When I reached out again the following day, I was given a flimsy excuse about them receiving an email cancellation and the call being auto removed from their calendar. I hadn't given my email address to receive a confirmation, so I didn't even have their email to request a cancellation. Given that Dr. Miller failed to meet the bare minimum, I'd strongly advise anyone who is looking for a reliable therapist to steer clear of her and look elsewhere.

Serge is very different than any other therapist, in my experience. First of all, he is a life coach and focused on positive, small actions and mindfulness to make lasting changes in your life. He has helped me to overcome anxiety, depression, and confidence issues. Through his unique approach, I have learned to be more present to my emotions, rather than react to them in the moment, and over time, I react and process stressful situations in a much healthier way. When I first saw him, I thought his approach was unusual, even uncomfortable at times, because he would have me act out and connnect with what I was really feeling/thinking in specific situations that upset me. At first, I had a hard time even connecting with what was really going on in my mind. But I stuck with it and with his help, I became more connected and it has dramatically transformed how I interact with others, both in personal relationships and in my career. He has also helped me with public presentations and writing resumes and cover letters. And unlike other therapists, I never became burdened with this sense of having a disease (ie. depression) that is permanent and dangerous, as so many other therapist made me feel. I am empowered to investigate what makes me human. And he does it in such a subtle, compassionate way. I cannot say enough about Serge Prengel. My brother often expressed how attentive the staff were, and how he enjoyed his time there. However, my brother needed another level of care, and the staff there, particularly the social worker Ms. Thomas was instrumental in taking the time to help my brother transition to another facility. This meant so much to him and to me who live out-of-state, to know that in the busyness of what all the staff has to go through on a regular basis, that he was treated with human dignity and respect, and that he truly mattered. My brother has finally transitioned from his earthly body, but the few months that he lived post Park Gardens, made him happy, and for this I am truly grateful for the staff at Park Gardens. But the location and the building are not the issue it is the people that work there. The staff are rude, only the one in charge of the Health Department was not rude to me. I was only one step away from starting the position when suddenly I was told that they just handed the job over to someone else. After missing days of work in order to fulfill the requirements that were needed to begin working, I get met with that response. This was disappointing to me after being made certain that I would get this position. There were a lot of things about the process that were unclear and they had me going back and forth to the doctors office, back and forth with the references. Communication was not clear. I did my best to be respectful and on top of everything but they apparently do not care as much about doing their jobs. I have been told that the food is poor there. Some of the staff look like they do not want to be there and do not engage the way a real person working this field should be. I am so disappointed but this. My voice is going to be heard and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. Unless they change certain people who work there there.
