Worst customer service on earth.I changed my address and they put it back to the old one. Attempts to change address have been sent to them , then they confirm by sending mail to the original address...which is a rental property. They continue to send statements with my personal information to my renters. I owe 0.01 cent on the loan but they wont let me make a payment because they require the last statement to be sent to the address on file...which is the renters. So I can't change the address or send last payment...because they want me to pay the title fees and remaining interest on the 0.01 cent i owe. So my loan is now past due because online system or phone wont let me make the last payment... read more

Well it's been about 4 months (really over 2 years...) since this whole mess started and I still have no answer. As you can see a representative reached out to me to try to get me some resolution from a service rep. It took a couple of weeks for the service rep to reach out, which is understandable given the state of the world. When she finally reached out she was very courteous and took all my information down as well as my concerns. I was sure to make clear my displeasure at the major miscalculation of my tax predication for 2020 and my desire just to know how it occurred and to know that it wouldn't happen again. She said she would have to reach out to other departments to investigate. After a few weeks she called back to inform me I was not getting a refund (I never asked for one???). I again restated what my concerns were and she said she would have to escalate it to her manager. This was about 8 weeks ago and I have heard NOTHING. I called the service number and now it goes to a nondescript voicemail where I have left my info several times and received no response. I am currently exploring refinancing options with other companies or my credit union. At this point I am willing to pay more in the long run simply to relieve myself of the anxiety I get when something from CENLAR is in my mailbox and the feeling that I have to manage the company responsible for managing the biggest investment of my life. And sadly, I'll take a little satisfaction in knowing CENLAR couldn't get the most it could from a reliable customer because of their inept and ineffective business practices... read more

Cenlar - Mortgage Lenders Near Me - Ewing, New Jersey

Well, their customer service is from the 80s. They recently updated their website and instead of migrating my account, I had to create a new one. On top of it, there is nothing I can really do on the website. I have to call for everything, wait a bunch which is super inconvenient (no callback option, no way to tell how long I have to wait, limited work hours). Any other bank site has a basic function to make a payment and set up an auto pay. I am not sure how they dont have these options. It is much cheaper to allow customers to make online payments. read more

I have been able to get by with Cenlar in the past. I have low expectations of these companies. However, Cenlar went from a very poor website for customer payment processing to a worse situation. They recently changed systems and I now cannot access my account. I have gone through the new registration process and still can't access my account. I have talked to two different customer service reps who have not been able to help me. They tell me to get out of the internet and try logging in again - didn't work, now they said the system doesn't work with Google Chrome. Tried Internet Explorer - doesn't work. Chat function doesn't work. I am waiting for an email to get a new password. Not holding my breath any longer. What a disaster. Cenlar has failed to accept and process payments---they even refuse them! They don't answer their phones, their website doesn't work, and we've called everyday for nearly weeks and weeks. Everyday they have some new bs story. They've slow-walked us into a mountain of fees and now foreclosure. It's not an issue of our ability to pay (we can; in fact, we have enough savings in our Citibank account to pay off the entire mortgage). Before Citibank transferred the servicing of our mortgage to Cenlar, we had a blemish-free record and no problems for nearly 30 years. Now? I changed my review from a 1 Star to 2 star. Still low since there is no way to talk to anyone, it just hangs up but yelp responses has been excellent. Yelp has been the best way to get help. Stacy with Cenlar who responses to Yelp has been great and super responsive. If you go to loanadministration website you can find out who owns your loan. If federal then you have more options. Just submit your covid hardship on Cenlar website then in a week you will have options based on who owns your loan. The frustrating thing is that some banks offer deferred payment at the end of the term but Fannie Mae and Cenlar does not. They won't defer your payments to the end of the term. They only allow 3 months delay then 3 months is all due at the end of the three months. that does not help most people who lost their jobs. Not sure why federal loans and other banks will defer and some won't. We cant control who buys our loan. I am sure they will change when the wave of none payments happen after the 90 day forbearance is up. Most wont have they money to pay all 4 payments in 3 months including the current month. I bought my house in march of '12 with the help of First South Bank. A bank I was happy to do business with. In '19 the bank was bought off and the mortgages were sold to Cenlar. At first everything was good but it quickly went array. Now they have not accepted my last five payments and are sending me bills for payments with late fees. They have billed me a late fee i will never pay under CARES act which prohibits it and took down my loan details despite me being informed i was approved thru October for loan forebearance. Guess if anyone has.....Cenlar continues to tell me that they are sending me a check for an escrow settlement after a refinance 6 months ago. They have told me 6 times that the check is being sent. It was bad enough when Citibank sold my mortgage (with only $4,000 left to pay off) to what I thought was the VERY WORST mortgage company/loan servicer ever - a company that goes by the dubious name of Mr. Cooper - UNTIL I met you! Honestly, you people should be ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! Where is the work ethic? Where is the pride in doing a job (FOR WHICH YOU ARE PAID) even remotely competently and efficiently? All one has to do is look at the HUNDREDS of appallingly negative reviews from irate/dissatisfied/disgruntled customers on Yelp, Pissed Consumer and consumeraffairs.com (among others) to get a really good idea of just HOW UNBEARABLY BAD you are! When Citibank sold my HELOC to you, I received NOTHING other than a statement indicating the current balance due on said Home Equity Line of Credit. In my desire to NOT have to go through the same frustrating experience I went through with Mr. Cooper, I paid off the HELOC. I then sent a message through your OLD website (before it was shut down and moved to the new website) requesting whatever documentation and information I needed in order to close the loan and have the necessary reconveyance/lien release documents prepared and filed. HOW INCREDIBLY CONVENIENT that when I FINALLY received a response (of which I was notified via email to review on your message center), that response was apparently posted on the OLD website on the very day that the OLD website was taken down (thus, making it impossible for me to review your response). WHAT THE FUCK??? I then sent a new message through the NEW website, requesting that the response posted on the old, now INACTIVE website be posted to the new website so I could hopefully determine what it is I needed to do in order to close the loan. What wishful thinking. It's really simple. I need for you to send me the AUTHORIZATION TO CLOSE HOME EQUITY OF LINE OF CREDIT (as set forth on the reverse side of your statements) and have requested same through the Message Center on your NEW website. SEVERAL TIMES! Apparently, it takes a team of Rocket Scientists to comprehend and comply with this request and those just do not exist within your company because I'm STILL WAITING FOR THE COURTESY OF A RESPONSE over a month later! SERIOUSLY, why does EVERY single request from EVERY customer turn into a full-time career with you people? People are struggling, they are out of work, they are stressed out beyond their breaking point, and all you people do is ADD to that stress and frustration because NO ONE wants to take ownership of their job. YOU PEOPLE ARE LUCKY TO STILL HAVE PAYING JOBS - DO THEM!! This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! Hey - here's an idea: There are currently MILLIONS of people out of work! Another instant of my loan being transferred to them. Initially (for a few months), they were more professional than the previous company. After that brief time period it went downhill. Super long hold times, even to just speak to someone, anyone. The employees do NOT know what they're talking about and there is very poor communication between departments. This results in frequent transfers with a minimum of 20 minute hold. I tried to a loan modification which literally took years. While the received and were processing the paperwork, they would work so slowly that the paperwork would be out of date and they would need new paperwork sent by me. This went on for years. I finally called the BBB, which had a great response and I was able to keep my house. This is a very good incentive to keep up with your loan, just so you do not have to correspond with them. PS- Last night (Sunday) at 6PM I received a auto-caller stating to call Cenlar ASAP. I have no idea what it is about yet do to them not being open on Sunday. WTH? read more

Cenlar doesn't even deserve one star. They owe me $3000! After I sold my property in July 2019, Cenlar owed me nearly $3000 and said they would mail me a check to my address. I told them to send it to my new address which I gave them and they said they would but I never received it. Why? Because they sent the check to the property that I just sold!!! I didn't see the check until November 2019 (the check was made in the middle of July) and when I tried to deposit it the bank said it was invalid and charged me for depositing an invalid check. When I contacted Cenlar about it, they said the check was still valid and told me to deposit it again, even though the bank just charged me a fee for attempting to deposit and invalid check! I recently contacted them again and requested another check and they said they would mail me a new one, and then just two weeks later I got a message saying that they wouldn't mail me a new check because apparently I cashed the check on July 1, 2019, but that's impossible because the check was made in mid-July 2019! I am fed up with this company! Shame on you, Cenlar. You say "we are here to help", but then actually offer, absolutely no help at all. You're just another large, greedy corporation attempting to hide under a thin veil of actually caring about real human beings, but all you really care about is money. BBB here I come! read more

I recently refinanced on my home, the payoff figure was determined for the day of closing. Cenlar still auto withdrew my payment two day before closing even though that was incorrect. Additionally it was like pulling teeth to get my escrow money back which took longer than the 30 days the Fed allows. As of now about 45 days later i STILL don't have my overpayment. I called twice once on hold for an hour and a half only to get disconnected. The second time i was told they would create a "ticket" and an answwer would take 7-10 days for my issue to be looked at?. They wont even give me an answer..... This is in violation of federal law and i am seriously considering a lawsuit. read more

I got an email from Cenlar saying that I had a message, and when I signed on I saw a note that said my payment (fixed mortgage) was going up by $43 next month. That's it. Did my taxes go up? Homeowners insurance increase? No idea, because there was no explanation. Literally, nothing explained why my payment was going up. I had to Google around to find out the taxes and insurance are two possible reasons. There's a Chat with Us button on their website, but it only goes to an 'automated assistant' that provided answers that had nothing to do with what I needed to know. I looked all over for contact information and there is no email address, so I sighed and got on the phone. After going through the incredibly annoying automated system, I was put on hold, and stayed there for 20 minutes, until I just gave up. No idea what happened and if you make it that hard for me to get an answer, I'm looking for the door. So now I'm going to Google some more -- to see if I can get away from this company and find someone else to service the loan. Can you give a company an F- for support? read more

My loan was transferred from them in June. As of today, I have not seen my tax information from them for the first half of the year. When I tried to call, I can not get a person. I am then told to call my current loan administer and automatically hung up on. I have tried to email them, and have gotten no response in 2 weeks. Horrifying experience. If I have a grace period to make my mortgage payments from the 1st thru the 15th. Why is Cenlar Mortgage harasing me at work when they received my mortgage payment on the 6th. The voice mail said "attempting to collect a debt " WHAT!!!The questions you are submitted to are very, very insulting they humiliate you. If you are doing business with FCB MORTGAGE this is what you will be dealing with. They will sale your mortgage to CENLAR MORTGAGE. I will be refinancing very soon and speaking to all new home buyers in my subdivision of my horrible experience. I have paid my bill every month, yet CENLAR claims I have not. I provided CENLAR with full documentation and proof of payment, including Electronic Trace Numbers and File Trace IDs (payments occurring through online banking), yet CENLAR cannot figure it out. There is absolutely no way to reach (voice mails are not returned) or get follow up from their Executive Resolution Specialists. UPDATE: THIS ISSUE STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED! I'm still paying a debt for 2019 property taxes that I am 100% exempt from! I've sent Cenlar the Hillsborough County Property survey FROM THE COUNTY for my property that shows the number 0 (ZERO) for the amount of property taxes that I owe and they still refuse to update my mortgage to reflect such!!! These people are fully incompetent! Guess I'll have to reach out to my Congressman to get this issue resolved or even sue! This is insane! I'm 100% disabled veteran. I'm 100% tax exempt for property taxes on my home in the state of Florida. On July 24, 2019 I sent in a county approved tax exemption to Cenlar's Tax Department. However on my 2019 Escrow Statement I was charged taxes for 2019 which put my escrow account in shortage. In 2020 my mortgage goes up $400 due to this shortage from THEIR error. Earlier this month I go back to the county to ensure my property assessment was accurate in the amount of $0 for 2019. I confirmed it was accurate and AGAIN forwarded the approved county property tax assessment to Cenlar on February 7, 2020. I just received a response back from Cenlar requesting THE SAME documents that were forwarded to them on July 24, 2019 and February 7, 2020! What gives? The laziness and incompetence of this company is ridiculous! I've NEVER in my life dealt with a company that fails to read and not handle their customers documents properly. I will be taking this complaint to the BBB as well as my congressman. A veteran nor anyone else should not have to jump though this many hoops just to get a simple task taken care of. If I could give CENLAR no stars I would. I sold my home 6 months and they continue to send me statements and are charging an annual fee for having an account with them. The Authorization to Close was signed and mailed out in July of this year. I have called and talked to 3 different people trying to resolve this. The last time I called, I was put on hold for 35 min, then they disconnected my call. I had to call back again and wait in another phone queue for another 20 min. How this company manages to stay afloat is beyond me, of course then again, they charge fees for accounts that have been closed. I will NEVER have another loan through this company. I have talked with my mortgage broker and outlined everything that has transpired. His mortgage company and brokers are on high alert to avoid CENLAR at all costs. read more

Quite possibly the worst experience with a mortgage company I have ever had. I bought a new home and the mortgage company I worked with sold the loan to Cenlar. I had automatic payments set up from my bank and they received and applied the August, September, and October payments. Come November, they rejected the payment and I did not notice. When I got the late notice 3 weeks later, I immediately called and spoke to them about it. They were not able to take a payment over the phone (or so I was told) or set up online bill pay over the phone. I went back to my bank and paid for both November and then December. I also scheduled the January payment, all from my bank. All three of these payments went through and were accepted successfully. Then comes February. Using the exact same account information that was used to successfully send six payments previously, I sent the February payment. This was deducted from my bank account and I assumed all was well. This is where the problem begins. 3 weeks later, I get a notice that my account is past due. I call and explain that my bank sent the payment, and am offered the opportunity to pay AGAIN (with what money - it's already been taken out of my account!). I tell them I am willing to make the March payment, but that I need the February payment applied to my account or returned. I give them all of the information about the account number that was used and for the first time, I am told that the account number on their system is different than the one my bank is using. This was not told to me when I spoke to them in December, nor was it provided as the reason the November payment was originally kicked back. I literally called every 2-3 days for 45 days to check on the status and try to figure out if anyone had found my bank payment. Every time I had to start with collections instead of problem resolution, and had hours of wait time. I had huge difficulty talking to the same person twice and every single time, I had to start from the beginning and have the person document every part of the issue as if I hadn't just spoken to someone three days earlier. I spoke to several very nice people who assured me they would escalate it. I was instructed to send a detailed letter with all of the information. I did all of this. My case was closed 3 times without any resolution or contact. Each time I called back and this was identified, the case was reopened and I was told someone senior was getting involved. I did end up making the March payment as instructed by one of the associates I spoke to, and although I specified that it was the March payment, they applied it to February and marked me as paying late for both February and March. Finally, at the beginning of April, the money was returned to my bank by Cenlar. I immediately used it to pay Cenlar, and then set up automatic drafts on Cenlar's end to pay the bill on time going forward, hoping this would result in fewer issues than having my bank send the payments. My credit report showed late payments for February and March, all because they lost a payment and couldn't send it back and couldn't tell me what was happening for more than 45 days, despite me calling them regularly. I tried to get them removed but all I'm getting is radio silence. Honestly, this seems like the most inept company ever. The good news is that one year after purchasing the loan, they sold it to Mr. Cooper Mortgage, which has been a joy to work with. I am so thankful to have gotten away from Cenlar and hope to never have a loan sold to them again. read more

I've been trying for 2 days to get ahold of a customer service agent; hours and hours on the phone. Half the time, the phone hangs up. We're trying to get a payoff statement and now will be late on our refi because they don't pick up the phone. They're making tons of money; should hire more customer service agents. They also screwed us on our escrow with a major miscalculation and have now magically doubled our escrow from $350/mo to almost $850/mo. I have cenlar as a mortgage company. I just recently changed homeowner's insurance, and cenlar had sent me an email saying my insurance has been paid, but it was my OLD insurance. I called the customer service number to try to get ahold of someone to let them know I have switched insurances and to rectify this;however, I have been on hold for over 40 minutes multiple times. I FINALLY got a human voice today, and he hung up on me 10 minutes into the conversation and offered NO help on what to do. read more

Could I do zero stars??? This mortgage company has been an absolute disaster in every way since they bought my mortgage about a year ago. They had my address wrong for one. They lost my tax payment. They never notified me that my mortgage had gone up. The customer service is worthless. They told me to send them an email with my complaint. I was also told my issue had been "escalated" and should expect a call back in 24-48 hours from someone with higher than a 80 IQ. I am still waiting on that return email and return call. Upon receiving a call from the appropriate department they made every promise left and right that this would be taken care of and not to worry or lose any sleep. Things were starting to move forward. But this time on this second review I would like to rate them a NEGATIVE 10 stars!!! This department has only put me in a worse situation because of the lack of communication nobody communicates and told me at the very last minute what they need and if it's not given by the end of today it will take a turn for the worse. Citibank transferred my second mortgage loan only 30k to Cenlar. that was 2 years ago. they are completely unresponsive. and if you do get someone on the phone they want written NOT electronic signature to talk to you or your agent. so i was trying to refinance my larger mortgage and all Cenlar had to do was sign a simple subordination letter and they wouldnt !? 3 months trying to get them to sign a simple letter that regular folks sign in a day. either they are completely incompetent, completely untrained, out of their element, or more likely, they want their customers to fail and default. i am getting close to hiring an attorney to resolve this in court, just need Cenlar signature for a subordination. fools in my opinion, greedy fools. oh and they dont accept e signatures! how backward! they want we signatures. check it out! read more

Horrible company....had my loan with another servicer and sent payments through auto bill pay consistently (aka auto) and never had an issue....loan goes to Cenlar and suddenly they can't seem to apply the payment by the due date but always a day or 2 after then starts charging fees for it being "late". How was it fine for over 2 years and now it goes to Cenlar and it's late? They are the worst...customer service is horrible and the are extortionists.
