Until several years ago when new inexterienced Vets arrived. One their new vets Miranda Lemyre had been giving my small dog physicals. She made no effort to find a way to look at his teeth. My husband did not insist. Shane lost most of his teeth and Dr Lemyre's behavior was awful when I called for help. I had to have Dr. Coates take over his care for pain management and SubQ fluids when he would not drink and moaned for 2 days. Dr Sims is someone I never want to see again, ever. Her way of treating me after the incident with my dogs tooth extraction and my complaint about Dr Lemyre was very unprofessional. She gave me a rough "hug" stating that just because Dr Lemyre was not warm and fuzzy (paraphrasing) didn't mean she wasn't a good vet and that small dogs loose their teeth. Our other small dog was given dental care early and has lost a few teeth only. The way Dr Sims euthanized one of our other dogs was awful, horrific. I have other things I could say about her but don't have the space. In general we now have Lap of Love come to our home when that awful time comes. It's night and day difference than it ever was at N Elm. I had confidence in Dr Parsons and Dr Reyes that was misplaced. I had a cat that we rescued from the shelter. She developed a rare horrible condition that was almost impossible to treat and we made the awful decision to euthanize her. I have since did the research and found success stories in treatment. we should have taken her to a specialist but listened to Dr Parson's instead. When I told Dr Parsons that we adopted another shelter cat she literally turned around and stood in the corner of the room for a few minutes. I was told we had terrible luck with cats. I'm 72 years old and have had cats all my life that have lived to old age. I felt insulted. There's more to that story but I will stop here. N Elm Animal Hospital is very expensive, much more expensive than the practice I now go to for my vet care. Lawndale Vet Hosp has been great, a medication my dog is on costs $30 less at Lawndale than N Elm.

Oakes was really understanding, and managed to fit him in without an appointment on a Saturday morning, preventing me from having to go to the animal hospital ($$$). On top of that, they were really friendly, and treated Leo well. I told them that he is a reactive dog, and they were mindful of that, and helped him to feel comfortable. Oakes is my new vet.

Dr. Miller Teuschler joined the practice a number of years ago and they make an excellent team along with the staff. Everyone knows our pets when they walk in the door and are treated like family and given the best care possible. If you truly listen and do what Dr. Craig and Dr. Teuschler say for the health of your pets - you will have very healthy and happy pet family!!

Opportunistic overcharging business warning- Mount Tabor animal Hospital Winston-Salem, NC…read more While this office provides good medical care, be warned: their pricing is anywhere from double to 1,000% higher than other local clinics. It is deeply disappointing to see a veterinary practice take such financial advantage of pet owners. My puppy was taken in due to the regular vet being closed for the day after her spay procedure opened in two places, explicitly asking for staples to be replaced and antibiotics given. Without my consent, they removed and replaced all of her prior closures entirely. While the medical work was done well, they charged me double the cost of the entire original spay procedure just to close the wound ($500). They even tried to charge me for an e-collar, despite her being dropped off wearing one. In another instance, they charged me well over $2,000 for a procedure to remove two tumors. When the cancer unfortunately recurred, my new vet performed three tumor removals for just $250 total. After taking my dogs here for years, switching to a new vet opened my eyes. I learned this office had been pushing unnecessary care, like a Bordetella vaccine for dogs that are never boarded, and even trying to pressure my mother into a livestock-contact vaccine her dog didn't need. This business has clearly shifted its motivation from animal care to extreme profit margins. Please shop around and do a cost comparison before bringing your pets here. Shame on you for taking advantage of people who just want to care for their animals.

My cat seemed to have respiratory distress and they provided antibiotics and even new food recommendations for the betterment of my pet. I was given thorough instructions for my cat, Chaz, and information on everything that was done and allowed to help when needed. Many vets in the area are drop off appointments only and you don't even have a chance to speak to the vet in person - not here. For all 3 visits I was able to be present with my puppy and the vet while he did his exams and gave vaccinations. He was so informative and kind. I also had an upcoming vacation planned to drive to Alaska, they went above and beyond by calling the veterinary medical board to make sure I would have all of the proper paperwork to bring Willow along with me. I don't think i'll be taking my animals anywhere else again. I can't thank Dr. Wood and his team enough, they really set the standards high for proper care, 5 stars isn't enough.

Dr. Magnotta was her first vet and she was great! Ver compassionate and took very good care of Millie. But she left not long ago and I was nervous who would be Millie's next vet there. Shep, our other fur baby began his visit there and Dr. Barker (ha ha) was his vet. She was just as awesome! Shep is older (black lab, about 15-16 yrs) and has trouble with his back legs so we needed to find a solution to help alleviate his pain. He wouldn't go up and down the stairs at home nor the ramp we built for the back deck. Anyway Dr. barker started him in Adequin shots and I swear Shep was a whole new dog! So now Mille and Shep both see Dr. barker and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a vet. Bottom line, the staff at Guilford Jamestown is wonderful and compassionate people and we will continue to make them our primary vet!!

I told the vet I never wanted to give her more than one shot at a time again. She was adamant that she would do it again. Also, they refused to let me purchase her flea meds more than one month at a time to save money. And the girl at the front desk gave me quite a bit of attitude about it. I changed vets after this conversation and had no problem getting her medication.

Misinformation. Unreliable vets who do not follow up or follow through. Should have changed locations a year ago. My dog has a history of UTIs and been treated at this office for 3 years now since moving to Whitsett. Brough her in about 3 weeks ago for treatment and was diagnosed with UTI and prescribed antibiotics. About two weeks post treatment she now has blood in urine and in pain. Called at 7:30am on 8/5 and earliest they could see my dog was 2PM on 8/6. Received call at 10:45AM day of that they had two vets and an office manager call out sick and could not see my dog. Offered for me to bring in urine sample. In the past I was told that was not possible for my convenience (because they want the office visit fee/revenue) and would have to come in person. Today they are willing to bend rules to meet their needs. Received another call they would not be able to prescribe meds even if I bring in sample because they diagnosed my dog with bladder cancer summer of 2025, and my dog needs to be under treatment of a cancer specialist. MISINFORMATION!!!!!! My dog has since seen an internal specialist in Winston Salem multiple times in addition to Stony Creek who has since dispensed medicine for my dog. Placed on hold and the return response was then "well, the attending vet has no doctor relationship with your dog and cannot prescribe meds and we will not make accommodations to see her today." Once again, this place is understaffed and unable to manage their patient volume as has been the case for a long time. I have spent incredible amounts of money for both my animals at this vet and opt in to every diagnostic tool and treatment they have suggested in the past sparing no expense. Would appreciate loyalty and somewhat adequate care in return. DO BETTER STONEY CREEK VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!
