I have never experienced such bad service in my life. Three times I have gone to fuel up at Co-Op and three times I have had to drive away without gas because the so-called "employees" are so inept at their duties they cannot do their jobs. All they have to do is press a button to confirm I want my gas, and each time I stood there waving like a moron trying to get their attention, before fruitlessly having to leave to go elsewhere. I went to pre-pay the last time and the girl behind the counter said I wasn't able to pre-pay for that pump, and if I wanted to pre-pay I had to use a different one. I was stunned, because the pump itself said "PRE-PAY INSIDE". I mentioned my past experiences there, and she started giving me sass, saying it's not the machine, probably the person. I had plenty of friends work there when we were growing up, and back then it had great customer service. These days, you'd be lucky if one of their employees wasn't smoking right behind the giant propane tank when you went to fuel up. The management needs to get a hold of the situation and do something before the store dries up. I, for one, will never fuel up there again. For years I have been a regular purchaser at Co-op normally in Calgary and have always had awesome service at any Co-op store or gas bar... HOWEVER I was in Okotoks Aberta and specifically made a point to stop at the Co-op gas bar there and I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect from the lady behind the counter. To give you an idea how I feel about this; its my first time that I have ever made my thoughts known to the public. I managed a gas bar for years and if one of my employees treated customers with this kind of degrading attitude that oozed out of every pore they would be gone. I am all about customer service and understand that every person is going to have bad days.. it happens .. but the clerk was outright condescending and rude from the minute I walked up to the counter. When a clerk just looks or more like stares at you when you say hello and does not reciprocate that is just not exceptable. That was just the beginning. I did not react to her and was very polite regardless of the treatment I received. It is a very good business move to ensure that the correct people are representing your business or service in a positive way. I cant stress enough how fast word-of-mouth can cripple a buisness especially in a small town. I know I will not return to that particular Co-op location and I wonder how many other patrons have done the same. Unfortunate. read more
