Part of Fowles winery I've been here a couple of time over the years for a bit of wine tasting an afternoon cheese platter to a delicious lunch.
The staff were very friendly and looked after us well. We sat outside in the yard and had our lunch. There is plenty of shade and a small playground for the rug rats. It's a nice yard but it needs to be paved and would be less dusty, not that that effected our meal. We were seated just up from the toilet which is not my favorite spot no matter where you are but it didn't spoil anything about our experience.
They have a good selection of wines to choose from and you can taste a few in the tasting area of the winery before having a glass with lunch or a platter. They do pair some of there wines with the dishes on the menu as a guide.
We started with a selection of antipasti and charcuterie and these were quite nice as I was hungry. In particular the crumbed eggplant and the spiced pumpkin with spinach and pine nuts. We also had a selection of Brie and pastes and fig and walnut loaf. Yum
For our main we had the slow cooke Pork belly with radicchio which was cooked lovely it was crunchy crackle with a gelatinous moist meat. We also had the Duck breast with fennel and orange salad. I must admit I'm not an expert on Duck and thought it was a bit chewy but I also like my steak well done so don't mind a bit of chewing. The orangutans fennel was a nice refreshing salad to finish it off.
Overall I was thoroughly pleased with all the dishes and meals and with a nice glass of wine and the ability to purchase a drop or two . It was a lovely afternoon. Even the coffee wasn't bad . Happy to come back for another meal and try Mor off the menu. Yum read more
