't get the relief I wanted and even offered a 50% discount on my next massage -a very generous offer. read more

Wow Emilee was amazing!! She runs a very professional establishment. I have been through many different therapist and have finally found one that knows there stuff. I went into Emily for a massage to help a chronic shoulder issue I have. I hadn't been to a massage therapist in months but after just one visit, I had huge relief. Emilee is an incredible massage therapist. I can honestly say she is the best masseuse I have ever had. She actually listens to you and uses an appropriate amount of pressure for your personal taste but still gets the job done. One time I came in and after the massage she told me that I had a vertebrae out of place and asked me if I felt her put it back into place. I did not, but I could definitely tell a difference! She gets into every nook and cranny of your body and I always feel incredible when I leave. I really appreciate that Emilee gives herself extra time between appointments to go over your massage and give you suggestions on things you can do between appointments to address the concerns you are having. During one 90 minute session I had with her one she incorporated a bit of the lymphatic drainage massage. I definitely want to try a full lymphatic drainage massage. I first met her when I bought a Groupon or something like that about 4-5 years ago. I have bought various discount massages from others and Emilee is the only person that I will actually go back to and pay full price. After going to her it is not even worth it to me to get a discount for an inferior massage. read more

I'm on the search for a new Massage Therapist and I went into this with high hopes due to the reviews that were posted but i was sorely disappointment, the massage was mediocre at best, her touch was a bit clammy and her hands were freezing the entire massage, heated lotion may be a good idea for therapists who's hands never warm up, the massage was a little sporadic she moved back and forth from top to bottom a lot instead of a smooth progression, she didn't really target any of the areas I asked as well as her touch was extremely soft and not very strong, her nails were long and kept digging into me and scratching me wherever she massaged, I almost got up and left and now I wished I had because the morning after the massage I have woke with an extremely stiff neck and shoulders. She also uses and obscene amount of essential oils that are not usually associated with a massage which overpowered me and almost made me throw up on the table. She was a very nice woman but didn't seem assertive enough for what her job entails, other then the massage the parking was awful and if my car was any bigger it would have not fit (small subaru) her office was also a bit hard to find. All in all I wouldn't recommend unless you like a cold touch, very light pressure and to smell like a very strong basil essential oil when you leave. read more
