Unfortunately I was unable to take in Person lessons because of covid, but I managed to continue learning online with an native Spanish teacher. Basically, I took a new level test and started right away. The classes are well organized and they use Google classroom and meets, personally I think is nice because you get to see all the class material online and work online with it. It's very interactive. She seemed okay and I liked the school because it was an accredited Montessori. So I wanted to enrol my child as soon as possible. She told me that she will let me know if there was any available space for Jan. she told me to call a week after the interview and I did, she said she still doesn't know what's going on and to give her some more time so I gave her another week and called her and she said she still had no clue what was going on and she would call me as soon as she finds out. Anyways long story short, I had called her 4 times and left 2 messages she never returned any of my calls. Which I find is very UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE!! If you run a proper Montessori school which parents would like to enrol there children and pay you to teach them, wouldn't you at least have the common curtsey to call a parent back and let them know what's going on ? She never called me back. If she can't call you back on a simple yes or no answer that shows me she is not running a proper Montessori school that I would like to enrol my child in. So I definitely do not recommend this school for any parent. There are many out there and I would like to enrol my child in one where they care rather then not care!

The reality is that this is true, anyone can learn to draw and it's that simple. No bells. No Whistles. Aside from the fact that you will learn to draw beautiful realist pieces, this school is run by genuine artists with decades of experience and real heart. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with flexible hours to accommodate working professionals and students. You will begin with Bargue drawings. Once you have completed this portion of your studies (it could take 1-2 years depending on your skill and time) you will move into oil painting. Also, there are weekly life drawing classes utilizing charcoal. If I could go back in time, I think I would skip any consideration of a fine art degree or enrollment at a school like OCAD, because you can easily graduate from these programs in four years and still be unable to draw. But at the ARA, if you have time, patience and passion, you will learn to draw, no matter who you are.

You feel like you're hanging out with friends and then all of a sudden you end up with an end product that you might have thought you'd need a critical and disciplined instructor to create. Nay! You can have fun learning to create and also be quite surprised at what you're capable of at The Make Den. I have done their macrame and leather fundamentals class, and was actually kind of drunk for the macrame class (wine was provided for my group due to the occasion) and still created a work of art. The format of their classes are great too, chunking up classes and projects. It flows nicely and you walk away feeling accomplished with lots of goods to show off.
