I recently took my truck into this repair shop, and overall, it was... an experience. The work did…read moreeventually get done, which I suppose is the main goal, but the process left a bit to be desired. Communication wasn't exactly their strong suit--I had to follow up more than once to get updates, and timelines seemed more like suggestions than actual commitments. There was one employee--a bald guy with glasses--who seemed to be running the show. He clearly knew what he was doing, but his attitude came across as a little dismissive, like customer questions were more of an inconvenience than part of the job. Maybe it was just a busy day, but it didn't exactly inspire confidence. On the positive side, my truck is running fine now, so I can't really complain about the end result. Still, a bit more transparency and a friendlier approach would go a long way. If you're not in a hurry and don't mind doing a little extra follow-up yourself, this place might work out alright.

The J Mart is a sweet little small town food market. With a good assortment of all your basic food…read moreneeds, the J Mart is about the only game in town without driving into Park River or Grafton... farther than you should walk anyway. The gals that work there always stock. Few of my kids favorite things when they hear we'll be in town, and of course, my kiddos love going in there and buying all sorts of candy and soda... Uh, I mean "pop." A small dairy case and some frozen foods are fairly limited, but most of the time have what we need that we forgot for dinner. The store closes early most days... and generally at the whim and fancy of management. The J-Mart includes two businesses: a carpet and flooring company and a grocery store / market…read more I don't have much knowledge of the carpet business, except that they put in my grandmother's carpeting and linoleum decades ago and she has had no problems. The grocery has a limited number of mostly nonperishable items, including canned goods, mixes, snacks and drinks, etc, in addition to some deli and frozen items. The crowning jewel of this store, though, is their Christmas candy selection. Beginning around October, the JMart is filled with rows and rows of bulk and packaged candy and nuts. Folks from across the state (and further) come into town each year to shop for their holiday treats. It's definitely worth a detour into Pisek!
