The administration is unprofessional, unresponsive, and does not practice what they preach. Administration has driven away many families and staff members. They consistently avoids parents, rarely returns phone calls or emails, and has created an environment where parents are shut out completely. You are not allowed to communicate with teachers directly, not even by email, unless you go through administration. Parents are not allowed into the building, and there are no classroom events or volunteer opportunities. It is clear they do not want parent involvement at all. At one point, it took more than two weeks and multiple attempts before anyone from administration responded to a simple email. Even teachers admitted that communication from leadership is severely lacking. What is most frustrating is the double standard. Students are held to impossibly high expectations and harshly punished for simple mistakes, yet staff and administration are not held accountable for their own failures. The hypocrisy is staggering. As paying customers, parents should be treated with respect and provided with timely, professional communication. Instead, families are ignored and dismissed. Over 20 families left this year alone, which should speak volumes. The owner chooses to look the other way rather than acknowledge these ongoing problems. It is truly unfortunate, because there are a few very sweet and caring teachers at this school, but they too are being driven away. This school is failing its students, families, and staff. Do not waste your time or money here. Now that we have left and experienced other private schools, I felt compelled to share just how unsettling our experience was in hopes of saving other parents from the same frustration.

The teachers and staff have been the absolute best, and I always felt completely comfortable and confident leaving my children in their care. My boys were enrolled in the Mandarin Immersion program, which I cannot praise enough. Beyond the wonderful education, this school gave us an incredible community of parents and friends that we will truly miss. Thank you for loving and supporting my boys over the years. We will always look back on our time here with so much appreciation and highly recommend this school to any family looking for a caring, trustworthy Montessori environment! :)

However, my husband and I's experience has deteriorated rapidly as we've been held to different standards than other parents (we bring our child to class with all appropriate diapers and wipes jackets for cold weather etc but other parents rely inappropriately on us prepared parents and don't bring their child prepared to school so they can "borrow" from us for months; NOT our guide's fault). Alana is our reason for our daughter thriving so well and our sole reason for keeping her in Guidepost. Aside from that, we are looking forward to withdrawing and will be heartbroken to leave Alana.

Although I only attended here for 1 and a half years (junior-senior year) I will say this school is great. This is a new school and Frisco does a great job of keeping their class sizes small and keeping their schools at 4-5a. This is to give every student a great opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. Also because Frisco is booming there's obviously an influx of schools, if you haven't noticed. Because of this they're in high demand for educators. So some of the teachers are on the younger side but there's also some veterans paving the way. When it comes to test scores and education Heritage is not only in the top rankings for the DFW but the whole state of Texas. So parents your students are in good hands! I feel like the teachers do a great job at college preparation but like I said I only attended here for a short amount of time so most of my knowledge was already instilled. Heritage operates on an A-B schedule (where you don't go to every class everyday but interchange every other day) this is so great to get used to how college schedules will be like! One negative thing that I experienced here was participating in softball. I pretty much loved everything about it except for the fact that my coach broke state rules with the amount of hours practicing. We'd practice twice a day totaling at least 4 hours a day. During season it was very straining with homework and maintaining a normal life. She received multiple warnings but never changed. There's also a required study hall that coaches have to do maybe once a week or at least once a month. We never did that. She is no long there but just make sure when your students are participating in sports that education takes priority! Other positives: clean school, clean bathrooms, personable staff Other negatives: sheltering/coddling students (not conducive for college), dress coding is over the top and borderline pervy, insistent that the mascot is called KY-OATS (coyotes) no let's speak proper English it's KY-O-TEES.

They had to close the bathrooms because of people doing dumb stuff. They also made these nasty ass passes which is paper and everybody and their whole family touches that nasty pass . These kids here are..... weird. It's suburban kids that try to act like they're from south Dallas and they're wanna be gangbangers.

In a time when many are wondering about what is actually being taught in the classroom, it is comforting to know that my children are not being exposed to anything other than a Christian worldview. Each teacher has been transparent in what is being covered in the classroom, and they have also been very approachable if there was any kind of concern. I highly recommend this school to anyone, but especially to parents looking to make a change out of a "progressive" school system.

The Christian day school assists the church in fulfilling the five functions of a Christian congregation: education, worship, evangelism, fellowship, and service. Classical education is an intense course of learning that seeks to endow students with the ability to master any subject. Through an integrated and focused curriculum, this method supplies children with the tools necessary for higher academic achievement. One of the primary emphases of classical education is the development of language. Studies in phonics, Latin, and English grammar are critical to establishing the child's vocabulary and reading skills. Language is the medium whereby thought is transmitted. By perfecting language proficiency, this course of study increases the child's capacity to comprehend new material. Classical education, however, does not limit its focus to language. On the contrary, the curriculum is both diverse and comprehensive. Our approach is practical but also historical.
